Never heard of it until I had Hotwire change my reservation from 1 Central Park Hotel to this one, because that other hotel simply refused my reservation when we checked in, perhaps because I had gotten a tremendous deal out of Hotwire, and they decided not to honor it. Anyway, ended up walking 1 1/2 blocks to the Viceroy. It was so much more friendlier, trendyand the night manager, Daniel, really took care of us. Only problem we had was that they went ahead and charged me $1,600 as a mistake, f... Read more

My 13 year old daughter and I traveled to NYC for a few days before heading upstate for a college graduation. We've stayed in Times Square in the past, but wanted to be away from that energy. We booked a lovely room with a view of Central Park - Perfect! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We lunched at the Kingside Restaurant - yummy. We had a lite supper at the Rooftop Bar one evening - the view from our room was just a lovely - and not as noisy. But the greatest was room-servi... Read more

A rather boutique hotel feeling, small lobby, modern decor and friendly staff. The room is well appointed and clean but very small, very reduced closet and drawer space. Try to get a higher floor, above 20 to get a glimpse of Central Park. The Rooftop bar has a great view and cool ambience.

We stayed on the 30th May for 3 nights and I have to say I was very impressed. It has a small boutique feel to it, elegant lobby. The rooms are smaller but in fact that does not matter because they are so comfortable. The bed well I just did not want to get out of it, we had free complimentary wifi and the coffee machine was an added bonus. My only advice is try to get a room without a connecting door, this was not a huge problem but on occasion the person next to us was noisy particular when... Read more

We've stayed here several times and we've had a very good experience with each visit. Yes, it's pricey like all good NYC hotels but the location is great. Excellent location, but overall experience was just OK. Rooms were not super - just OK. No turn down or ice service. Floors are small, which is a plus. Spent lots of time waiting on the elevator. The roof top bar is fun, but be prepared to pay $25 for a drink! Plus they still charge for wifi. I prefer the Meridien next door.

We stayed on the 15th flOor an unfortunately were not high enough for a view of Central Park. We did get a great view of this from the roof top bar though. The rooms are very nice if a little bit small. However, this is to be expected when visiting big cities. We've stayed in New York previously at the Casablanca off Times Square which was at the time the best New York hotel according to trip advisor. The rooms in the Viceroy are nicer. Smarter and more modern looking, small ( to be expected in New York) but clean and very classy. The foyer too is very nice and smart. Surprised that this is a 5 star hotel as it is by far the smallest hotel room I've ever seen but the finishes were quite nice, super cute bathroom, unique storage areas and clean. Could use another elevator as there were only 2 for the entire building. Hallways were really dark which made them seem small and old.

With its prime location on W57th between 6th&7th Aves, you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. Close to Midtown, Central Park, and access to multiple subway lines, you can get most places fairly easily from here. The whole building has a sort a masculine and nautical vibe--nautical in the yacht sense. There's a lot of brown wood, exposed brass piping and other strong, masculine decorative touches. The Viceroy Rooftop bar was recommended to me by a NYC local. The patio is covered and the view (Central Park) is lovely. The drinks are pricey but top notch, using fresh ingredients and too shelf liquor (no cheap crap). The cucumber margarita and mojito were 2 of the best drinks Ive ever had! Stayed at the Viceroy in June 2016. The staff was very nice and its a great location. One of the pluses is that it within "reasonable walking distance" (for NYC would be far elsewhere) to the Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, and other Midtown favorites. Rooms are definitely "New York Sized" (small) and better prices may be found elsewhere. However, we were quite happy with our stay and will likely return. Our experience as a traveling couple was great. The doormen were very friendly and so helpful. Front desk staff always smiling and friendly. Actually everything was really perfect. We'd stay again for sure. We had a junior suite and it was a bit small for a suite, but was fine. The only negative thing I'd have to say is the lighting in the room. Another pleasant night at the Viceroy in a standard room on the 27th floor. In my previous posts i had simply forgotten to add a small details: the bed (inclunding linens) is extrememy comfortable. Really really like the Viceroy ! With convenient location and stellar service, this is a fun boutique hotel. Ruby at the front desk was ultra efficient and fabulous. We got an "upgraded" room (though in NYC not really sure what that is since it was still small - likely a higher floor ) Simply put, this boutique hotel gets it right. Visit the Rooftop for SPECTACULAR views of Central Park . Also - stop into Morton Williams 2 doors up for a super gourmet grocery store experience.

The Standard Room has about 165 feet of usable space, with a useless 165 feet of hallway, where the sink is located. Lots of thought went into making it look good and hip, but not at all utilitarian. For example, there is a nice makeup mirror, but you better be 5'9" to use it. The shower not only doesn't have a grab bar, it has nothing to hold on to or hang a towel on - not even a door latch. Let me start by saying this is not a bad place. The service was nice, and the room was very good, but there were a few issues. The only thing I did not appreciate is that in 2016 in Nyc for a so called 5 star hotel in a junior suite, you don't expect to pay almost 20 dollars a day for wi-fi connection; it's not for the money it's for the principle and the 'style' - or lack - of the house.
