Great Boutique Hotel with fun decor located in Long Island City. Loved the Lobby and the coffee - juice bar in the lobby! I had the apple, carrot & ginger juice. There are lots of wonderful antiques and art throughout the property. I spent two nights at the hotel. Price (off season) was good.

My partner and I went to NY for the NY Times Travel Show; we own a travel agency and decided to stay outside Manhattan at this hotel because it look really cool and unique from the website photos and other reviewers info. It was originally a paper factory, hence the name. There are many mixed reviews and I can understand why. These are my comments: Pros: * The hotel has pretty cool, unique decor with rustic furniture, stylish and it's own different style than most hotels. * Better price than M... Read more

Very promising hotel, but it seems like something happen when they were 90% done.. Cables having out, bathroom light fixture in mirror didn't work, silicone allover the mirror, long paint lines on the bathroom wall, glass door in shower area was wrongly fitted and is only waiting to crack. Although that we were 2 in a executive King room, we only got 1 bath towel or none. We tried to leave not on the bed, but that only resulted in 2 small towels.. When we went to the front desk, the girl starte... Read more

I had a great stay at the paper factory, one of the coolest hotels in NY. I had a large corner room with a pop up tv and electronic fireplace with walls of windows. The hotel restaurant provides a chic atmosphere and fabulous dining. I recommend this hotel to all friends and family, a real diamond in the rough. Special thanks to Altynay for getting me a great room and being courteous in making the reservation!! -Dave

Friends of mine are in the process of moving into a new place in Jackson Heights, and I came down to help recently. The first glimpses of Queens hotels were grim--bland, major-brand offerings in the shadows of my choice of either of the major airports. Then I started to look at Long Island City, which had the charms on being closer to my friends and nowhere near the airports, all the while playing host to an apparently ever-increasing number of really interesting independent hotels. Of these, I ... Read more

We stayed in the TPM on Christmas Holidays. Our stay was very pleasant and we found lot´s of space for recovering. The cooking site on 4th Floor is actually more a Lounge than a kitchen, unless we were missing some cutlery and dishes. You´ll get quick and easily to Manhattan, the Bronx, Harlem...the subway is only a hopp away. If you Need a grocery store etc. you may ask at the reception for directions, you´ll find everything you Need within a 10 minutes walk (or 5 minutes if you´re Walkin... Read more

The paper factory is a really cool, trendy hotel, located in Long Island City, 2 minutes from 36th Street Subway station. The building itself is so interesting, every nook and cranny offers some new interesting artefact or piece of art to admire or wonder at. The rooms are light and airy, the quality of furnishings superb. The staff were all friendly and helpful, handyman Adam made a point of coming over and introducing himself, having a friendly conversation and generally making us feel welcome... Read more

My colleague and I stumbled upon this cool hotel during our last work visit to NY. We had a food truck vehicle for an event we had wrapped, so we had to stay outside Manhattan, yet craving the local fares and atmosphere NYC has to offer. First off, we arrived in the evening and found parking for our truck easily. There was ample street metered parking and it seemed to be easily available after local work hours. We proceeded to check in to the lobby, which was beautifully decorated with artist... Read more

I stayed here just this past week and thoroghly enjoyed my stay. I was visiting for business and loved the vibe! It's super close to the subway and once on the subway the ride to Manhattan took about 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this if you are wanting to stay away from some of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan but still want to easily travel in to the city. Also, we ate at the restaurant (Mundo) in the hotel for dinner and it was delicious! Staff was super friendly as well.
