Stayed here for 9 nights. We got an upgraded room as our original room had it's view blocked by construction scaffolds. The staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are modern, location is great for exploring New York and the complementary gym access is also a great extra! Our only gripe was with poor soundproofing, as we could clearly hear every single noise or even normal conversation from the hallway.

This was our first time in New York, dream midtown was a perfect location for all the sites and a subway right outside for sites further afield! The staff were fantastic and helpful! We had a room at the back of the hotel, this didn't offer much in the view department however it was so quiet. In such a busy city this was amazing for a good night sleep. The room was plenty big enough and a massive bathroom. It was spotless and kept like that all week. A turn down service was also offered :) the r... Read more

Everything was lovely. While the room was small,is what you would expect in NYC, and it was delightful and efficient. When I arrived I had a sweet little "love" note from the staff, welcoming my stay, and encouraging me to reach out if I needed anything. As an added surprise and delight, they provided next to the love note some Dylan's candies, which were delicious.

Great location. Catered to bar scene more than to hotel guests; PHD co-opted one elevator leaving 1 plus a small service elevator for hotel guests. Not even a complimentary cup of coffee/tea available for hotel guests. I will try some other "great location" expensive hotel on my next trip.

Lovely hotel in great location, 5-10 minutes in one direction to Times Square and the same in the other direction to Central Park. Check in was efficient but a smile would have been nice. Room a little on the small size, the norm for NY, and had scaffolding all up the outside of the building. We queried this as didn't want to be woken by builders noise and we were assured there was no work going on. Strangely enough during our 3 day stay we never heard or saw builders, so why the scaffolding.... Read more

20-30 bags of trash on sidewalk on the day we arrived. However, this is the case in most of New York. Elevators are not very good and very very slow. Not a family seeming Hotel. Seems to cater to couples or people that are single. Good location, however most hotels in the area are in good locations. I could hear someone snoring all the way down the hall. Pretty pictures on the website mask the fact that (i) rooms are very small - barely big enough for a king bed; (ii) bathroom is unbelievably small with a vanity sink and no place to put one's toiletries; and (iii) water pressure/hot water availability are not sufficient and inconsistent given the price one pays for this room. I cannot recommend the hotel.

Great hotel. But patio was managed by third party even though there is not a dress code. According to the hotel staff. The door man still wanted to pick and choose who was allowed on the hotels roof top patio. So my fiancé and I just left and walked to Columbus circle to enjoy our evening. The hotel is really great but the night life at the hotel was a terrible experience for us.

Great bed, great shower, great room, perfect location. The only downer was slow small elevators and my room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and air freshener that aggravated my asthma all weekend. It was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel but not sure if it just recently converted or if a previous guest had broken the rules -- either way, it was pretty bad. The hotel has a bar/club attached to it, so the number of elevators available goes down at night as lobby staff shuttles partiers up to the... Read more

My wife and I stayed for four nights last week. We were impressed with this hotel. Courteous staff, clean room, exceptionally comfortable bed, peaceful room despite central location, friendly guy on reception, I could go on. My wife and I were given a free upgrade to a room with a king size which we appreciated. I would use again and recommend.

I found the room tiny, with the bed occupying most of the space, leaving just enough area for one person to walk along the edges. Fridge was stuffed full of overpriced drinks that could not be removed because of sensors, leaving zero room for leftover cream cheese and other food items that had to be thrown away. But location was excellent, being just off Times Square and a short walk from Central Park and Columbus Circle
