We have stayed at the Hotel Elysee almost every year for the last 30 years because of their commitment to excellent service and value. The rooms are comfortable and eloquently decorated. The location is conveniently located for walking to Broadway, Central Park and great shopping. Hotel Elysee is a quaint hotel along E54th. Very nice location with a homey feel. What made it such a great experience is how hands-on, welcoming and helpful the staff were from accommodating room or lounge requests, making reservations, up to seeing us off at the curb when we left. Very different from how other hotels, such as the one we stayed in along E48th made us feel during our previous trip.

The Hotel Elysee reminds me of the small hotels I have visited my whole life in Europe & is old fashioned almost like a pensione...with a great staff, very pleasant rooms and bathrooms and a great breakfast space with fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast & pastries - included in the room price. The room was lovely, the staff was friendly and accommodating and it was a quiet respite from the noisy and wonderful New York streets . The price was reasonable in terms of New York hotels of that quality and they provided a lovely breakfast and a cocktail hour in the early evening. It could not have been better. My wife and I spent last week at the Hotel Elysee. This was our first stay at the hotel, and we couldn't have been happier. Comfortable room, breakfast & happy hour included every day, helpful staff, great location in mid-town Manhattan -- I'm sure we'll be staying here again. Minor cavil; there's only one elevator, so must be prepared to wait at time for the lift

The staff was friendly and helpful, The breakfast room on the second floor had the atmosphere of a private club with library. Breakfasts catered to every taste and the cocktail hour was complete with appetizers and wine.

Thank you for your gracious attention to detail and personalized consideration. This was a stark contrast to many experiences in today's world where you are herded through as just another number. A romantic, tasteful, complete hotel experience.

The Elysee has long been my favorite hotel in New York, although it has been several years that I had not been to that city. The Elysee has the comfortable feeling of being a guest in a beautiful home. The rooms are cozy with extremely comfortable mattresses and pillows. The buffet breakfast, included in the price is delicious, and we often enjoyed the cocktail hour in the evening in the comfortable living room and library. I would choose no other hotel in New York.

As always, service is beyond excellent and the primary reason to stay here. Park your car? No problem! Need a cab? No problem! Store a birthday cake for 25 people? No problem! It is so relaxing and refreshing to stay at the Hotel Elysee. The second floor lounge is the second reason we always stay here when in NYC. A quiet space to read, reflect, or take care of business, complete with all-day coffee/tea and fruit. The included breakfast is another reason to stay here. Toast your bagel? Of course... Read more

Had a great couple of days at the Hotel Elysee earlier this month. It is located close to Broadway in midtown Manhattan, close to Central Park, close to loads of great restaurants and a little gem hidden away in the middle of the block. The breakfast and evening happy hour are a hit with my family, and this marks the 4th straight year we have visited. Yes, our room was small. But the bed was very comfortable, pillows soft and feathery, and the room neat and clean. I will stay here often!

We spent here 3 nights and we were absolutelly satisfied. Nice, big, comfortable room with king size bed. Continental breakfast - varied breads, fruits, cornflakes, juice, cofee... served in nice club room. Complimentary wine, coffee, tea and snacks from 5pm - 8pm. Many good restaurants close to hotel. Hotel staff - kind, nice and helpful. Cleaning - perfect. It is just a few minutes walking from everywhere - 5th Avenue, MOMA, Central park,... We strongly recomend.

We found this adorable hotel at a great pre-pay rate. The reviews looked terrific and the booking staff were refreshingly welcoming. I was inspired by the all-day coffee/tea and cookies, the wine and cheese, the continental breakfast, and the report of clean rooms ;). It was everything we had hoped for and more. Our room wasn't available when we arrived at noon but they checked our bags and invited us right up to the second floor lounge which is large and inviting with a distinctly European flar... Read more

Hotel Elysee was a wonderful three day experience and we will stay again. It came highly recommended by family and it was justified. Great location, pleasant and helpful staff, enjoyable breakfast and wine hour. We love boutique hotels and this fits our taste. The room was the perfect size for our needs and we also enjoyed historical Monkey Bar next door.

We love to stay at the lovely boutique hotel when we go to NYC. The rooms are a bit older and on the small side (reminds me of European hotels) but that doesn't bother me in the least because of the location, staff and amenities!

