Ann Street might seem dodgy when arriving at night, but once you get to the Aloft, you can breath easy. You'll find that you're walking distance from South Street Seaport, Wall Street, and the Memorial. This is a basic hotel, providing the small, tidy rooms that contain everything you'll need, including things like an iron board, magazines that feature New York, and other stuff that make Aloft unique. The bathroom layout, at least in our room, might need some getting used to.

Our effort to choose a hotel room downtown with a nearby subway connection to Brooklyn and a good price led us to Aloft after reading so much about Starwood‚??s vaulted customer loyalty program. As a Hilton Diamond member for years who thought it time to try another brand for change, Aloft seemed positioned at the same level as Hilton‚??s Hampton Inns. Sadly, our stay at this Aloft proved there was no comparison. We disliked both the design of the Aloft and the low quality of our two-night sta... Read more

Rooms are only ok. Tight and loud from the rooms next door. Front desk customer service is apathetic at best, rude at worst with little to no regard for guest questions. This is NYC. There are plenty of hotels in far better locations than this one. Skip it and head to a non chain local boutique for the same price.

The Aloft is one of my favorite locations to stay in.I was overjoyed to see one in The Financial District. The hotel rooms are pretty small but they are beautifully designed. My room did had an okay view of the city. I just wish that the rooms were a bit large with more amenities!

the room and sevice from the employees was great and they were very nice. However, I woke up with bug bites all over my leg, more and more bites each night i stayed and I stayed 3 nights. The room was nice, but i'm not staying again at this hotel if i'm going to get bitten by unknown bugs.

I'm a Gold Starwood member and I've been staying in their properties for many nights. I also loved Aloft for their style and comfort. However this one is an exception which made me move away not only from Aloft, but I'm moving away from SPG! Long story short - they charged me for extra night, and after several calls with SPG support and the hotel they told they're going to refund extra charge. About a month later there was no refund and I talked to the SPG escalation team who assured I'm going t... Read more

The location of this Aloft was good for my business in NYC and pretty great for morning runs on the Brooklyn Bridge and commuting on the subway. I liked the smaller size and the hotel feels new and clean, but if you are familiar with this line of hotels, not as comfortable as a Westin in terms of bedding and room extras. The staff service was okay as check-in wasn't super fast with some complaining about how busy they were--look I get it--you have a full hotel that's why I'm paying so much to st... Read more

Our room was small, but comfortable, quiet, clean, and attractive. Good service with easy check in and check out. From the subway station a block away you can easily go anywhere in NYC. Plenty of restaurant and cafe options in the neighborhood. All in all recommended if all you need is a good place to rest and sleep while you work or play in NYC.

Just like the realtors say, it's all about location. If you're looking for a SPG property near the Sept 11 memorial and new tower, Wall Street, and most of this end of Manhattan this is a short walk away from everything. Typical of the aloft brand, there are no surprises...unless you're a novice to NYC. What's that mean? The rooms are not spacious, but they are functional. One think I wasn't keen on was the refrigerator. The unit in the rooms aren't like in other aloft properties, it was a... Read more

The Aloft Financial District is in a great location within the Financial District and most of the things you'll want to do there are easily walkable. The hotel itself was fine: modern, clean, upmarket stylish. The only problem we had was that the staff (who were all very nice) didn't follow through on a few things. When I checked in, I requested a bottle of champagne be sent up for my boyfriend's birthday and confirmed which I wanted, but it was never sent. (Luckily, I also wasn't charged for it... Read more

Hotel located in a sketchy looking part of downtown. It's also kind of difficult to find, so keep your eyes peeled if you stay here. The hotel has been newly renovated. Lobby is small, so are the rooms, but rooms are very nice, modern, and clean. Very short walk to One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. Dogs are allowed with no fee. There is NO valet, but a parking garage next door. You get a $7 discount/day for being a hotel guest ($43/day). There's no on-site room service, it's outsourced... Read more

Aloft is one of my favourite chains as they modern and offer services that matter to me. I've stayed in many Alofts in US, Europe and Asia in the past and I can say that this one is at the bottom of my list. I arrived quite late. Check-in was fast and effortless. However, when I arrived in my room it turned out that I was assigned the one where that day's maintenance party was going on. 3 or 4 guys were hanging in there, watching TV and generally having fun. We stayed for 1 night here in accessible room probably because the normal standard rooms were all booked out. This is a no-frills hotel much like most of the Alofts globally but the rooms were a good size with ample space to open up 2 big luggages. I liked the modern look and feel of this hotel plus it has pretty comfortable beds. We enjoyed living in downtown for a change, this is probably a good choice if you're a business traveler. The hotel is located on a narrower street in the heart of Financial District within steps of the Fulton and Chambers St stations. The rooms are small (standard for Financial District) but everything worked and was clean and efficient. Bath products were by Bliss. There was a simple coffee maker, hair dryer and iron in the room. We chose this hotel for a last minute getaway to NYC. It's a cool place with super friendly and accommodating staff. This was our first boutique hotel, it's a lot different than a traditional hotel but we liked the feel. Yes, the room was small but we expected that. Very comfy bed, very quiet for sleeping so overall considering we were running around seeing the city, it worked out perfectly. We would stay again! Subway stop just steps away so very convenient too. All around good experience!

The location is good. Really close to the financial district. There is a subway a minute or so away. The room is small and the bathroom is attached to the bedroom - you can separate the toilet by dragging a sliding door. The bed is extremely comfortable. To be honest - In New York you spend all day outside and only use the room to sleep or freshen up. Overall for the location is a good price and the room is comfortable.

I just started staying at the Aloft Hotel in Manhattan. First, the rooms are well-appointed, clean and comfortable. I also love that they feature Bliss spa products. But, the best reason for staying at the Aloft is their team. Mike Cohen and his staff are excellent. I had booking snafu through SPG.com and Mike handled it for me quickly and was professional and easy to work with at every turn. I would highly recommend this hotel for business travelers!

The room was tiny but the bed was very comfortable. It is close too many restaurants and shops and metro. The staff was quite helpful. Stayed here recently for a few days. The hotel is very central for downtown and financial district and has quite a cool feel but you should be aware that the rooms are small. I stay in a lot of NYC hotels and know space is a premium but my room was the smallest I have ever had in any city.
