Lovely little hotel with friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. I loved that they put on wine and cheese tasting nights & complimentary grab and go breakfasts. I would especially like to thank Andre & Ysreal for going out of their way to help us. If we are ever back in nyc we would love to stay here again.

my first visit to nyc was perfect because i stayed at The Mave. I was there for 12 days--- clean rooms, courteous staff, wine and cheese every afternoon by the reception area and PERFECT LOCATION! Can't go wrong choosing this hotel. booking them again on my next visit that's for sure. oh, and i emailed Ysrael at front desk for the specific type of payment i will be making (2 cards to use) and he made everything a breeze. More power to the Mave! Super enjoyed my NYC experience with you guys!!

Whilst the Mave hotel is in a location to our liking, we found it quite underwhelming. Rooms were quite small, bath was tiny. Outside noise was very evident at night. Lifts were claustrophobic. Breakfast included pastries and very ordinary coffee, in the lobby. We asked for a few forks and were supplied with plastic forks which couldn't cut water. Staff were ok but not overly helpful. Have found better hotels since. Overall we would give it a 2

I booked a room May 29th for my son to stay one night on June 4th. His Grandmother, my Mother, died June 1st unexpectedly so we had to cancel the room and delay his arrival to NYC because the funeral was June 4th. Booking Buddy called the hotel to let them know he would not be able to stay and ask that they not charge the credit card under the circumstances. Mave was very unsympathetic and would not make an allowance for a refund. Mave is not a kind or caring establishment. As the saying goes, ... Read more

Room was small, location was good, amenities was ok. You have to pay for wifi. It is not free. The room I was in was small, and sometimes stuffy. You can tell this was a converted office space - hotel. But the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Came to New York for my first time due to work. Came a few days earlier to have some fun! Here are my pros and cons I have thus far experienced: Pro: Good location Cleanliness is decent Free wifi Comfy bed Updated rooms and bathroom Cons: TINY rooms Their "free breakfast" is literally a fold up table with packaged muffins, croissants and butter and apples and oranges. Probably the worst continental breakfast I've ever experienced but I'm a cheap college kid so I'll take what I can get. Wal... Read more

Simple hotel in a central location. I stayed here for one night. The room was clean but small and very simple - no fridge or microwave and no daily housekeeping. Our 5th floor room had one small window with not much of a view and there was an A/C unit on the bottom half. Breakfast and a wine and cheese offering was available but I didn't get to enjoy it so I can't judge that. The front desk people were friendly and the check in/out process was quick. The hallways were very narrow and the two ele... Read more

Check in and check out were efficient. However, the two night stay did not meet expectations. Upon arrival to our room I noticed we only had two small towels and our sink did not drain. Immediately reported this issue. Was told we couldn't get additional towels and they could not fix the sink until the following day. We had to move rooms the next morning. Since we had plans in the morning, we were told not to worry. Our bags would be moved to the new room. When we returned, we were given new doo... Read more

I'm from NYC but now live in Europe and stay at the MAve whenever I visit friends and family. The location is brilliant (subways are close, neighborhood is great, easy to walk up, down, east or west), the rooms are spacious by NYC standards and the people who work there (especially Andre and Felicia) are wonderful.

Checked in for three nights -- and was told no housekeeping was provided. Really? Yes: trash bin unemptied, no towel change, no bed making, etc. for entire stay. I had pre-paid but a "Facility Fee" of $55.50+14.75% tax was applied at check-out (that's $21+/night)! I complained at the desk but was told it would be applied. I am disputing it and hope my credit card issuer charges back the hotel.

Checked in long enough to drop my bags off. Came back much later to find busted AC and skittish TV service in the middle of a New York summer. Andre at the front desk went above and beyond in calling around and finding a way to get me into another room at 130 in the morning, taking it on himself to help me out. Amazing front-desk work!

