Staff was very friendly unfortunately the rooms are extremely dirty.... black mold in the bathroom, soap scum all over the tiles in the shower, feet marks on the bright walls, For the price you expect clean rooms and the room i got was very nasty.

Beautiful hotel and pool area. The staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming especially Martin and Winter. The pool side restaurant small selection but good food. Walking distance to plenty of great restaurants and Brooklyn brewery I highly recommend this hotel

The McCarren Hotel is the best spot for staying in Williamsburg, and arguably the best hotel right now in Brooklyn. The location overlooking McCarren Park, and only one block away from the main shopping strip of Bedford is unbeatable. As for the hotel itself the decor is modern and sleek, and the rooms are comfortable and have great balconies overlooking the park. But what puts McCarren over the top is the amazing pool situated right in the heart of the hotel. The atmosphere is lively, the loung... Read more

Crude, inept service from the staff, thin-walled rooms with no carpeting that are noisy inside and out, amenities that all close or end early, and the rooftop bar is an exercise in poor taste (with no real views). This would be a good hotel for 21 year olds, or people who havent traveled much and don't expect anything better. There are a dozen better hotels in the city for the price and many other rooftop bars of far higher caliber.

$100 to use the chase lounges at the pool for guests of the hotel! $300+ for non guests. Condition of room furnishings very poor. Staff was nice and tried to be helpful but not much they could do. Construction next to the room during the day's woke up early.

My boyfriend and I were staying at the McCarren for a long weekend in May - we consider ourselves well-traveled and have stayed in a variety of hotels before so really felt the need to share our feedback: Negatives: 1. The noise - throughout the day there is a pool party which ends at 9pm. The party then moves to the Rooftop (floor 8) and finishes at 2/3am. We were on floor 4 and our whole room was reverberating with the music base. The lifts are also overcrowded with drunk people going in and... Read more

Nice hotel. Get the top floor if you can. Great view. Dayana at the front desk was fabulous and took great care of me. Go somewhere else for breakfast though. The little cafe in the lobby doesn't cut it.

Had a great experience in this hotel - great staff and superb pool. Unbelievably fabulous bar on the roof with an uninterrupted view of the Manhattan skyline. Only downside is the lack of a public lounge as the room had no chairs. Many fab bars and restaurants in the area.

Great service from start to finish. Dyana on the front desk was very friendly and we were made to feel really welcome. Martin was also really helpful and gave us plenty of information. The only annoying thing was that we couldn't make full use of the pool and loungers because of a private event which we hadn't been told about at check in. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed because the pool looked cool, and it is, but we found so much more to do out and about that we ended up always somewhere instead of the pool. Room was very clean and nice, well appointed - overall a great spot! Give it a thumbs up for great staff also!

Martin was extremely helpful regarding the hotel amenities and the area in general. He saved us a possible tow of our rental car when he discussed parking around the hotel which was greatly appreciated. I would visit this hotel again if I were sure to have Martin in our corner! I thought the pricing for the pool when it came to people who were visiting me a little over the top but other than that, the room was great, the bed very comfortable.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a 5 night stay at the McCarren Hotel which we booked via the British Airways website last year and got a great deal. We were both looking forward to the more laid back atmosphere of Brooklyn and the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan at the end of the day. As the months passed by, more and more reviews and articles appeared via social media of the McCarren and the rooftop bar and the pool area. It quickly became apparent that the McC... Read more

Great service, fun decor, beautiful pool. It was occasionally noisy, but that was mostly due to nearby construction. Rooms are well appointed and the decor is both sleek and playful. Hotel staff, especially Martin, were very helpful.

Stood here a few days ago. Nice modern room, but kinda small. But then again, it is NY. Pool was my favorite, although I didn't like that I had to pay $100 for the pool bed. The hostess, Esther I believe was her name, was very helpful and did her best to accommodate us. I recommend to anyone staying in the NYC area.

