Stayed at the Doubletree on Lexington Avenue for three days on June 15th. I used to live in Manhattan. Fernando the Front Desk Manager could not be more helpful. A real pro. Hotel is very clean, excellent maid service, just a great operation at a very convenient hotel MRM

Really ; some kind of room service (and add the scrambled eggs to the continental breakfast; Europeans want fruit and proteins for breakfast, not starch and sugar; yet, nave to admit, the "what to do" info service is really good (whilst I actually thought I knew NYC)

Location is great, staff is helpful. There were huge tour groups, so the lobby and area in front of the hotel were packed every morning. Not a big deal. Rooms are nicely appointed, very comfortable bed. A few problems, especially if you have any mobility challenge, and are in an 'accessible' room: 1. Only 1 phone in the room, on the desk, nothing near the bed. 2. Room 1638 - the sink was so slanted that anything I put on it fell into the sink 3. No shelf for toiletries near the sink. 4. Acc... This hotel is super well located, near subway with tons of restaurants nearby. It's not luxurious or glamorous, but good for business travel or family. There isn't a full restaurant on the premises, but there is a bar and breakfast is served in their grill. Hotel is clean but a bit tired(wallpaper peeling). Staff varied from very on the ball to lackadaisical. Our room wasn't ready at 3pm to check in even though I did check in online and after 40 mins we got up from our seats in the lobby and t... I love this hotel for its great location next to subway which is just 1station away from Grand Centre Station. My original plan was to stay in this hotel for 4 nights on our company trip. After which I had make a free cancellation on the other hotel in Broadway for my extended trip. The front desk staff Franklin was extremely friendly and helpful and tried his very best to get a best deal for me for another 3 nights. So we stay on and was glad we made the right decision to stay. At Lex and 51st, you can't beat this location for meetings in midtown east. However, the rooms are old. The doors don't properly close so you have to slam it. The doors to the bathroom are warped due to the moisture. Rooms are clean though. Breakfast buffet is fine but bad price performance. Diner around the corner. Go there. The cookie at checkin is a nice touch. I got a great great on Expedia for $220/nt so I can't complain but if you pay any more than $300/nt, I think you will be disappoint... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights in June. Fleetweek, Heatwave and Memorial Day Weekend. Located next to two subway stations, one right outside the door, one a block away, both taking you anywhere in the city. I found it a leisurely 20 mins slow walk to times square and central park. 1 or 2 blocks away on Lexington, you can jump on hop on hop off bus, the sellers can be found on the corner, turn left out of hotel. This hotel is in an awesome location. Easy access to the subway, walking distance to a ton of restaurants and shopping. We were upgraded upon check-in when I let them know it was my son's birthday. The hotel was clean, smelled great and the staff were all very friendly. The only thing that didn't make this an excellent review for me was the lack of coffee in the room, but there is a coffee shop next door, down the street and Starbucks is on the corner.

The Doubletree on Lexington is a pretty solid hotel. One of the best priced hotels in the area. It's fairly close (walkable in nice weather) to the theatre district, which was our main desire. The hotel itself was clean and in good condition. The woman at the front desk was friendly and expeditious. The bar area in the lobby looked decent, although we did not go to the bar. Plenty of elevators to access the rooms. Our room itself was tidy and comfortable, and fair-sized as NYC rooms go. ... Read more

We checked into the Doubletree for just one night. Our experience was wonderful. It started with a young lady named Swapna at the Hilton Honors desk. She checked us in very quickly, asked which floor we'd like, gave us warm cookies (for Hilton Honors customers) and all with a smile on her face! This is a clean, lovely hotel but the best thing is the mid-town Manhatten location!

I usually stay further west but this trip joined others at the Metropolitan on Lexington at 51st, and was happy with the choice. For this prime midtown area, the room was a good value. It seemed recently redone to a nice standard, with high quality bedding. The lobby isn't much, but the coffee shop is fine for breakfast and there's a cozy bar. Restaurants from sandwich shops to fine dining are nearby. I'd certainly stay there again for both the value and the location.