The MAve has a great position, close to Madison Park, subway and also walking distance into Times Square. The Flat Iron building is just down the road and some great delis and restaurants. It was pretty quiet, both inside and out. There is nowhere to store luggage if you arrive early, or for the day you leave. The 'grab and go' breakfast is pretty awful. Of the 4 days we were there, there was only herbal teabags, no black tea. The breakfast were dry croissants with no filling, or cheap sweet muf... Read more

Ok, so I have stayed at several New York hotels in the past before so i had some expectations of what to expect but was shocked by this hotel. First of all, our room was the smallest we ever stayed in, and we have travelled all around the world. This is disgusting but in our bathroom bin there was used cotton buds (ear buds) from possibly the previous guests when we arrived! This hotel does not have housekeeping so our room was not cleaned over our stay. The air conditioner on the window rattl... Read more

It is inexpensive and well located, but dirty and amazingly small. AC hardly worked. Room smelled funky. Getting my car back from the valet took more than an hour. Listened to lots of people complain -- who are told to email the off-site manager. Not recommended.

Booked in on 28th July for 4 nights...our driver who also happens to be a friend of ours was told off by for parking at the front ...we asked for an upgrade as the room was so small I could not open my bag...all went well the young guy on reception was helpful and pleasant. Room was not cleaned the next day...we asked the guy at the front desk for 2 disposable cups to which we had a very rude response.... Tonight the very same person had an unpleasant argument with our driver for parking outsid... Read more

Nothing fancy, but a good hotel. Small room, free wifi, tv in the room. It's a green hotel so they don't have cleaning staff. We didn't mind as we were there for 2 days. Friendly and helpful staff. They offer wine and cheese in the lobby, but there doesn't seem to be a welcoming sitting area at the hotel. Cute cafe two doors down and the sex museum is around the corner. Close to Times Square!

The Mave Hotel is in a great location, a short walk from Madison Square Park. I stayed here because the price was competitive and was pleased with the experience. I would describe this as an upmarket, no frills experience: the service was adequate and the room was small but certainly clean and contemporary and the bed was a good size and comfortable. There's also a "grab and go" breakfast if you need to get a pastry or fruit on the run. I wonder if the window was double glazed as I thought it wa... Read more

The Mave is all you need from an NYC hotel. Fantastic location, great service. I did not find the rooms that small, but maybe those of us that are used to Paris and London aren't expecting the same as someone from Kansas or Kentucky. For the price The Mave is an absolute steal. Stay here

tiny room- late check in- early departure- and no hot water- friendly guy at desk at 5am on my way out just said "sorry about that." Wrote twice to hotel after that and heard nothing in response. The rate was low but not low enough to justify cold water only.

This is quite possibly the worst place I have ever stayed. The pictures are a 100% mis-leading. I have traveled all through Japan and still never stayed in a space that was this small and uncomfortable. For breakfast you get a piece of fruit and a tea, not really breakfast in my opinion. They have no where to store your bags so if you arrive early, guess what..... you're carting them around. The room didn't get cleaned and you had to pay for fresh towels and toilet paper. Made a reservation at the MAve hotel and needed to make changes and the staff and manager made me feel as if we were old friends. I stayed at The MAve in August of 2016. I stayed only one night while I was in town for business. The hotel is in a good enough location- pretty quiet compared to other places in the Flatiron District. The Front Desk: Staff wasn't overly friendly but this doesn't really impact my opinion of a hotel. They checked me in and that's really all I needed them to do. They do offer complimentary bottle of water at the front desk, and there is a nightly wine happy hour in the lobby. The Room: Very sm... Read more

Maybe they were having a bad week, but,,, Check-in was chaotic despite being the only people in line. No towels when we arrived. My co-worker's towels were never brought up. When she called down they said to come down to the front desk and get them herself. Iron broke. Crazy noises all night - literally screaming and people banging on doors. Street noise. VERY misleading website - (Velour bathrobe? Breakfast? HAHA!!). Random, rough-looking people hanging out in the lobby at all hours. Good lo... Read more
