The facility is reasonably new and is maintained in good, clean condition. The breakfast offered in the lobby has wide variety and good quality. The one negative during the visit was a very busy expressway that is located in close proximity to the back of the hotel. There was traffic noise late into the night and early the next morning. The hotel is very convenient if you are visiting the University or someplace else in that vicinity.

The Hilton Garden Inn was great. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, professional and efficient (check-in took less than three minutes!). The room was fantastic: very clean, nicely furnished, with plenty of clean, fresh towels, and the amenities like the in-room Keurig, microwave, and refrigerator made the room even more guest-friendly. Although I didn't take advantage of the pool or Jacuzzi, it was nice to know they were there if I wanted to. I booked this room through TripAdvisor... Read more

The staff/front desk was friendly. The rooms & hotel are clean. Housekeeping kept our room spic and span everyday! The gym is decent for a hotel. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was actually very good. The down side is that the beds (we had 2 queens) are horrible! They are something like a sleep number bed, but the settings are 1-rock hard or 2-rock hard/saggy at the same time! How is that possible? The a/c was pretty loud also.

After a long and particularly grueling business week, it was nice to know that after my days of working and training were done, I had a nice oasis of calm and luxury to return to. Everything about my stay in the hotel was pleasant, from the great breakfast selection to start my morning with, to the extremely comfortable bed to end my evening on. The gym was great to unwind with, as was the pool/spa. I also liked the business center and also the laundry room, both of which I had occasion to use... Read more

I was on my way to Boston and had just stopped at Cornell. I think that this hotel was convenient for my family. This hotel does have a great location. The hotel is right down the street from SUNY Albany and only a few miles from downtown. When we got to the hotel, there were several rowdy guests who were acting kind of inappropriately for a hotel. I didn't see the staff do much to quell these noisy guests. Fortunately, the rowdy guests didn't affect my sleep. Other than that, the room was fine,... Read more

The hotel is exactly what you expect from a Hilton Garden Inn...comfortable and efficient staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the food at the bar on a slow Sunday night, when things in many hotels, are frequently sloppy and not up to snuff. I ordered a rare burger, which a lot of places will not do. The quality of the beef and the perfection of the cooking are to be commended. The staff was great!

We had the pleasure of staying at this Hilton Garden Inn after having stayed at the one by Albany Medical Center. I have to say that this one is far, far superior to that one. Please note that these hotels are 4 miles apart. This hotel was over $100 a night cheaper that the AMC one and in much better condition. The hotel on arrival was neat and well maintained. Nothing is special about this hotel. It is what you expect from a corporate brand. I'm a diamond member with Hilton and I stay in a lot of hotels for business travel. My stay this trip did not stand out and the front desk clerk was not friendly during check in or any other part of the stay. I think he was new because I've never seen him before and I stay here 1-2 times per month.

I travel for business a lot and stay at many HGI's as it's historically been a consistently great experience. This one does not live up to the brand's otherwise great reputation. Pantry was scantily stocked, my door wouldn't open (requiring employee to come change batteries on lock), breakfast was a joke - backlogged with 12-15 orders and consistently getting them wrong (people were complaining left and right) and the coffee carafes (all of them) were empty. Unfortunately my only dessspointed was that on the site u could clearly see a patio area but was close on a Friday and a beautiful hot sunny Saturday, I was disappointed since it was a feature that I was looking for . We recently spent a night on our way to Canada. Checkin through the Hilton Honors Program was a snap. The front desk was very helpful in providing pizza suggestions for delivery. Comfortable, clean, odor-free room. Extremely friendly, cheerful, efficient, and helpful staff. One spent time telling us all the possible dinner places in the area, including detailed directions and price range. Another got us towels herself for the pool. Nice touches like mints at the front desk. The pool and whirlpool were wonderful. Convinient Y located at the center of everything to say the least, starbucks at the ground floor, mpanera bread next block.....overall great stay, great check in fr... Read more

Flew into Albany very early....visiting nephew to see him play at U ALBANY football game. Hotel located across the street from the University so very convenient. We arrived early as the game was an early event and upon check in we found our room was ready which was great. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff Sammy and Alex. They are super nice, very friendly/personable and efficient. Our accommodations were very nice and clean. When we returned from the game chilly and damp as it was ... Read more

I would not recommend this Hilton to any family or friends. If I have to attend a seminar at this location I will make it a point to stay at another motel and drive back and forth each day. So it seems that I must use 200 words before the page is posted, so I will simply continue and say that for the cost it was not a good deal and the bed itself was horrible. I spent 2 nights for a seminar and had the worst sleep that I can recall. Not only the mattress the pillows were poor quality. I am ... Read more

Und i... Read more

The pool was trashed by other guests and in stead of cleaning it the manager on duty closes the pool, also the lobby bathroom was disgusting and unine was all over the floor. I have always loved this location but the manager needs to find the correct staff to run it properly when he is not on location. I have been through many management teams at this location and the new manager has the leadership I feel but needs to stop hiring folks that are not hands on!

Our hotel checkin/checkout experience was great, and the room was wonderful. However, service in the restaurant was very poor. My husband got his dinner when I was done mine (I ordered pasta and he ordered the steak sandwich). Very poor service !

My wife and I stayed in Albany last minute on a Friday night. We were looking for a hotel under $100. It turns out the reviews were terrible for other hotels. We ended up spending just a bit more and LOVED our stay. The breakfast is not included so thats an extra $10/pp but it was clean, comfortable and the staff were great. Stay at Red Roof in if you want cheap, stay at Hilton Garden Inn if you want value. Great value for my money.

We had no reservation and so we just walked in and were offered a 2Q room at a reasonable rack rate. The room was spacious, well equipped and quiet despite the heavy traffic on the nearby highway. The dinner was ok but not really worth a repeat. The breakfast buffet was alright - eggs any style, omelette, pancakes and French toast were freshly prepared. In the evening you could sip your drink comfortably at the fireplace in the lobby.  Yet, you should be aware that the hotel is not located dow... Read more

Hilton Garden Inn Albany / SUNY Area is one hotel I have not been to in the capital district and I have been to a few. Whatâ??s also interesting is the State has never had us stay in that part of the Albany SUNY area that I can remember but we had two meetings for the 3rd and 4th of November booked at the University across the street . A couple months ago I was told by the state we had a mandatory training in Albany NY. When they told us the hotel they reserved a block or rooms for under the ... Read more

This hotel is close to several Albany area colleges, universities and attractions. It is minutes from 3 campuses, 2 malls and several dining destinations. The staff at the HGI was professional and courteous.

The accomodations were comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was very good and the place was nice. I like the convenience of the parking garage and the fact that it was free. I would stay here again.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The food quality was very good but I almost had to leave before I could eat. I had to wait 30 minutes for my breakfast in the downstairs eating area - not room service. I saw other people leaving because they did not have the time.

I stayed here in order to be within walking distance of the SUNY Albany campus. It was convenient. The room was nice. All of my interactions with the staff were pleasant. I had dinner one night--the fish taco was crisp and tasty, the black beans were good, but the rice was too sweet and gloppy.

Great Hotel Covenient and the staff was friendly, courteous and motivated to make sure you were happy. Unusual and unexpected for very welcome! Breakfast was a welcome relief from the overprocessed, microwaved breakfasts at other hotels. Room was comfortable and super quiet. All in all a great experience.