Hotel location is convenient to Fifth Avenue, Central Park and the subway. Room we were given was roomy and very clean. Shower plumbing needed attention. Small windows looked out on dark walls and inadequate lighting made reading impossible. Decor needs a refresh. No coffee making facilities was a surprise for a hotel of this category. We stayed at this hotel for a weekend family trip to NYC with our two young children (ages 6 and 8). We had stayed here as a couple several years earlier and had good memories of it. Our recent stay wasn't quite what we remembered from before, but it was still decent. We were attending a function at the Waldorf, which is only a block away, but this hotel was so much cheaper and better value. The room was modern, clean and quite spacious. Nice little bar on the ground floor which we visited on our first evening (drinks not cheap but this is NYC). I will definitely stay here again if I need a hotel in the area.

Had a great time in New York. We stayed at the Doubletree hotel and every review was correct. The room was very small we didn't get the room with the view of the city which I really wanted but it was ok. It really stay busy in the lobby. People sitting around relaxing having drinks and just enjoying themselves. We ate at The Smith restaurant which was delicious! Would love to stay at another hotel that service free breakfast and have a coffee maker in the room.

It is pretty hard to just choose the word excellent because it is also relative to the type of property itself. So, in this case, I would recommend this particular Doubletree as very good. It is not luxurious but practical in terms of a good location. The room we had was very clean, everything worked and in NYC that can be a challenge. Quick business trip to NYC. Stayed overnight due to an early start. Location fine for midtown east. While room seemingly renovated, the AC funtioned poorly -- a stuffy 78 degrees. Bed was a thin marshmallow (is that even possible?!!?). Worst sleep in NYC hotel. Shower + bath disaster. Shower head fell into 4 pieces when I turned the water on. Bath filled up with 4 inches of water. Sink clogged. Great start to the day. All this for a $300 a night room. Nuts!

Stayed here on business in June 2016. The check-in was smooth and cheery even with a late arrival post midnight. The warm cookie helps. The room was just as I remember it from several stays from a decade ago...except slightly updated with new carpet, bed back, accents and bathroom. The room is among the larger ones in NYC and manages to be quiet even while being bang in the middle of all the Midtown action. The Staff is very helpful, especially the two concierges, Julio- the person that helps you with the taxis you at entrance- and the waitresses at breakfast place and bar. The food they serve is very good. I strongly recommend it.

Very nice location in midtown. Clean room and very convinient. Had all the necessities. Internet was fast. Did not try the restaurant but went for the bar. It was good. Had an independent salon and barber that could accessed also from the street. Tour counters available. Lots of restaurants, diners, shops and convinient stores around as well. From the moment you step out of your cab, the bellman greets you with a kind smile. You walk inside and the staff in the lobby will assist you with any of your needs, and does so with a laugh and makes you feel like family. The staff at the desk makes sure your check-in process goes smoothly, and they will wish you well as you go out on your travels, and say "welcome home!" upon your return to the hotel. I recently stayed here two weekends in a row, mainly because of the price, I confess. Compared to other Hiltons in Manhattan, the Doubletree Metropolitan often offers rates of less than 200 dollars including all the New York taxes. However, avoid the front desk as much as you can--they are impolite and peremptory, with a sense of authority cherished by people who love uniforms. The Metropolitan Grill offers breakfast to order, but don't do it unless you have at least 30 minutes to spare. And... Read more

Uber will get you wherever else you want to go. I really like being close to Central Park, as well as Fifth Avenue and (ridiculously) priced shopping. It was fun to window shop anyway. Got to the hotel early and decided to check in my bags so that I could go for a walk. I was shocked to discover that the hotel actually charged a fee to drop off and pick up bags! Location is great, but there are other hotels that have great locations too. The front desk staff is borderline rude and the room smelled like a terrible case of body odor. At first, my roommate (mom) and I accused each other, but eventually realized it was the walls, doors, etc. Just bring a bottle or two of fabreze and remember that most people hate their jobs. That will help make it a decent stay...hopefully.

