We stayed here just this past weekend to attend an even at the Times Union Center. Though this place was clean and nice, the air in our room did not work very well. We called down to have it looked at and after an hour and half the engineer came who was very nice , but informed us that since our room was facing the sun it would take a while for it to cool off. he changed the filter and told us to get a fan. My husband called to see if we could get a fan and he was informed there were no fans an... Read more

I stayed at the Hilton Albany for a annual conference. It was a nice stay, nothing overly exciting. I felt as though the rooms were average, again nothing spectacular. I was surprised that there was a $50 deposit fee PER NIGHT. It's not that I couldn't swing it, I was just surprised at the nightly deposit fee. My room in particular could use a little maintenance, there were a couple dings in the baseboard that could easily be patched up. However, the conference space was great and easily a... Read more

Hotel is located in the heart of Albany in the midst of beautiful architecture. Everthing is in walking distance. The restaurant iexperience was unpleasant both for dessert and for breakfast. Wait time was unacceptable for our food. However, Romel from the lobby Starbucks went out of his way to make it a pleasant experience. Our room was on the third floor (302), overlooking a roof for the lower levels. There was a big set of fans on that roof that were rather loud at night. Also, my room had a door connecting it to the room next door, and we could hear every conversation our neighbors were having. So if you are sensitive to noise, this room was not a good choice. Other than that, the room was very pleasant and clean. If you can, avoid breakfast at the hotel - it's about $20 per person for a buffet of eggs, bacon, s... Read more

Rooms were nice good size. The night we stayed the ac blowers did not work. Which made sleeping tough. The maid started knocking on the door at 8 am to make our room. A little early for that. My experience was the worst hotel experience I have had whether it be business or pleasure travel. I was given a handicap room that looked as if the bed had someone that was just laying on it upon entering the room, hair on pillows, bed spread rumpled etc. The refrigerator had left over pizza in it and the bathroom looked like it was not fully cleaned. Not one to complain, I did not bring this to the attention of the front desk. Day two we left the room at 9:00am and returned to the room at ... Read more

we arrived for a wedding on 6/3 and check-in went smooth and we received our gift bags. The problem came up when we found out some guest received bfast vouchers and we did not. The reason given to us was because we booked the room using our Hilton rewards and not via the wedding block. In sense we were penalized for being reward members. The hotel staff was great. The hotel was updated and had all amenities. There was not water in the guest rooms, but you could purchase in the lobby. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, but could have been an oversight. I was told I was safe to walk around and explore the city but I did not feel too safe.

The Albany Hilton may have been a great hotel at some point in its history. However, it is now a hotel in need of serious refurbishment. The first thing I noticed was a used condom laying on the sidewalk near the front entrance. When I got to my room I looked around and noticed the peeling paint from the ceiling. I've included pictures in my review. I was staying for one night so I turned a blind eye to the condom and peeling paint. I'm sure I'll be back in Albany for other business trip... Read more

Huge disconnect between hotel management/front desk and housekeeping and other services. Staff is rude and acts like simple requests are difficult, such as adding a third night to our stay. It took an hour of waiting in 80 degree heat and calling three times to get their shuttle to the hotel and then have them lie about the issue. Each time I called I was told the driver was on the way. Then I was told he did not see me. That was impossible because all the shuttles stop in one small area. When He arrived,he said he was never call until just before he arrived. This is a decent hotel but definitely not a higher end Hilton. I am traveling with the family up to Vermont and we decided to stop half way in Albany. For the price, approx $150, it is a nice, clean hotel but it lacks some elegance and class for being in the middle of the city. When she finally opened the door, she was surprised to see that the room was already occupied by other visitors, i could see someones clothes in there. The inconvenience starts on arrival: the parking is in a separate building; you drive in the garage, then walk down carrying all your luggage to the entrance of the garage, out to the entrance of the hotel, and up to your room. We travelled with little children, so we had a lot of stuff. The water in the hotel swimming pool was fairly dirty, I picked out a bundle of hair. The reception could not provide an area map; they pointed us to an Albany advertising booklet, but then could not locate the ... Read more

I stayed at the Hilton Albany, and was very happy with my stay. I had a room on the 15th floor, and had a great view of the city. My room was spacious and clean. The only problem was the wait for an elevator in the early morning hours. All the employees were pleasant and helpful. I was in Albany for a wedding, and the hotel was located in a perfect location for the church service and the reception. The shuttle service to and from the church was a real nice service.

Our check-in was kind of bumbled b'c first we stood there for a few minutes while two women at the desk worked on who knows what at their computers. Just a note, it would help if you could look up and acknowledge your guests. "Be with you in a moment". Something. Anyway, once we got called up, they couldn't find us - turns out we were already checked in, and that's when the very nice third woman came over to help. She explained she had already checked us in as we were part of a group coming fo... Read more

Location is great and a good base for the city centre. The multistorey car park next to the hotel does not have direct access to the hotel. If you don't want to trail your luggage up and down ramps drop them at the front before you park. Reception was fast and efficient. Room was average size with double rather than queen size bed. Very soft. TV a good size and crystal clear. The bathroom was very small. The shower over the bath has a lower ceiling so taller guests like myself will have ... Read more

Spent three nights at the Hilton, Albany for a conference last week. The hotel is laid out well and the lobby area is very nice for this pricepoint. Unfortunately, I quickly noticed dirt and debris in the corners and an over all lack of attention to detail. Ipaid extra for the executive floor. The room was pretty much the same as my colleagues that did not pay extra. There is a small executive lounge with a happy hour in the evening and small breakfast buffet in the morning. My stay here was great. Arrived and departed by Amtrak. Convenient shuttle from and to the station. Pickup was only 10 minutes after they were called. And to go back the time was arranged the night before. Check-in and check-out was friendly and quick. My Hilton Honors Diamond status was recognized and rewarded with water bottles. Was given the room chosen online and found it to be comfortable and quiet. Also ate at in-house Charters restaurant and that was a positive experience as well.

The first floor public areas are spacious and attractive. My room was a good size and comfortable, although the bathroom was a bit tight. All the staff - check-in, restaurant - were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for sightseeing downtown and getting to the Amtrak station early in the morning. A small complaint: Unlike other hotels, if you want just a cup of coffee in the morning, to take with you on the shuttle, you have to buy it. There's no guest coffee service.

No valet parking. No bellman. Food was below average. And the soft pillows kept me up all night. And lets not forget about the shower heads that are much too low. You have to bend down just to wash your hair. And skip the executive floor. They are all the same, but they make you pay more. I found out the hard way. And when i approached the front desk about the issue, they told me there was nothing they could do to refund the additional cost.
