Left my car in valet. The next morning I discovered a large scratch on the car. General manager has been dodging me for a week now. After several employees advised me that he was given the messages, He finally got on the phone. He was "looking into this"...that was now a week ago. Still no phone call? Poor customer service!

The staff was nice Ned the hotel was clean, but two major complaints. One, everyone is forced to use Valet Parking at a fee of $15 per night when there is plenty of room for everyone to park themselves. I would not stay here again because of that. Two, the hotel is under construction/renovation. This was not told to me! I had to stumble upon it myself and then saw a note posted on a table by the elevator that stated there was work going on.

We stayed here last weekend as I was doing henna at a local music festival. The location in Albany is very good and it's relatively easy to get to. The rooms were a little small. You could tell that the place could use a spiffing up on the floors with rooms on them. There was some thread bare carpet here and there and some dings and scratches on furniture and the walls. My only real issue was that I was unaware of the parking fee. It was if I remember 15/per night per vehicle. It could have be... Read more

our family stayed here two days and enjoyed the experience. The hotel is pet friendly and our dog was greeted warmly by the staff. The rooms were neat and clean and the staff handled requests promptly. The breakfast left a little to be desired, not a great selection. Hotel was a little expensive for price to value but pet friendly and location worked well.

Didn't get the room location/type I pre-booked and confirmed day before, nor an upgrade as a Diamond member. Parking charge is outrageous (way too high). Awesome restaurant (unaffiliated) is attached - two different sections and dinner menus, both fantastic quality and service. Some Hampton staff service was great, while others very poor. Never got copy of bill emailed as requested.

Our double room was neat and clean although it faced the parking lot and garbage receptacle. Didn't matter all that much because we were on a high floor and checked out in less than 18 hours. Breakfast was nicely presented although not as tasty as other Hampton Inns we have stayed at. However, the two ladies who put out the breakfast food were very friendly and accommodating. The front desk suggested a local place for us to have lunch, which was great. The parking fee is out of line. Park... Read more

Beautiful clean hotel and room. Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. Enjoyed Neutrogena products in bathroom. Hotel restaurant food was delicious with attentive staff. Hotel staff were polite, pleasant and informative. Check in and check out were very quick and easy. I was asked if I wanted a wake up call on check in and did in fact receive the call at the requested time. Very nice experience. I will use this hotel again when I am in the area. Many nearby restaurants in walking distance.

Overnight stopover prior to beginning of a long, three week road trip and arrived with pretty low expectations (for no real reason) which weren't helped by the exterior. However, once through the doors I was genuinely, pleasantly surprised. The check-in staff could not have been more helpful - trotting off to photocopy street maps for me and, the following morning, rustling up cabs - and the room was spacious, well appointed and spotless. I think this hotel forgot it was a Hampton. I mean, there's nothing wrong with Hamptons, but it's one of Hilton's lower end chains. Wouldn't know it from the cost for parking and the menus prices in the restaurants. All of that being said, the hotel is nice and in a great location.

I stayed for one night because my preferred hotel was booked. The location was convenient, but the parking, despite the required valet charge was inconvenient and not disclosed prior to my booking. I stayed the following night at a nearby hotel for a much better value and experience. The room appeared dirty and in need of renovation (carpet, decor). I will not stay at this location ever again and feel ripped off for my experience.

The experience was not good. There was some serious construction going on while we were there to study for the NY Bar. This was not mentioned when I booked, which was peculiar considering that they likely already had the contract. It was extremely noisy, and in addition, there was some kind of bomb alert that went off the day before the Bar so we all had to evacuate - it was a false alarm, which was somewhat ridiculous. Hampton Inn is right in the center of downtown Albany, near to sight seeing and the highway. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Hot breakfast is offered with no extra charge..waffles, eggs, potatotes, cereal, fruit etc. The only comment I have to make about the breakfast was that the eggs and potatoes were extremely salty. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Like most Hampton Inn's, you get a very nice room for a reasonable price and breakfast is included. The breakfast was good, although my wife who is dairy-free was disappointed that the eggs had cheese and/or milk in them every day (they do have hard-boiled eggs, though, which is better than nothing). Typical for a downtown location, the parking is extra, but it was relatively inexpensive and valet is included.

I will never stay here again. Lady checking us in sucked, she was rude and didn't care what we said. The guy working the overnights was just as bad. We went down to look for allergy medicine and he said sorry boys fresh out and sent us to the store near by. I have stayed here multiple times before but this will be my last.

Great location. Resturant located on the property has great food. We have stayed there twice and eaten at the bistro both times. This hotel accomdates pets -very convenient and welcoming. Parking is extra, but to be expected for downtown location.

Albany is such an interesting historical place. This Hampton Inn hotel is nice, and has an easy access to the I90. Would highly recommend for someone traveling great distance and needs a good rest, because the bed is good and firm. Check-in is quite easy, pleasant service, friendly receptionist even at the late hour. Decent breakfast served early in the morning which is good for early travelers.

This is a great hotel. Service and quality are same as any other Hampton Inn. The location is not at the heart of downtown, however within walking distance. Easy access to highway. Valet parking, however free street parking at night and weekend is usually available.

Night stand in room was sticky and no shampoo. Not a big deal but the checkout attendant didn't seem to care. The car valet system needs to be more efficient if you are counting on an early departure.