We stayed here for 3 nights the room was nice and clean and our room was on a higher floor. We booked with another couple but they were put on a lower floor. Staff were nice, especially the guy on the desk who arranged an SUV to take the four of us to the airport. The only negative is that due to the fire and police stations being close we were being woke up throughout the night but can't blame the hotel for this. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Overall a solid hotel. I have stayed here a few times for business. It is very conveniently located, and the hotel itself is clean and "functional." Nice bar in the lobby. The staff is always nice and accommodating (albeit my Diamond status probably helps). The rooms are typical boutique type, so don't expect loads of space. This is a small frontage, very busy hotel. The person who checked us in, as Hilton Honors member, should certainly have some training in customer service. She was stern faced, unwelcoming and had no personality at all. Think of "computer says no" on Little Britain and you get the picture. However, during our three night stay, we encountered some really pleasant reception staff, so I guess you have to say that there is always one! The location of the property is perfect - right in midtown with easy walking to 5th Avenue, Times Square, Bryant Park, Central Park and much more. The staff at Doubletree were accommodating and very friendly. We got upgraded to a room with a king bed upon request at check in. The room was very spacious for New York and clean. Let's starts with the good. The hotel is decently priced And the room, although super tiny, was clean. And that is about all I can say that is positive. This area of midtown isn't great for dining on the weekends. Options are limited. Also, the hotel is very large and the common areas are not well maintained. They are worn and not very clean. Overall, this is just a so so hotel. For price you can do better.

Nice hotel, clean rooms, good daily maid service. Only downside no coffee/tea in rooms. However we asked for a kettle and one was provided so take sacchets of coffee or teabags. Reception and bar area is large and good atmosphere lots of people sit and drink there however apart from the lady that served us day one, the men need to smile more. One evening we felt that the bar man offered poor service so did not leave the 20% tip just a portion of it, he actually ran after us and stopped the lif... Read more

Massive lines to check in, shell shocked staff not really knowing what they were doing. Room not proactively de-feathered despite requests in advance. Constant noise from elevators The bar and lobby is a zoo ... Bags everywhere Breakfast buffet - for a hotel of this size frankly a joke This was potentially the last strike for Hilton ...

We upgraded our room on arrival from a double room, to a room with two double beds. This was no problem at all and only cost $120 extra which we were pleased with. There was plenty of room for me and my friend and our shopping :-) the bathroom was small, but did the job. Our room was tidied each day and our beds made. We did return early one day, about 4pm, and the room hadn't been tidied. They knocked on at about 5pm to clean but we asked if they could come back at 6:30pm when we'd gone out aga... Read more

Hotel is nice, not quite as close to main attractions as I'd hoped. We arrived about an hour before check in and they were able to get us in a room. The day we checked out they held our bags for us for a reasonable fee of $8.00. The honors counter next to the concierge was a little pushy with the Hilton points membership meeting but that's nothing unusual. Overall a nice hotel.

I arrived at this hotel hoping to have a great stay as my previous holidays with the Doubletree group have always been brilliant. Unfortunately this was not the case at this hotel! On arrival I was told my room would be a queen sized room (to share with my 16 year old son) I had to explain this was not what I booked and had to provide evidence to prove it which was not a good start. I was then told that even though I was a HHonors member I would not be getting wifi for the room or a late ch... Read more

Generally I would call the hotel average but am giving it a Very Good due to the value for money. I booked a last minute room for under $300 which is very good for NYC, Mid-Town in December. The hotel was a great location especially for my client on the west side of 5'th avenue but far enough from various traffic disruptions (Rockefeller Center, Trump Tower, etc.) I had a room on the 16'th floor, a HIlton Honors floor. A King Room, with one chair and a good work space. Good internet, available... Read more

Vicki could not have been more welcoming and it gave us the perfect start to our NYC weekend getaway. The room is perfect! The staff are personable and the service is top notch. Recommend this hotel without hesitation. Be sure to find Vicki at the front desk!

Too much of the staff was unhelpful. TV didn't work and wasn't repaired until the third try. Had to open the window to cool the room. Well we had a wonderful 40th anniversary we were very disappointed in this Hilton property. It was not up to standard of a Hilton property. It wasn't horrible. Probably just a step below average or adequate.

Room was lovely and clean and had 2 double beds and plenty of room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just don't eat breakfast there. It was mega Expensive! Location was very good with a subway entrance almost opposite and not far to walk to a lot of the must see sights
