Room was clean and beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful, location fantastic, great rate. Only complaints--the malbec at bar was meh, as was the service, and the breakfast area and lower level conference rooms had no cellular service whatsoever.

My family of 5 stayed here last week and we would definitely stay here again! The hotel is only 1 block from a subway station. We had not been to the city in many years and were nervous about utilizing the subway. We talked to Francis at the front desk and not only did he put our fears to rest, but he insisted on going to the subway station with us! He gave us a subway map, told us what train to use, and showed us how to get our metro tickets! He was so helpful and we had no problems with t... Read more

We spent only 12 hours in the hotel, but it was fine. Quiet, helpful staff, cold drinks when you enter lobby, layout of room fine..spacious. We stated here because we were dead tired from overseas travel and needed a location with reasonable price near La Guardia airport as our domestic flight left early the next morning. The location gives you easy access to Manhatten although it's aliterate walk ( not a physically enjoyable one as its next to the overhead train)

A good location in LIC and near transportation to the city. New property in an up and coming area of LIC. Once again rooms are NYC size, in fact ours was very small.... Check the room chart and try to get one of the larger rooms. Breakfast great and included for Honors folks.

Great location, friendly and helpful hotel staff, easy access to public transportation to Manhattan, Brooklyn and other areas of Queens. Several blocks from the 59th Street Bridge to Manhattan. Bought a one-week Metro pass for buses and subways. The best & cheapest way to see and get a feel for the city. Also the best show in town. Just be aware Lots of new hotel and condo construction around area of hotel.

This is a review for a one week stay in New York. Finding the hotel was easy as it is right near the subway station. Don't worry about how close it is to the subway as the rooms are soundproofed excellently. I didn't experience any issue with outside news at any time during the trip. When it comes to booking a hotel for a New York trip everyone has differing opinions on what they require. However I can almost promise you that good customer service will always feature. When I arrived at the hotel, checking in was easy and fast. Employees at the check-in counter were courteous and professional. The lobby was clean and nicely designed. There was water (mixed with lime, lemon, and some other fruits) available for everyone to drink with coffee provided instead in the morning. For the actual room itself(King sized bed), it's moderately sized for a NY room. You have your usual assortments of drawers, cabinets, a microwave, and a TV. WiFi is free for guests. There's... A bit tricky to find through all the one way streets, but once we arrived, we used the valet parking. We travelled the city by subway. Stayed here for a few days for work. Pros: very close to subway, very clean, decent sized rooms for NYC, friendly staff, and the cookies, water, and coffee in the lobby. Cons: fruit flies in lobby and restaurant (they are really annoying), not near anything, and two elevators cause long wait times from time to time. All in all, if you get a good rate and want to be a short ride from Manhattan, this is a solid option. I'd stay here again if everything else was too expensive.

The hotel is good, located close to Manhattan( only two station ). Close to Metro. The surrounding area is not so great, with constructions and dirt but you can easily ignore it. I was in New York over the 4th of July weekend as a tourist. I chose the LIC HGI because of the combination of location and price. It is an excellent hotel, close to three subway stops that make access to virtually anywhere in NYC easy. The staff was great. The breakfast service was a cut above. The location made it necessary to be creative to make use of tight spaces in rooms, and this was done with a lot of thoughtfulness. Around the corner from the Subway which was the best route to the US Open. The checkin was a breeze and they allowed an early checkin since we were in another Hilton in Manhattan the days before. The ladies recommended GrubHub and food was delivered quickly. We will definitely stay again.