I phoned the hotel hoping to treat my son & his spouse to a couple welcoming beers to wash away their hellish trip (two cancelled flights, two delayed flights and lost luggage, not to mention the long line for a cab). Kyara answered my plea with the very kind and generous offer of complimentary drinks and breakfast too! Wow, talk about going above and beyond to make a guest feel welcome! You rock Kyara and so does the McCarren!

We are a family with teenagers and chose the hotel as it has a pool and we were visiting in summer and it has a highly publicised roof top bar. Hotel staff (in particular Martin) and rooms were fantastic, some style, comfort and no attitude, the facilities that drove our decision were pumping with serious party people...making it a little awkward to stick around with teenagers. I recommend this hotel if you want stylish rooms, great Brooklyn location and lots of people watching but perhaps not... Read more

We stayed 4 nights in July in a double bed room. The + : location is great, near the heart of Brooklyn's Williamsburg area, with a great ambiance, day and night. Great restaurants and bars and shops. The pool is beautiful, big enough to swim and closes at 9 pm so the rooms on the swimmimgpool are rather quiet at night. The fitness room is amazingly big and well equipped. Good location in Williamsburg, but the pool parties on the weekend were way too loud and way too crowded. Not a good place for families with children who would like to use the pool in the evenings, and for adults looking to relax after a long day touring the city.

The pool is open to the paying public, hundreds of people partying. The noise was unbearable. Impossible to rest. I have stayed here before, but this was not happening. The rooms used to be comfortable and quiet, but not when it is too noisy to get any sleep or rest.

DAYANA at the front desk has always been so nice and helpful. For every need we had, both with our stay and for touring. MARTIN was so full of attention and care at our check out and when we had to rent a car to the airport he got us the best option and very cheap. Superb and High professional personnel. The Pool is great in the morning before opening up to outside guests. A really oasis in Brooklyn.

Stayed here on a my first trip to NY. Happened to arrive on memorial day, and it was a scorcher, so the pool was rammed with people. The rooms were small but comfortable and the sleeping pills from the minibar knocked me straight out so I didn't have any problems with jet lag. Very friendly service, in fact everybody at the hotel was nice - the roof top bar was awesome. Will definitely be staying there again next time.

Booked this hotel on short notice when I realized how hot NYC was going to be during my visit and my daughter's apartment didn't have air conditioning. That said, I didn't read others' reviews until after I was committed. I was worried about the noise, pool parties and DJ at the roof bar, but was pleasantly surprised. I had a really great experience. The desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and when I expressed concern about noise they offered me a room on the second floor away from the pool... Read more

The location, vibe, pool and views of the hotel are great. Also the rooms are clean and comfortable. However there are parties at the pool and the rooftop, that go on until 2 am at night. We were staying on the 6th floor and it was like we were at the party. Great if you're into that, not if you're on business and have to work the next day. Don't trust the website photos of this hotel. They make it look much nicer than it is. My overall impression is that you can get a lot more for this price even in Manhattan. Rooms are very small. Once inside the room I found the desk was falling off the wall, it had a large shim connecting it loosely to the wall that someone had placed in a cheap effort to fix it. The pool outside was much smaller than pictures suggest and the water looked dirty, cloudy and full of suntan lotion from outside gue... Read more

We stayed here for two nights and frankly, we were very happy to leave. The room we had was small with no drawers/closets to store anything. We've traveled to over 70 countries and not only was this one of the most expensive, it was the ONLY one where you don't even get a free bottle of water and an electric kettle in the room to fix a cup of tea/coffee-WOW is all i can say. Of course, we could buy a small bottle of water in the room for $5 or go downstairs to buy coffee. There were 2 glasses in... Read more

We went for a staycation (we live in brooklyn) and having a pool was seriously wonderful given that this past weekend felt like 110 degrees. The pool service was great, the room was lovely, and the staff helpful. However, the restaurant service was seriously lacking. They appeared understaffed, so it took over an hour to get brunch out.
