Check in was very quick and easy. We were given a room on the 4th floor. We asked for a higher floor if possible but they didn't have one the day we checked in. They were nice and offered us one when a room opened up but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway so didn't mind. The room was clean and had dishes, coffee maker, and basically everything you need for a kitchen. We stayed for 6 nights and had no housekeeping, which was nice. We needed towels a few times and was easy to just call... Read more

Very well furnished suite, not very big, but with comfy beds, kitchen, fridge, coffee machine, microwave, even dishwasher. Big bathroom for disabled people with movable shower so rarely seen the US. Free laundry self-service was highly appreciated. Walking distance to Times Square and other NY attractions. Friendly Staff. We felt almost like at home.

We had a great stay at Candlewood. The location was perfect, close to Times Square and subway. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. This is an extended stay lodging so room cleaning is only once a week but they gladly changed our towels every day. The room was clean, bed comfortable and having a full kitchen was a joy. Yes you'll read there are only 2 small elevators but we were never inconvenienced, we just allow a little extra time to go where we wanted to go.

Candlewood has a kitchenette, which is a joy after a couple of weeks of travelling. There are grocery markets nearby, we found great meat and vegetables at reasonable prices. The hotel is close to Times Square and subway. Our room has a queen bed, desk, and lounge chair, as well as a very large fridge. There is a free laundry downstairs also. The located of the hotel is great for doing all the touristy things - walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, 5th Avenue, MoMA etc. However, it is super busy in this area as it is close to all the main attractions. Room was good, comfortable, however the decor probably need an update, but you pay for what you get. Staff were pleasant, not that helpful about recommendations on best ways to secure Broadway tickets.

On a previous trip to NYC stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next door. What I liked better about it: breakfast included. What I like better about Candlewood is pretty much everything else. No free breakfast but the room had a fridge, stove, microwave, and was stocked with what you need to do a little dining in. Nice to be able to bring leftovers home too. The room was bigger than next door. Clean and comfortable. Somehow quieter and the elevator was a good bit faster. Hardly ever waited and I wa... Read more

On the whole a positive experience, although there were a few glitches, like when we came back tired from a day of museum hopping on our last day and found our door keys didn't work anymore. Also some of the equipment for the kitchen was challenged. But the staff quickly replaced the broken items. We stayed on the 30th floor to get above the street noise, but I think I'd pick a more mid-level floor next time, just so going up and down didn't take so long. Nice staff, efficient and friendly. I have just finished an NYC stay with 3 nights at Candlewood Suites NYC. The location is fantastic and very central so it is great for exploring NYC. In terms of facilities it isn't great (on site groceries/shop overpriced, dishwasher broke and not fixed despite asking). Nonetheless as a place to touch base, sleep and shower it is fine but don't expect anything luxury.

I travel to NYC a number of times each year. I always stay at this hotel, because staff are professional, room is clean, and I can good a good sleep. This visit was no different. I did notice that the tub had no plug, the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, and the covering on the desk chair was wearing off. I told the person at the front desk, and they would be fixing them.

Stayed for 10 days as a couple for a holiday in NYC. Considering you walk everywhere, and the subway would be most people's mode of transport around Manhattan, Candlewood Suites in Times Square places you right in the middle of mid-town - a short walk to all Broadway theaters (which was one of the main reasons for visiting NY). The location for the cost makes it very affordable for a couple, though I may not recommend for a single traveler. Be fully aware that as a self-serviced apartment, the h... Read more

Not the best hotel around, rooms very worn and tired. Laundry in the basement with free washing and drying which is good. Not restaurant for breakfast so you have to go hunting for food in the morning. Is close to Hells Angel flea market which is not that great, but you never know you might find a gem. The prices for a flea market seemed a bit high.

I stayed here in March 2016. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The front desk agents were efficient and friendly. Very much a budget-minded hotel in the heart of NYC, the amenities were very nice and clean. I stayed in a kitchen suite. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to stay in Manhattan! The property is average, because of my status at IHG I got a high floor room. There was no street noise. But some noise from guests outside my room. The location is great. Candlewood Suites is strategically located in midtown Manhattan on the west side. I am familiar with their operation as I have stayed in them in Pennsylvania. They are designated as long term stay hotels. Housekeeping is done once a week, but any necessities, soap, clean towels, etc can be requested from the front desk. This is within close walking distance from 42nd & Port Authority (where bus from Newark arrives/departs) and reasonable walking distance from 34th & Penn Station. Reception desk staff are friendly and efficient, Rooms are well equipped - but surprisingly with no provisions although fear not as the International Grocery is around the corner on 9th along with other good value shops to allow you to stock up. Stayed high and at the back: no view but it was quiet with the windows closed - great ... Read more

I visited the hotel 2nd time in 2 years on official purpose. The hospitality of the hotel members is very nice. I always love the stay at the hotel maybe because of the kitchen net provided as we can cook our food ourselves. A nice place to be in when u are travelling to NY.

We chose this accommodation first because it was not a hotel. There are only 6 rooms per floor, so it was quiet. Our stay was for 10nights and we wanted a "kitchenette" where we could have a simple breakfast of cereal, toast, tea/coffee or buy something to heat up. The fridge was large if you wanted to stock up. The microwave was also large. There are an abundance of stores nearby where you can buy groceries, pre-packed meals, alcohol etc. The accommodation was not 5 star. It could use a bit of ... Read more

I stayed in this hotel for 2 months. The location is perfect, near the Times Square, close to subway station. The rooms are small, but offer everything you need - kitchen with cooking option, fridge. Bottom line, perfect for longer stay

We never write reviews and in fact just signed up to Trip Advisor for one reason... To let people know if you are planning on visiting Manhattan, New York for a holiday then do not book at Candlewood Suites near Times Square. Worst experience we've ever had. Was looking forward to New York and this place drained us! To name a few things: 1. Charged $2500 more than what we needed to pay, money was slowly released weeks later after countless efforts to call and clear up what happened. Meant we ... Read more

Great option if you're visiting NY! It's really well located, near Times Square. Very good equipated, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, bread toaster and kitchen supplies. The rooms has the perfect size, with a nice bathroom and excellent bed. The staff is very nice and helpful. Inside the hotel there's a small grocery with basic stuff, frozen meals, ice cream, bread, etc. Keep in mind that they don´t have cleaning service, you have to call the reception to get new towels. This was not a problem f... Read more

Excellent location with everything I needed for a business stay. I found the room, kitchenette, and bathroom to be very comfortable and easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and attentive. Given the ease of every aspect of my reservation, I would choose to stay here again.
