TV did not work the entire stay and because it was raining we were forced indoors. Was told Time Warner was working on it from the minute we checked in til the minute we checked out. I don't think Time Warner was actually working on it. Internet only on the roof AND in lobby, again no. The rooms could use improvements such as bright paint and cheap lamps from Ikea to start. Bath mat in tub was torn and dirty. The tub stops up during showers. Though it's close to Broadway just not what I expecte... Read more

short and sweet....great price, great beds, great lounge , great showers in the heart of the theater district . Literally the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in . Walking distance to all Broadway shows , Times Square and hells Kitchen . Great drink and late night menu in the lounge Yes the rooms are small but who cares? They are clean , well kept and comfortable and why are you spending time hanging out in your room with all the cool stuff to do right outside the front door?

We were honestly so pleasantly surprised by this hotel! I had read the reviews and seen the photos online and decided to give it a go, thinking it would be a very basic but well priced hotel in a good location. My expectations have been far exceeded! The rooms (or at least the room we are in) have been updated since the photos and the decor is beautiful. The mirrors and chandeliers make the rooms modern and stylish. We stayed here last week for our birthday presents to ourselves, and after reading some of the negative comments previously, we were delighted with what we found. Given that we were in the heart of NY, we didn't expect a suite, but were certainly comfortable for our week's stay. The room was clean with sufficient storage, and the bed was amazingly comfortable (or was it just because we'd walked our socks off?). I stayed at this hotel a few years ago. I could tell that they have made improvements since then. There were many upgrades. It is a great location because not only is it in the heart of the theater district and close enough to Times Square (but without the crowds, bright lights and over-the-top noise), but it is also between two main train lines for the subway. The location of this hotel is great but that's about it. The rooms are tiny, we had no wardrobe and nowhere to store suitcases. There was only one plug for us to us which was in convenient. The shower was rubbish, if our neighbours were in the shower at the same time it would go scolding or freezing. The air con may as well have not been there. The maid forgot our towels. I stayed at Amsterdam Court Hotel for three days, and my overall experience met my expectations. My room seemed to have been recently renovated, and I was satisfied with the cleanliness. Although it was noisy at night, which might not be good for people with insomnia, the price of living so close to the Time Square and many theaters certainly outweighs the flaws. The staff at this hotel are amazing. They are so helpful and nice and made us feel at home. We also loved the roof deck and the amazing sun room next to it. What a great place to sit and relax after a busy day of touring around the city! The rooms may be small, but this public space certainly made up for it! The only downside with this hotel is the non-free wifi in the rooms.
