I stay in Hampton Inns a lot - they're my business trip hotel of choice. But this was different. This time we were on vacation in Taos, NM. But the hotel was still great. It's a new property, and I really liked a lot of the small touches - like both 110 V and USB charging stations built right into the desk and the nightstand. The staff was awesome, and the breakfast was...well, it was a Hampton Inn breakfast. I'll stay here again, for sure.

While the room with nice shades to lower and comfortable furniture made for a pleasant stay ultimately, there were things that could have been better. Our TV remote was not programmed and required a manager to come and fix it. We wasted a lot of water waiting for the hot to arrive at the tap. The shower door leaked a lot of water on the floor which used up a lot of towels to mop up. The hotel seems like it hasn't been open too long. It has some challenges that need resolution.

As is usually the case, a friendly welcoming staff and nice clean room. Breakfast was a zoo. It appears the eating area does not match the capacity of the hotel. Unrelated, but perhaps of interest, across the street is the Sagebrush Inn. I mention it only because if you are at the Hampton and do not want to drink and drive, go easy at dinner while you're in Taos (3 miles away) and have a drink or two in the Sagebrush Cantina when you get back. If you're there on a Friday or Saturday, there wil... Read more

We did not receive the room we reserved. A week in advance we reserved a king and when we got there were put into a room with 2 queens and told it was an upgrade (view of parking lot). Everything else was Hampton quality.

This was the 3rd Hilton affiliate on our trip -- no consistency from property to property. This was the cleanest one. However, the Taos staff could use more training. We had a Hilton gift card and they didn't know how to process it. They recommended local restaurants, but had never had never eaten there and didn't have copies of the menus. No place to sit at breakfast. Worst of all, there must have been many children in the room above us. We could hear them running across the room and jumping of... Read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this small hotel. Walking in it looked immaculate. Our room was all ready for us and it looked as though it had undergone some renovations. Minor points (which did not detract from our stay) was the lack of anywhere to store our clothes, very odd. The bathroom door was of a sliding affair which did not give much privacy. Breakfast was great. It was very quiet on the mornings we were there but nonetheless the lovely lady in charge was on top of everything, st... Read more

A convienient hotel on the main street. It has obviously been renovated because the fixtures are new and don't fit properly. The telephone didn't work and the "free" WiFi was down with no idea as to why or when it would be repaired. Was told to use my cell phone if I had to dial 911 while I stayed there.

I really do not like going into any establishment and not being acknowledged. My wife and I stayed here to meet an old friend who was in town and when we arrived the front desk clerk looked at us like a deer in headlights and never said a word of welcome. If you are shy or whatever maybe this is not the job for you. Other than that the room, grounds, breakfast, etc were fine.

I stay in a lot of hotels in New Mexico. This one has apparently undergone a renovation and boy did they do a good job. The bathroom is spacious. The bed comfortable. The climate control worked superbly. My only concern was there was no bacon on the breakfast menu. However the potatoes and eggs or ample for my appetite. A word of caution the hallways are quite long so if you're older ask to stay closer to the elevator.

First, my rating of 4 is on the high end for this property, but it's probably better than a 3. Let's call it a 3.5 We spent 2 nights here on a road trip through New Mexico around the 4th of July. We returned after a number of years to revisit one of our favorite places. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly. My criticism is of the layout of the bathroom. The door was the popular sliding barn door type; slide one way to open the closet and the other to open the bathroom. By opening the closet someone could be trapped in the bathroom and vice-versa. Also with the door placement, anyone on the stairway outside the room could see into the shower. Also we called the placement of the toilet paper "the morning stretch routine" since it was on the back wall, sam... Read more

The Hampton Inn did not disappoint. The room was clean but a bit small. The hotel staff was very helpful. I had asked ahead of time for a bottom floor room close to the lobby and that happened. I do wish there were handicapped rooms that had two beds. The breakfast was not your typical. It was great with many choices. If we return to Taos we will definitely stay here again.

Overpriced. Swimming pool closed for maintenance. Rooms small. Bed hard. Could hear the neighbors. The funny thing was the little yellow hand written sticky note on the headboard saying "Duvet covers & sheets are clean for your arrival", really I thought that was a given. Don't get me started on the breakfast. Save your money. This nothing more then an overpriced Motel 6 with a Hampton name.

