Excellent staff: thoughtful, mannerly, friendly, and efficient. Rooms were typical Manhattan small, but kitchenette was a pleasant surprise. Working in room was not an ergonomic option, but bed was comfortable. No restaurant on site and when it's raining, getting a bite to eat can be quite inconvenient w/o a raincoat or umbrella.

The general amenities of the hotel were good, although the decor was a bit dated. The bed was comfortable, but there was loud construction going on outside of the hotel that made it very difficult to sleep at night.

The comfort, service, staff, accommodations and location are the best despite the noisy subway construction, delivery trucks, and ambulances. Without hesitation, we will be returning customers. Hand-held shower head would be the only addition I would request.

We were a party of 5 staying at the Marmara celebrating my daughters 21st. The apartment could not have been better with large spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen, laundry room and excellent housekeeping. The views were breathtaking and although work is ongoing at this hotel we did not experience any problems. On a couple of mornings we did have workmen on our balcony but only for a short time and they made a point of not looking into apartment. While mentioning the balcony I must add that... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was fantastic - plenty of room with a kitchenette and a balcony. The room was serviced regularly and very clean. The staff very helpful and welcoming. It was a peaceful sanctuary from the noise and pace of the city. It also has a pool, small gym and Turkish bath in the basement which is great to relax in.

Hi have to say that this place was in a great location and felt like home. It was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it!! The place had tons of space which is rare for New York. It was also very quite and the beds were comfortable. This will be our go to place in New York for years to come.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom/3 bath suite in early June. It was a perfect fit for us vs. having 2 - 3 hotel rooms. The suite is large with kitchen & washer & dryer. As previous reviews state there is lots of construction near by however that wasn't a problem. All of the staff was real helpful & friendly! Many places to eat, drink or purchase groceries near by. Only complaint was the furniture was dirty.

Good location, friendly staff, clean and updated. Large too. Great value. Had a large two bedroom for the same price most hotels charge for one room. No room service but you can easily order in from any restaurants and the friendly staff will put groceries in your room too.

Stayed here for five days. The good things first - spacious apartments with all modern fittings and furnitures. Lots of storage space and courteous staff. The downside - it has seen better days, the hallway was dark and musty smelling, the bathroom sink drain rarely worked and the shower could have used a hand held, the building is under renovation and the noise is killing, we got a letter from the manager on arrival stating the renovation process which were not informed to us during reservation... Six friends stayed here for a girls weekend. The hotel is not located hear a lot of attractions but that was ok.. Central Park was approx 6 block away and a very easy walk. For the rest we used other various form of transportation. We visited the local bars each night and were welcomed into their neighborhood. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The room we stayed in was a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, suite with a living room area and small kitchen. It had everythin... Read more

I just got back from a 4 night stay at the Marmara. I stayed in a one bedroom suite. The suite was very big with a separate bedroom, full size kitchen, living room. It was very clean and conveniently located. The subway was approximately 2 blocks away and the bus was on the opposite corner of the hotel. The area is a residential area so it is a quiet area. Convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. The staff at the Marmara were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about ... Read more

The hotel met all of my expectations. The staff was extremely cordial, helpful and very accommodating. The rooms were clean, bright and spacious, and the kitchen had all of the appliances including a full-sized fridge ‚?? no minibars here. It‚??s in a residential neighborhood, not downtown, but within walking distance to the subway, Museum Mile, and the 2nd Ave. bus is right there. Loads of restaurants and supermarkets, and the hotel offers a list of good restaurants that deliver. Be prepared, t... Read more

Great position in an awesome neighborhood. All amenities nearby, bus at the door, subway 4 minutes walk away. Not in the bustle of midtown, some really nice restaurants and COFFEE nearby, just the place to indulge in New York living. Service of apartments of high standard daily, reception staff were pleasant and efficient. Would not hesitate to return!

We recently stayed at the Marmara so that we could be close to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where my sister was undergoing surgery. I reserved a "bigger" one-bedroom suite so that my mom and I could have separate sleeping quarters, and we loved having all the space and working kitchen. After having stayed at a more expensive Manhattan hotel where there was barely enough room to walk around the bed, it was simply luxurious. The hotel staff were very accommodating, helping us hail cabs, find a driver/car f... Read more

I was assigned to this hotel when I traveled to NYC to give a talk at one of the large hospital systems. My first clue that this was a somewhat strange place was the lobby - dark and cavernous and stuck in the 1970s. My room was actually a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom 'apartment' with a full kitchen, living and dining room. This would perhaps be a great place for someone who needed long-term accommodation while on a work visit to NYC. The room was clean, the bed moderately comfortable. The furniture an... Read more

If you are Ritz penthouse material this hotel may not be for you. However, I bet the staff is better here. Wonderful, friendly and professional is a huge understatement!!! My husband and I stayed in room 1102 a corner unit which had panoramic views of the city from the balcony. This was a treat as we had come to Manhattan for heart surgery and stayed at the Marmara until my husband had clearance to fly home. The unit was huge at over 1100 SF. Having two full bathrooms was very nice as my husband... Read more

Unfortunately there is no such a thing as negative 5 stars. That's too bad because this hotel really deserves it. Outdated rooms, poor customer service, unbelievable pricing for what this place has to offer, horrible location, I honestly did not find ONE positive thing. Will never ever go back to this horrible place again! Take a look at the room pics if you think i am exaggerating!

This place is a little run down and old but the customer service and location make up for it. We stayed 6 nights and had no problems... The room was serviced everyday and the lovely staff at the desk were more than willing to suggest places to visit and tours to take while visiting New York
