We went to Lincoln Center 3x during our stay which is right across the street. This convenience made up for the somewhat tiny room and stuffy air circulation. In addition, while WiFi is free (and slow) in the lobby, you have to pay for WiFi in your room.

Great service and short term stay, excellent location and view! Very helpful at the reception desk too! I would definitely recommend also the lobby bar if you want a good cocktail and a nice chilled atmosphere! There's also plenty of stuff to do next to the hotel within walking distance!

Do not take the room over the loading dock. Unless you wish to be kept awake all night by garbage and laundry pick up and deliveries. Aside from that there is a good and also a good+restaurant on either side of the property. And the bar is excellent.

No air conditioning. Had to sleep with the window opened and room became too noisy. Bath area only partially closed - whole bathroom became wet. Not the cleanest room. Excelent location and staff very friendly and efficient.

Stayed here last week for a Wedding in NYC. We arrived on Monday afternoon to the nice surprise that we had all been upgraded! Complimentary Wi-fi served us really well as we were constantly on Google looking where we were going the next day! The hotel is within walking distance of most places (but do take good comfortable shoes!) and also next to the Lincoln Centre Subway stop so everywhere is reachable! The rooms were a good size and nice and clean! All the staff were really friendly and there... Read more

This hotel could and should be very good. It has loads going for it : prime location, good looking building, cool lobby, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds, decent sized rooms for NYC. However, the rooms and corridors are in need of attention. Don't get a back room on the lower levels (like I did, before I asked to be moved), noisy outside with the hotels air conditioning units, a poor nights sleep guaranteed. But, it's the little things that stick. Quite trivial things really, bu... Read more

First time in New York and we found The Empire to be ideally situated to allow us to explore. Just a leisurely stroll away from Times Square and right next to the Lincoln Centre and Central Park. The room was compact but clean. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and did all they could,to assist us if we had a question or needed advice. My only small complaint is that they do not offer free wifi in your room. It is however, available in reception. We intend to return New Yor... Read more

Can I start by expressing my sincere thanks to employee David at the check-in and check-out desk. He was very calm, respectful and helpful. I had a terribly busy schedule during my stay, and he made sure I was informed about all my options before checking out. The location, the lobby (which is rather small but pretty impressive), the room: Empire has all these things going for it, but in the end what matters most to me on a professionally oriented trip to NYC like this is the commitment and dedi... Love the location, the lobby area, & the room (though VERY small, nyc afterall...) it's nice to have a (albeit very small) pool for the kids! Some of the painting is a bit sloppy, but overall DEFINITELY recommend!!!

We picked this hotel for its location near central park and is well placed fo the bus and subway, it is a good half hour walk away from madness of times square. The lobby area is nice but the rooms could do with a bit of an update. The maintenance standard are not great as the bathroom door in my parents roon still had decorators tap on it and the plug sockets were loose. They charge for everything from the internet/WIFI to the coffee inthe rooms. Although the WIFI is free in the lobby. $8 for ... Read more

While your establishment was nicely located I was disappointed in the rooms and the fact that coffee was not complimentary to each room and the prices were very high for a small cup which came with the coffee maker. The rooms appeared old.

Staff is too cool and faux hip to exercise humanity or compassion. If you are staying here because it's close to Mt Sinai forget it. No food service after 10 pm and when I explained I had just spent 17 hours at the hospital and asked if someone could just bring up a bowl of soup from the dining room, I got a cold "Sorry we can't it's policy" speech.

Empire hotel has a very good situation, close to Central Park and Columbus Circle. You can go walking to main places in New York like Times Square, MOMA or Metropolitan. We were one week and we were very comfortable. We had the subway very close, and directly connected with downtown Manhattan. The worse of our visit is WIFI system, it doesn't work very well and you must pay for it in your rooms.

Fantastic stay ... aircon noisy .... only complaint. Brilliant position with handy subway connections and walking easy to Central Park. Friendly and helpful team. Rooftop area a real treat at the end of a long walking day!
