I chose La Quinnta Inn & Suites Manhattan because it got good reviews, was in a good location and the price was right compared to other more expensive hotels in Manhattan (and there is a lot of them). La Quinnta didn't disappoint. The room was comfortable and clean and included in the room rate is a continental breakfast which was a bonus as most Manhattan hotels don't include breakfast.

Beds really comfy - good pillows and duvet. Rooms small but it's New York so I wouldn't expect anything else! Excellent location. Close to lots of great eateries including delicious Korean food just a couple of doors sdown from the hotel. Subway at end of the road. Easy walking access to all tourist attractions. We booked 2 queen bed. The room was huge for NY standard. Old but cleaned and bed was comfy. Breakfast nothing special. Lots of people and it was crowded. But the main problem was the elevator. It takes ages to come. It is faster for us to go down from 4th fl than wait for the lifts. They really need to be upgraded.

We were pleasantly surprised as to how good this hotel is for the price in mid-town Manhattan. The room was spacious by NYC standards. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The wifi is super fast. The staff was very accommodating. We stayed four nights and had an all around great experience staying in this hotel. Highly recommended!!

Very pleased we booked this hotel. It was very close to the subway and had lots going on in the surrounding streets. Friendly staff, room very clean and a good size with very comfortable beds. A lovely power shower and you also get a safe in the room which is free to use. I would recommend that you take ear plugs as the noise from the street can be loud all light long. Mainly honking cars and sirens which seems to happen everywhere you go in the city. Breakfast was as expected. Basic but all y... Read more

Comfortable bed and pillows, good shower with massage shower head. Appreciated the good reading lights at bedside and at the desk. First let me explain my 5 star rating - this is NOT a luxury hotel, but the 5 stars is based on the hotel being exactly what was expected. The room was furnished very consistently with the several other La Quinta hotels where we have stayed - not high end, but very well maintained furnishings, decent linens, very comfortable beds, very clean, and nice lobby. As many others have stated, this hotel is in a very good location with very convenient access to the subway system. We arrived before off... Read more

This hotel is just like any other however, the front desk staff should be very proud of them selves in that they are THE ABSOLUTE SWEETEST AND NICEST EVER! No matter the hour they were true gems! The rooms are average because as usual the tips are never cleaned. Nonslip tub.....I slipped the minute one foot touched the surface! Literally, no exageration. Was like slipping on ice. After staying here for three nights, my wife and I agreed that this is the best value in Manhattan. Can't add much to other reviews except to emphasize the updated decor (which combines nicely with the classic pre-war building exterior), warm tones in the rooms, very accommodating staff, great central location and fun roof bar. Rooms and bathrooms are not large but certainly good sized by Manhattan standards for moderately priced hotels. The roof bar has more of a beach bar feel than a sophis... Read more

Updated older building; mostly contemporary; very clean. Comfortable room on 12th floor which eliminated street noise as well as bar noise from 14th floor. Nice breakfast choices, including hard boiled eggs for protein. Crowded breakfast room and not all guests have good manners. Close to Harold Square subway. Staff all cordial; helpful. Was able to checkout and leave luggage for 8 hours before late flight---a bonus. Able to print out boarding passes from computer in lounge.

I cannot be more grateful to the guy called Mark! He knows how to take care of issues, unlike others. I complained about the noise outside my room and he immediately sent me to another room. We stayed here for 8 nights. It was really close to all the major attractions. We had a room on the street side, and there was a lot of noise, but we enjoyed being so close to the city. The only negative I have is that the breakfast left much more to be desired. There are not a lot of protein options, and for 7 mornings, it felt like there was no variety. Other than that, staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel in the last two years. The location was great for us. Hop on Hop Off bus tours are at the end of the street on 5th Ave. You are one block from Herald Square and walking distance to Grand Central and Penn Station. The beds are comfortable as well as the pillows for a good nights sleep. The rooms small, typical for a big city, but clean and nicely decorated. The view from the roof top bar of the Empire State Building was great. We would def... Read more

We were in New York to see Adele and wanted a place close to Madison Square Garden. We were less than a mile from MSG. This property is also close to The Empire State Building and The New York Public Library. Also close to a subway station. The rooms were clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was quiet. The free breakfast was standard continental breakfast fare but the staff did a great job of keeping everything stocked. We are family of four and stayed in one if the two queen bed room on 8th floor. Thanks for the reviews on trip advisor, I asked for the biggest room for two queen bed which only available at 3pm (we arrived at 11am). Positive things 1. Room was spacious with two queen beds (not full or double size). We even had sofa in our bedroom. 2. Room facing the back and empire state building so it was amazingly quiet during our trip in nyc. 3. The breakfast is OK. The bagel was delicious. The boiled eg... Read more

We are staying at the quinta and the hotel is great. We called in advanced and made arrangements with the concierge for shuttle services from the airport to the hotel. That never happened and even though we sent our credit card information by email (per their demand) . What a scam. We emailed multiple times and they didn't even apologize. Now I have to cancel my credit card during my vacation. Don't use the concierge and do not disclose your information to those clowns.

