I was very pleased to stay at the Holiday Inn in Jamaica during my first solo trip. It offered a convenient shuttle to and from the airport which was very helpful. Specifically, Richard at the front desk was always very helpful in suggesting various things to do or see as well as the fastest subway route to take to my desired destination. He was always very professional, well-mannered and friendly. I arrived very early in the morning, and he was able to check me in before the regular check-in t... Read more

From a value standpoint for the area, I have no complaints as we only paid $149 for the night through Groupon. Breakfast is included in that rate. However, no one told us that we would not be recognized as a Spire member, would not receive points or credit for the stay which is a big deal, and that we do not get our usual upgrade. That aside, i am torn on this hotel as the room was very nice, clearly was remodeled in the last year or so as everything was new, bathroom was excellent, room wa... Read more

The hotel staff were very friendly. We arrived pre checkin time and spent some time at the bar. Beer was icy cold - perfect. Snacks were large portions but average. Mainly processed food. The room was very good. Clean. Spacious. The bed was very comfortable, good pillows and most importantly quiet (when the window was shut). The common areas are not an indication of the quality of the room we had. Local drinking hole is the Bayhouse - a 5 minute walk down the road. This was well worth the visi... Read more

I was happy to see that on a return visit to this hotel, everything was still as nice as the first time. The room was small-ish but had enough room for an airport hotel. The bed was huge & comfortable, nice bed & bathroom linens. Plenty of outlets and fast wifi. Great TV channel selection. Once again I had a lovely view of the NYC skyline at night. This hotel isn't right next to JFK but the shuttle will take you there. My only real quibble is for a hotel servicing a huge busy airport like JFK, ... Read more

I have to thank American Airlines for this experience. Instead of Cancun I got Jamaica - the other one. And magnificent it is. Even the taxi drivers can't find it first time. When you get here it is comfortable and clean. What more could you want, other than Cancun. Hotel is new and airport noise not an issue.

Hotel is in a strange remote area, but convenient for flying out of JFK. Staff is polite and efficient and rooms are quite modern. You do not hear the planes. Surprisingly there is NO safe in the room.

About 10-15 minutes from the ariport by shuttle from Federal Circile (Airtrain). Large rooms, comfortable beds, coffee machine, amenities, free wifi. Sound isolation is not good, you hear the planes and even the cars passing by at the nearby avenue. A short walk from a small mall (KMart, Marshalls, Loewe,..). There is a restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast is just soso. They offer "freshly squeezed" orange juice at over 3 box a glass, but you just get a tetrapack juice. The vega omelette offered a... Read more

Only stayed at the hotel overnight, had a early flight next day, but the room was very small. Overall my stay was ok. Just needed the be at a hotel in close proximity to the hotel. There was also a restaurant in the hotel, and the food was pretty decent.

I know it's very well known hotel, but this one is a modern one. It is equipped almost by every thing you need. The room about 300 SF. Very very clean. The only thing that you might don't like is no cooler at the room. There is a bussiness square two blocks away. So if you got a flight via JFK, it is going to be a cheapest and the best hotel to stay. Enjoy

We were in town for a wedding nearby and this was the closest motel to the wedding place. I caught a Group On deal for $135 for a one night stay and was advised against staying here because of the neighborhood. While it is true there were several unsavory characters hanging out back, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Mostly travelers stay here.

Stayed one night and that's ok. There is no much to do in the hotel and location is near a major road. I couldn't get points to my IGH rewards card due to booking with a third party. Go figure! I spend over a couple hundred due to the circumstances and cannot get points. There is a restaurant on site and service was below average...a bit too slow in delivering food or checking if I needed anything. Request room away from the main road.

It is on a side street. Check in easy, nice staff. Will try and help. We did the 7 nights parking also. Small parking area next door. Dropped car and walked back. The parking area is small and you leave your key. The room was clean and a bit small but all we did was sleep. We got up and went at 450 for the 5 am shuttle. Well so did many others. We did all fit in and were at the gate shortly after. Shuttle was fine. We did beat the mass crowd and got thru TSA before the rush. On return the hotel... Read more

A roof over your head. Clean, comfortable, and reasonable. The rooms are small. To sit at the counter to work on the computer, the desk had to be pulled and turned to fit between the bed and the chair. Expect noise. Not sure who the clientele is, but the rooms are noisy. If sleeping during the day, expect to listen to the cleaning staff. Breakfast is not included. Cannot say I recommend the hotel for families. Not the best, but fine for a night in transit. The staff is nice, but the hotel itself is only ok and the shuttle can take a long time both to arrive and it's pretty far from JFK. There is a restaurant on site if you arrive late - there aren't any other food options nearby at all.