Booked up with this hotel purely on Tripadvisor ratings Upon arrival were taken up to room 97, the Hotel had kindly arranged a bottle of fizz for our anniversary We had booked a king size room. First impressions poor, carpet old and stained, I'm sure it was clean but spoilt the room. The blinds were dirty and the wallpaper was starting to peel from the walls around the joints The aircon is very noisey, in most hotels we can usually put up with this but in Elysee it wasn't possible as it kept us... Such a lovely place to stay during the US Open. Be sure to ask for an upper floor away from the street and you should find your room to be very quiet. Comfy mattress. The front desk and breakfast room personnel were wonderful and full of great tips.

Just came back home after a 5 nights stay at the Elysee with my wife. I've stayed in lots of hotels and this is the only one I can call home. Everytime we come to New York we stay at the Elysée. It is a small hotel, a gem in the big apple. Everyone at the desk is very nice, polite and super helpful. One night we came late and were tired after a whole day walking around and they even ordered for us the best "late night" burger!!! All the girls at breakfast were kind and efficient, always working... Read more

In the midst of the busy East Side of NYC is the Hotel Elysee. Once inside you are away from the hustle and bustle of the City and transported into an oasis of graciousness and calm. The rooms are beautiful, the bed so comfortable and the Staff so accommodating and friendly. Put in plentiful options for a Continental breakfast and wine and array of cheeses, olives etc offered between 5pm-8pm and you have the perfect place to stay on your visit to NYC (and minutes away from 5th Avenue shopping!).

The three stars is for the incredible staff and the good location. Robert was very friendly when we checked in and welcomed us to their continental breakfast and wine You can see it was probably once a very charming boutique hotel, however, it is in desperate need of a complete remodel.

As always, the doorman and everyone at the front desk welcomed us home; and we felt at home. As we enjoyed our wine and h'ors d'oeuvres in the lounge we socialized with old friends as we met new friends and we were thrilled to meet them again in the morning for breakfast.

I have tried to complete this three times! Have a broken arm and am growing weary. Please accept this last try!! Elysee is the best possible choice for a hotel in NYC!! DESK STAFF is wonderful and caring. I spend much of my NYC trip in my room and in your Library. Had a lovely large balcony that helped!!

Hotel Elysee offers comfort and old world charm. It's small and is conveniently located in the heart of midtown. Privately owned and attention to detail is everywhere. Dining room is lovely and cuisine is very good. Easy access to subway, walking distance to Fifth Avenue shops, and many of Manahattan's sites and attractions.

Love this hotel! It is the best!! I have stayed here three times and each time I have like being home in the city of New York. It is clean, staff is friendly, the breakfast and cocktail hours in the evening are exceptional !!!! Totally recommend this hotel! I had come as a 9/11 responder to the 15th Year Memorial Service to that day, so having the kindness of this hotel really made it easier for me.

We always seek out the Elysee Hotel while staying in NYC. It is small, personal and the service is excellent. We were upgraded this stay as it was our Anniversary. We especially enjoy having a large room for breakfast, wine/cheese in the afternoon and a place to unwind throughout the day.

First night a bit disappointing, none of our requests seem to have been noticed for bedding or make up mirror, and awakened by loud pounding at 5 am that went on for well over an hour. The Elysee moved us to a room on a higher floor away from the street plus it was an upgrade to a suite. The staff were wonderful throughout, prompt, friendly and helpful with advice getting around NYC while the President and other heads of government were visiting the UN.

We have stayed here for many years and the hotel delivers the same exceptional experience without fail. They offer a great breakfast, cookies and tea all day and wine and cheese for the cocktail hours in their second floor lounge served by a warm and welcoming staff -- which always makes us feel like we are in a home and not a hotel. Also -- The front desk staff is unfailingly cheerful and accomplished.

The staff were Wonderful in every respect. The room [154] was champion. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. And except for the fact that I love trying different places, I'd be most happy to stay there again. The location was very convenient to the city centre and the things we wanted to see or go to; although if you're into Times Square or Broadway there are closer hotels than Eleysee. Great place to stay in NYC. Used to stay at the Omni, but their rates have gone through the roof. Breakfast in the AM and a nightly wine and cheese tasting in the evenings. Only recommendation is to get a room on a high floor. We were on the 5th floor facing 54th street and it can get noisy early in the Am. Staff were very helpful.

Great small hotel with an amazing location in NYC! The rooms are a little small and I'm not a big fan of the decoration itself, but being a "small" hotel, the homely feel to it is great. Breakfast has all you need and the "afternoon tea" adds a whole charm to your stay. Recommend getting a room at the lower levels so that you don't depend on the elevator that can be a bit slow.