We stayed here for 7 nights and got quite a good price considering the initial impression of the building and location. It's 5 mins walk from Penn Station so great for rail links from the airport (much quicker and cheaper than the $60 flat rate for a taxi) and is positioned between 5th Av and Broadway so excellent for shopping, Times Sq, Empire State, etc. Due to the loaction/price, this is a very busy hotel so be ready for queues at check in/out, breakfast, lifts. The main problem with the lift... Read more

We stayed here 5 nights at the end of May. Yes, they have ADA rooms. But first, if I did not need an ADA room this would be a very good hotel. The room was $350 per night with an extra $40 per night for a refrigerator and another $40 per night for a microwave. It was indeed newly renovated and was very nice in appearance. Our large ADA room had 1 king bed and plenty of room to park my electric scooter. Very clean and a large bathroom with a walk in shower and very good bar arrangement around the... Read more

Lovely exterior of this old building belies the interior reality. Very small room (not unusual for NYC) was clean and well maintained, good bed. But room faced interior opening that was the exhaust pipe for a Korean BBQ restaurant. As a result, our air conditioner pumped in BBQ fumes every night. (Windows can't be opened.) Doors slammed so hard that we were awakened every time somebody on the floor came or went. Breakfast room was crowded with dirty tables, and the plastic silverware was s... Read more

We really enjoyed this hotel. From start to finish the staff were great. When we booked we had requested a high room but upon arrival told a higher room wouldn't be available until our second night and the hotel offered to transfer all of our luggage on the second night. However our room on the 2nd floor was actually fine so we decided to stay put. The room was small but very clean and more than adequate for our stay. We were on our way to Canada via train. This hotel is about 4 blocks east of Penn Station. Very convenient. Nice clean and fresh lay out. Clean and nice bathroom. I will note that if you want a bath you had better be short as they had the smallest bath tubs I have ever seen in a hotel. Not an issue for me but actually were quite funny. For a New York City hotel, the rooms were the usual small but quite comfortable. Easy to walk with roll aboard luggage from Penn to the hotel and back. ... Read more

The La Quinta Inn and Suites Manhattan is in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the city. We were mid way between 5th Ave on one end and the subway on the other. The stay included a continental breakfast each morning. The room we had was pretty small and was on the 14th floor just around the corner from their roof top bar. Perfect location if you planning to travel in Manhattan. There is a nice breakfast with pancake and donates. The place offers reasonable space at the price for NYC and the location within 200m of the Empire State Building is hard to beat. An easy walk from Penn Station. What really impressed us was an event that shows the character of the staff. We forgot some gifts in our room when we checked out. We called the next day and housekeeping reported they were holding them. I went back into NYC this morning and spoke to the front desk. I chose this hotel for this trip because I wanted to be in mid-town, close to almost everything, or at least in the middle of everything. The first thing that stands out is its close proximity to Penn Station making getting in from / out to either JFK or Newark so easy and stress free - it's also less than 1.5 blocks from Penn station and half a block from the 33rd street station metro entrance. Another great thing is if you arrive early, they will store your luggage in a secure room for free. ... Read more

Have stayed here a few times for work, mostly as it is convenient to my NYC office, and they still offer smoking rooms (please keep them!!!) Nice entryway, close to Penn Station, clean. Rooms are tiny, even by NYC standards. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean. Rates are good for Manhattan. Hotel sells out often, so book early, or sometimes availability opens at last minute, so keep checking their website. We stayed here for a few nights based on others reviews, location and price... It has a nice modern foyer but I am unsure if the doors to street access are ever locked due to the rooftop bar, which did make me wonder about security (as no key was required to access stairs or lifts). We enjoyed the location, right in the heart of Manhattan The Empire State Building was just around the block. Rooms are rather small , but nice and clean. Street noise made it up to the 9th floor. Coming off a cruise,we checked in for two nights - good value! Centrally located, this revamped old hotel (built in 1902) has been taken on as a La Quinta property. As La Quinta frequenters when we travel by car, we were pleased to find the same level of service and quality but in a unique hotel. Very helpful staff - honest too as we forgot to lock the safe (actually left it open wide, much to our chagrin!) when leaving and the housekeeping staff didn't touch a thing. Enjoyed our stay!