Busy week in Taos had rooms going for way too much, but this was at 129. Pool was being repaired, but that really has no bearing on me since I doubt I'd use it anyway. Room was comfortable, newly remodeled and stayed cold when I slept. Free breakfast worked out nicely and there was enough parking. Outside of the 'Downtown ' area, but if you look at a map you can avoid all the traffic headed into town. Would stay here, again.

This hotel rooms appear to be recently updated but the furniture is already showing moderate wear including a broken desk chair, which house keeping would have seen when they cleaned the room , and needed repairs to the wall, at least in our room. The thing that will stand out to anyone who spent the night of 28/morning of 29 July is lack of hot water throughout the entire hotel. The breakfast was the standard Hampton breakfast.

Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Good hot breakfast daily. Coffee always fresh and properly made, if it says Bold, it is. Clean and fresh rooms. Overall good hotel for the price and services. Awesome staff.

The people at the front desk were cordial and helpful. Our original plan was to stay in Taos one night then go home to Colorado. We decided we needed to stay one more night and do more searching for ancestral information. The people at the front desk were helpful in getting the same room for us so we could leave our bags in that room.

October 20, 2016 - Upon check in around 4pm, we were greeted as silver reward members. Upon request, we were given room 104, which was just off the lobby, not far from the fitness center, laundry, and breakfast area. To our surprise, the hotel hosts an evening social on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. This evening, the social included Frito pie which was Frito chips with meat in a saucer over the chips. Also included were different chips, popcorn, and non alcoholic drinks. It was a ... Read more

We stayed here the first two nights of our vacation. Got into town around 3:00 p.m. and were able to check into our 2 Queen room. Wifi worked great. Staff was very helpful giving directions to view hot air balloon the next morning, though when we got back to our room we were actually able to view it from there! Fantastic! Everything was clean. Breakfast was great, bacon, bagels, waffles in a nice atmosphere. Paid with Hilton points. Only downside(wasn't their fault) was I got sick the fi... Read more

Great Hampton experience with an amazing, engaging, accommodating staff! If you're in the area, this is certainly the best option for a positive stay. I'm a happy HHonors member once again!....... :-)

Stayed two nights while on a driving trip thru Colorado and New Mexico. We arrived early and were delighted to find our room ready so that we could check-in, unpack and start having fun in Taos. Our King room was clean and well appointed with a nice sofa, good TV and Internet access. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We found the bath area to be spacious with plenty of nice towels and toiletries. Our room was on the first floor on the pool side. It was very convenient to parking and very... Read more

The hotel was easy to find on route 64. We had a reasonably quiet room halfway along the hotel but those nearer the road may well be a bit noisy. Our room was clean and comfortable, although a little tired in places. It didn't affect our stay though. Breakfast was fairly basic. Taos is a very interesting place to visit, especially the old Town and the art museums. I'm glad we could spend the day there.

Typical doesn't mean boring. It means that the hotel lives up to the standards touted by the parent company. You know what to expect. Good Breakfast, spacious room, fridge, and decent work area. WiFin was good and the room had plenty of receptacles. Clean and quiet.

Overall stay was nice. Hotel was clean and nicely updated. The staff was great but our complaint was with the bathroom and more specially the showers. We couldn't take a shower at night because the water was ice cold. Not even warm, ice cold. I wouldn't even take a shower that cold in the middle of summer much less fall in Taos.

Hampton Inns can be hit or miss (I don't think they are consistent enough). This one is a hit. It is modern, very clean. Comfortable beds. Nice lobby and breakfast area. Power problems when we arrived; we went to dinner and problem was solved when we returned.

I liked the welcome reception. There was tea and coffee plus chips and salsa. My room was big and comfortable. I love the bed. The hotel has a pool and hot tub. The breakfasts is awesome. They have locally made tamales. The staff and friendly and attentive. I travel for government business and the hotel does not offer government rate, at least it does not have the rate available often. That is too bad because I like the hotel.

We chose the Hampton over some other quaint, southwest-adobe style hotels because of 1) Cost 2) Free Breakfast 3) While reviews of other hotels used words such as 'quaint' and 'authentic', they also mentioned "could use updating' or 'could have been cleaner'. We were happy with our choice even though it wasn't near the square.