They don't tell you that you have to pay for parking until your day of check out. Other than that the place is average at best. Also returned for the second night and the key cards would not work in any of the doors so we had to stand outside and wait for staff to come let us in.

Very nice hotel and reasonably priced. Right downtown in the middle of everything you need. Many restaurants and pubs near by and close proximity to State house and courts. take a walk around state house area very nice architecture etc. Only draw back is way to many beggars on streets, maybe an issue for women. Hotel is very nice.

This hotel is in a perfect central location. It is a Hampton Inn. Once you have been to one, you have been to them all. The staff was very helpful in showing us how to use the business center and in getting a cab to the train and having an enjoyable breakfast. Good stop.

Stayed at this location for an overnight stay on business. Rooms were clean, average and seemed very much like a budget hotel. Walls were thin so I was able to hear late night concert goers return at the end of the night. If doing business in downtown Albany, it's a great, centralized location. The breakfast service was excellent but the menu left alot to be desired.

My fiancé and I stayed here for a night after attending a show at the Palace Theatre which was like 2 blocks up the street from the hotel which was great! Bunch of restaurants near by as well! The room we got (king room studio) was one of the biggest and nicest rooms I have ever stayed in! We really enjoyed ourselves there! Valet parking was great! Will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area again for a show!

Lots of hot things for breakfast: scrambled eggs, canadian bacon, fried potatoes, sausage, waffles (bake your own with hot irons waiting). Lots of variety of other things. Good coffee. Courteous and efficient check-in, bellman assisted. Strange parking logistics: Must drive around back for valet parking rather than have valet take your car from convenient front. Added charge for parking. Location is not ideal for center convention area of downtown. That is several blocks away. May be wor... Read more

i don't usually write reviews but ths time I have to.... long story short is that i was staying there for the Albany marathon and I missed my shuttle bus from the downtown area to the start line over 20 miles away. Husani, the front office manager realized how much distress I was in because no taxi was turning up, drove me to the start line. I arrived late but they allowed me to run. If Husani had not saved me my whole summer of training and trip to Albany would have been a total disaster... Tha... Read more

I checked in this evening and was assigned to a floor under construction. Ripped up floors. Smell of paint and/or carpet glue. Ridiculous. We were then shown to another room. Missing carpet and baseboards but it doesn't smell. What did I do to deserve that first room on a floor that should not be rented?? Never been here before (nor will I return) so couldn't have pissed someone off... not a pleasant place to stay.

This is one of the nicest Hampton Inn's I've stayed inn. Quick friendly check inn. Parking is overnight $15 valet. Our room was meticulously clean, modern, and very nice for the price. Offers a mini fridge and microwavw. Comfortable beds and pillows. Business desk allow ample pace to work. Outlets are fixate throughout the room to plug in. The spacious living area and large flat screen TV is nice to relax in after a long day on the road.

Location downtown Albany. Room was very clean and the lobby fantastic. Free Continental Breakfast and it was exceptionally good. Staff was friendly and the hotel will go above and beyond to meet your needs. Disappointed in lack of free parking - $15 per night - valet. Inconvenient since you need to bring your ticket and wait to get your keys. Cars are jammed so closely together, it can be a wait for your vehicle. Overall, this is a luxury hotel and the experience is fantastic.

Location is key, walking distance from main street, pearl st. Good place to stay for a short business trip. Breakfast is ok, rooms are ok. Mid size. Beds are confortable. Noisy AC... Surprise, mandatory valet parking but they take out your car quick in the morning so it is ok. I will probably return. The restaurant in the hotel is operated independantly so you cannot charge to your room... Could be a surprise if you did not bring your wallet with you...

I asked for a new room as the hotel is under remodel I guess I wanted the 10th floor with the perks but ours was good couldn't understand the upcharge though. The walk was nice to dinner and the bar was good at the hotel. No pool or spa. But most downtown city hotels don't have that I guess. Comfy bed and clean. Stayed for a night for parents weekend at a local college. Very convenient, right off I-787. Rooms were exactly what you would expect, clean, quiet. Breakfast buffet was fine, too. The only annoyance? There is NO PARKING anywhere around the hotel except for pay lot, so you wind up being required to spend an additional $15 fee to park. So rooms are really 10% more expensive. Not the end of the world, but an annoyance. There are a ton of hotels in Albany, not sure we come back because of that.

Hampton Inn in downtown Albany is in an excellent location - walking distance to Palace Theater (couple of blocks) and at least two museums. Hotel is undergoing an upgrade and I was lucky enough to get a room upgrade (be nice to the front desk staff!). But there were odd little slips - hallway coffee/tea stand was messy for hours, and it's right next to the elevators so pretty noticeable. But my room was big and lovely, with desk, sink, mini-fridge and coffee maker. Here again, though, there was... Read more

This is a very nice place to stay, central located in down town Albany NY. Its in walking distance to a lot of great place. The room was very nicely updated and very clean. One thing that was a small issues to me was......after charging you 150.00 a night on top of that they charge 15.00 bucks to park per night. This isn't a budget hotel at rate of 150.00 a night so this isn't a good business decision on there part.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn, Downtown Albany this past weekend for the second time. Enjoyed it's central location to the Pearl street bars and restaurants, but the thing that sets it apart is the staff. We were part of a small group of families who were in town for our sons' college football game and the staff went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. Thank you.