We stayed one night before our morning departure from JFK New York. The hotel was comfortable , spacious and clean. We ordered food from nearby which was prompt and excellent. The hotel breakfast was very comprehensive and quick as we had a flight to catch. We would certainly book again as it took the stress out of getting to the airport on time.

When I pulled into the parking lot and checked into the hotel, I for sure predetermined that this was not going to be a good experience. The building was old looking and dingy, and the lobby was tiny. The check in was very fast and the staff was courteous and interested in helping in anyway they could. When I stepped off the elevator I noticed that a manager and what I assume was the head of housekeeping doing random inspections of rooms. This was very interesting to me, because there was a cl... Good: 1. Proximity to JFK. It takes all of 10 minutes to reach the hotel. 2. They have free shuttle service (every 30 minutes from 6 AM to 11 PM and every hour between 12 AM and 5 AM) which comes in handy especially when you're travelling in a group. 3. Rooms are decent. I took a 2 (queen) bed room for my family of 3 adults and 1 child and it didn't cost me much. 4. Cleanliness. No mess around or in the rooms. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't have free breakfast but considering ... Read more

This place was immaculate. Dominique at 1030 pm was fantastic upon checking us in after a group of thirty. Rooms are small, but functional for an airport overnight to beat next day traffic to JFK. Restaurant rates were reasonable. Front desk very nice as was poorly tipped shuttle driver to terminal

The staff was great. Very friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent for an overnight before a flight out of JFK. Hotel was very clean. Location of our room was a bit noisy and the hotel is right next to the highway so that noise came through as well.

Location is adequate. Free wi-fi. No complimentary breakfast, though they do have a restaurant. The room looked good. Overall, it is an OK hotel if you are traveling in or out of JFK but a bit to noisy for me. Our room was next to the ice machine and I could barely sleep. It was too full to change rooms. There was also noise coming from the street. This may be perfect for someone who is not bothered by noise though. It didn't have a pool.

The room was small but functional. My shower curtain had a horrible odor and I had to remove it and put it outside my door as it permeated the whole room. My wife and I booked this place because we were coming in on a redeye and knew we'd want to nap after a terribly delayed flight from SFO. The price was good ($165 night) and the location was great, as it's only about 3 miles from JFK...but that's pretty much where the "good news" ends. We were in room 617 which was sandwiched between the ice machine (stunned how many people were using this thing, and it's unbelievably loud...imagine someone throwing a pile of rocks into a tin bucket every so oft... We were only in this hotel for seven's close to a main highway and the rooms at the front of the hotel are quite noisy.....saying that we had a late flight in and early flight out so we were very tired and didn't notice the noise that much. The service at reception wasn't great. Hotel was clean and shuttle service to and from the airport was good. I would stay here again as it was a good price for an airport hotel. Not for more than one night though.

Flying in to JFK late at night and then back out of JFK the following morning it made sense to stay close by. The hotel was easy to get to with a hotel shuttle from Federal Circle. We arrived and check in was quick and easy. The room was comfortable and clean, great bed. I wasn??t expecting too much after reading the reviews online but was very pleasantly surprised. Easy drop off at the appropriate terminal the following morning.

Arrived in NYC at 9pm and called the hotel without a reservation, they immediately sent a shuttle to pick us up and the room was affordable for the night. We were provided with a Chinese take-out menu. The shuttle runs 24 hours a day to JFK and runs every half hour on the hour. Check-in and our was seamless. The hotel was safe and clean for the overnight. Recommended.

Price could be a lot more low imho, but it's NY.... 100% what you can expect from a Holiday Inn Hotel : nice clean room and bathroom. Free wifi and free parking. Near JFK. 24/7 reception. No breakfast included. Is in a industrial zone with a lot of noise (cars+planes), not a good place, but it's usually just for 1 night after or before a flight, then it's ok :)

This Holiday Inn is isolated in an area with nothing surrounding other than the airport boundaries and desolation. However, if you're just using the hotel to sleep, it's a good choice. The rooms are new, pleasant, and clean. The staff is helpful. The shuttle bus driver was rude and the front desk staff apologized profusely - good enough for me!
