We stayed here for 6 nights. Apart from NYC being very cold, we found this property excellent. Very good location. We were on the 2nd floor and found it quiet. Taking our bags upstairs was not a problem. Many many great restaurants in the area. Just a few blocks away from a couple of different subway lines. Our room was small-ish but very adequate and even had a small kitchenette. Excellent value for money as we booked a few months in advance.

Great central location in the East Village, 5 minute walk to the subway. Great neighborhood with lots of coffeeshops, restaurants, shops & bars. Modern apartments, with fully functional kitchen and en-suite bathroom, tv, wifi and comfortable double bed. I got the feeling of living in NYC while staying here. The room is cleaned every day, even the dishes were done :) There's some outside noise from traffic, but it didn't bother me at all, I mean: it's NYC after all

I really didn't want to write a negative review but feel the hotel aren't very clear about what they are. Prior to check in you receive a code for the main door and your room which is valid until your check out date and unfortunately the security upon check in was pretty poor as no ID was checked. The hotel is left unmanned from the evening until 11am the next morning too so no-one is available should you forget your code/ have trouble with the door. The room itself was filthy, the floor hadn'... Read more

Located in the vibrant East Village, we found this aparthotel to be ideal for a week long stay in NYC. The area is full of coffee shops, bars and eateries. The nearest subway station is just 10 minutes walk away so very easy to get out and about. The staff, though not there 24hours a day, were very friendly and helpful. You have codes to get in to the hotel when the front desk is unmanned and this worked fine for us. The room itself was bright and airy with high ceilings. We asked for a room on ... Read more

Everybody said it was noisy. I didn' t have any anormal noise during my stay. It's a nice place to stay with a coffee in the corner where you can eat good muffins and smoothies. The service is not very personal but it's efficient and the entry codes in the street and room doors are also a good solution. I will come back in my next visits to NY

Great little apartment in heart of East Village. Couldn't ask for better location; fascinating range of restaurants, communities, people and service. A few niggles (room is small so no wardrobe - just a rail with 6 of the worst designed hangers you could imagine so take your own; there is a mini ironing board but as we had to live out of suitcase for 10 days as no wardrobe had to use this loads, which is a pain - and there would be room for a full size ironing board; also, no room safe, as other... This was perfect for us! Comfortable, clean, looks exactly like the photos (which is nearly never the case). Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, as was the daily maid(s). The fact that the front desk aren't always there wasn't a problem. When you check in they let you know of what hours the desk will be manned and inform you of the desk telephone that connects to someone 24/7 so if you need anything, someone will always be able to help. I didn't find it overly noisy, just genera... Read more

A lot of reviews talk about the noise from the street, but we didn't find that a problem at all. We were in Room 1, so close to the junction of 1st Ave and E 9th St, but never really noticed the noise. There is an air-con unit in the room, a the foot of the bed, which was most welcome during the unseasonably hot weather that came with the stay. The air-con is noisy, but try sleeping without it on and you'll soon get used to it! The room wasn't huge and it was a bit of a squeeze trying to get in... Read more

We booked the East Village Hotel for a week in September to explore NYC. Before leaving for the USA we had read some mixed reviews, and were a little concerned about what we would find. On our arrival we realised there was NOTHING to worry about, and the EVH was going to be the perfect place to stay for our trip. We were in Room 18 on the top floor. Yes, there are 4 floors to climb and no lift, but this was only a little hard work when were taking the cases up to our room. The room was bright, ... Read more

Location - Great Room - Enough. Small, but has everything you need. Clean. The Bean - Cool place. Can definitely see how some people find it noisy. Ear plugs in the room for a reason. If you like quiet don't stay in the 2nd floor. Bed - Worst part of my stay. Could literally feel the springs with every move. All of them.

Good points: location, kitchen, house keeping. Bad points: no where to sit and eat, which completely made the option of self catering a nonsense. There is a breakfast bar of sorts but the chairs provided were for a dining height table and were really filthy. The lady at check in was uninterested and almost rude. We were on the 2nd Floor and we're not at all disturbed by noise from the cafe below. However, the fridge in our room was extremely loud and did disturb our sleep! Overall, accommodat... Read more

Just spent part of my weekend here and absolutely loved this hotel. I wasn't familiar with it at all but tried it anyway. The location is beyond amazing, smack in the middle of lively East Village. Facility itself was super clean, modern, comfortable, pretty room. Eager to stay again!
