Location was good. There is construction around but where is there not construction? It certainly does not bother you when you are back in your room for the night. The staff here is great, so genuinely warm and accommodating. Especially Sebas, Dwayne and Cristal. They made sure we had everything we needed and could not have been more helpful, professional and courteous. "Don't worry about a thing we'll take care of it" is their vibe. Simply the best hotel. This hotel is very nice, but also it's close to the A Train at 35th at 8th Avenue. There's lots of smiles - shoutout to the bartenders and front desk. I was in town for 89WNYU Radio.

The front office staff were friendly and conscientious. Housekeeping was less than stellar, with no hand towels or wash clothes in the room for a day and 1/2, even with calls to fix the problem. Food at breakfast (I ordered, did not do the buffet) arrived cold and with eggs prepared incorrectly - oh, well. Doubt anything can be done about the construction noise, but it was very loud and hard on the brain. I was on the second floor with new buildings going up or being torn down all around.

Great hotel for NYC. Rooms were smaller, but that's normal for NYC. The bathroom was soooo hot. Had to keep the door open while showering. Special thanks to Richard "Richy Rich" Gonzalez, just awesome! Super knowledgeable and friendly. That was greatly appreciated!

The staff was very friendly and helpful especially for directions. The breakfast restaurant is reasonable and quite good. The room was small so it gets cramped when traveling with the family. There is construction going on across the street that is quite noisy. A building is being torn down and no doubt a new one will take its place.

I was in this Hotel in June 2016, it was smelly, I had no hot water for two days, the room was so small I was hardly able to open my suitcase completely. The service was not good, but the worst part is the location. It was surrounded by garbage and the area was downright dirty and it felt very unsafe at night. I travel for work about 50-60 nights per year. The staff here are the best I have encountered. Not among the best, THE best. To a person, they made me feel like I was the only guest in the hotel. Truly special. Don't overlook this Doubletree, especially if you have business at the Javits Center as its only a short walk away. Property is probably due for a mild facelift. My husband and I traveled to NYC Thurs Sept 15 to Monday 19th. We stay the entire time here. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet. The only thing we were missing was a mini fridge to keep our beer cold. But ice machine was right outside our door which we used instead. Perfect location! This is out of the fray of Times Square, but still nicely situated with good coffee shops and other shops closely be. Easy to get taxis and buses near by. About 14 blocks from the center of Times Square. The hotel facility itself is really tired and the rooms very small for two people with a fair amount of luggage. They couldn't upgrade us, saying that all of the rooms are the same size, but it doesn't look that way on the layout of the hotel in the rooms. Staff was very nice, and front des... Read more

Small room but that's to be expected in NYC, comfy beds and good pillows, very quiet both the rooms and hotel itself (which is good in this busy area). Didn't try the food appart from the delicious cookies. The bar and in room dining closes way to early though. Overall I would recommend it at a not busy time so maybe the rate is not that expensive (1500$ for 4 nights that's a lot I think, especially end of September). Room is clean, staff is very nice and helpful.
