I recently stayed at the Duane for a week. The hotel is lovely and the service is great. I would definitely stay again. Rooms are standard size for NY and nicely furnished and decorates. The umbrella in your room is a convenient touch as well. It rained the whole week I was there and it really came in handy.

We've had a few trips to NYC and generally stay in midtown, so this time decided to check out lower Manhattan. DSH was a great choice, a good location, easy to travel by subway or bus to all the places we wanted to see. Very convenient for all the downtown attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Tenement Museum etc. The hotel itself was lovely, very nice room, great decor, comfy bed. Staff were helpful and friendly, and there are some good places to eat within walking distan... Read more

My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the Duane Street Hotel. We LOVED it. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, just amazing. Two hours after checking in, Melissa at the front desk, spoke to us by name every time we entered and left the hotel. The amenities are great. The rooms are compact, but it is New York!!!! The location is perfect for walking to the 9/11 Memorial, the Brooklyn Bridge and many other Tribeca sights. We will go back for sure.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to events we had planned for a girls trip away. It was perfect - very polite and friendly staff at a well presented property. The room was very comfortable and everything, including the subway, was within easy walking distance. Can easily recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for a conference at NY Law School. My stay here was nice. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. I like that I had precise control over the room temperature. The hotel itself has been very quiet. Being in NYC, you regularly get sirens and horn blasts, but even as lightly as I sleep, I managed this well with earplugs. This was my first time in NYC and the staff was incredibly helpful with assisting me on all my various, touristy navigations. The location has been great. F... Read more

Duane Street Hotel is a boutique hotel that is true to New York. The average room size is just a tab bit larger than a room on a cruise ship, balcony floor...yes the rooms are that small. You literally cannot open the door fully because the bed is on the way. There is no where to put two suitcases because the closets are small, and the desk is similar to that of a child's make shift desk in an overcrowded kitchen. There is a small dining 4 tables and a small bar area, that opens at... Read more

We stayed at the Duane for a week. The room we had chosen was comfortable with two large US queen size beds. Very generous by New York standards. A great location with diners and coffee shops nearby and Soho/Tribeca in easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful sorting out a problem with air conditioning in a very proactive way. Thoroughly recommend and would go back - and it isn't often that you can say that about a New York Hotel. Very good in room Wifi too.

Warm welcome from the reception staff and an upgraded and lovely room quickly dispelled the angst occassioned by the awful traffic problems which resulted in our taxi trip from JFK to Manhattan taking 40 minutes more than usual. The free wifi in our room worked easily and first time. A quick shower in their classy shower also helped to soothe away our travel weariness and wash off the effects of New York's high temperatures (28C) and humidity. Duane Street in TriBeCa may seem a long way from the... Read more

Such a sweet, boutique hotel in the heart of Tribeca. Duane Street Hotel was modern, staff were friendly and helpful, great location near World Trade Center and subway and most importantly clean! Both bike and gym access. We will definitely stay here again.

I travel to NYC every couple of weeks and one of the best parts about my work is that I have a chance to sample and stay in lots of hotels in different parts of the city. I love Tribeca- the quiet tree lined streets, the little shops and yummy restaurants.I recently stayed at the Duane Street Hotel and it was super. the minute I walked in, I was greeted my the happy and friendly staff. Trim, neat, stylish and well managed property. Quiet. Rooms are small (welcome to NY) but have 11-12 foot ceilings, which makes for an airy and open space. Comfortable beds. Well appointed bathrooms. Lobby is especially attractive. Friendly and engaging staff. Easy walking distance to 1-2-3 (red), A-C-E (blue), and 4-5-6 (green) subway lines. Be sure to try the Odeon around the corner on West Broadway for a drink or meal. It's been around, unchanged, for 30 years, which makes it a ... Read more

Great value and clean, updated and good sized room for the NYC. Contemporary aesthetic, brown leather studded headboard and pale Scandinavian desk/shelves/wardrobe on opposite wall. We stayed here one night for the wife to take a two day course at Pace. I got to the property in the morning and was able to drop off a suitcase. I came back after three to check-in and my room was ready. I took the elevator to our floor and the room was right there. It had hardwood floors, a queen bed on the right, a bathroom with shower on the left and a desk, mini bar, HDTV, and a couple of chairs opposite the bed. Excellent lobby staff! Great location! While small, the room was well-appointed. Soft robes provided are to die for and free wifi is a big plus in NYC. Initially when booking, I thought there were soaking tubs in all rooms but learned from other reviewers this was not to be the case. Rain shower is a nice aesthetic but a traditional shower head (with a bit more water pressure) would've been better. Bed was nice but too firm for me to sleep well and pillows were too thick for me. We would not have been able to open our several suitcases in the Superior Queen Room (original reservation.) If you are traveling with more than one large suitcase, call for one of the bigger rooms. First of all the staff and management are first rate. We had a double room that was immaculate. Loved the modern sleek décor and books in the room. Toiletries were l'occatine . The hotel provides valet parking at a reasonable rate which was a godsend to us because of a recent injury. Beds were very comfortable. The only complaint is a minor one, I found the pillows to be on the hard side.

Rooms are small but the two lobby lounges help...they are a nice place to just hang out. Surrounded by small eateries so food isn't an issue. My room was a superior king and most of the room was filled up by the bed but it wasn't too crowded. I had a view of Church and Duane which was nice because they were filming something on the street the night that I checked in. The location is perfect: about a 10 minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, 5 minutes to City Hall, and 5 minutes to the new World Trade Center. Typical NY accommodation with small room sizes but well insulated from street noise. Lovely staff from front desk to maintenance. Comfy mattresses but had to search for a pillow that wasn't lumpy. So close to everything a tourist would want including great restaurants. Would love to see finish in the bathrooms improved (paint work, everything mounted to the walls was wonky!). Would stay again.

We loved that they had a espresso bar and made delicious lattes. We would definetly come back during our next east coast adventure. High five to the managment you have awesome staff.

The staff at the hotel coffee bar in the LOBBY which you can visit and then peek at the hotel is superior, especially Melissa, who made me the best cappuchinos I have ever had. The price is great and they also have FREE newspapers.I can't tell you how much I'd like to stay at the hotel, which is small and seemed super friendly. We have stayed at this hotel in the past given it's excellent location to our family who live in TriBeCa. it is fantastic, clean and eclectic in decor. We love it! As a result, I booked it right away for a family wedding thinking that I could cancel closer to the date if I could find a rental unit to house my large crew. We thought the staff is trying very hard and mostly succeeds, but the staff are not really equipped to deal with anything out of the ordinary (problems, requests). I think we had some isolated issues and so I won't go into details - if you don't have any actual problems in your room, or elaborate requests, or high expectations for service level, the hotel will be fine. Hey if you can get over all the strollers and scooters in this part of NYC, it's a cool area. It's a small hotel, and everyone makes you feel immediately welcome, we really appreciated their hospitality. I stayed here on a trip to visit friends. It was a very convenient location in TriBeCa, near SoHo. Service was very professional as well. I would highly recommend this place to future visitors and wouldn't hesitate to go there again.
