This is the best place to stay in Socorro but that bar is below sea level. The next-door Best Western and the Holiday Inn are both owned by the Mayor. While the gym is awful at the Holiday Inn you can use the one at the Best Western. The one in the Annex of the hotel has better equipment. The Holiday Inn rooms are tired, old and in need of upgrading. Probably clean but just do not feel like it especially the carpet. Make sure your room is far from the elevator and not on the side facing the ... Read more

I had a recent trip to Socorro, NM for a conference coordinated by New Mexico Tech. The Holiday Inn Express was one of the suggested hotel options and I booked a four-night stay. I had never been to Socorro, though those who had passed through said it was a very small town with not much 'action'...leading me to think the hotel would be fairly bland. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. It is a well maintained hotel, small, and in a good location. It was within walking distance of the univers... Read more

Very clean and had a free hot breakfast in the lobby. Nice staff. Had a pool and hot tub. The town is very small so you can walk basically anywhere you want in about 20 minutes. Probably the best hotel in town, other I knew stayed in places that weren't as nice.

Attentive and friendly staff, clean and comfortable environment. I stayed at this hotel several times in the past year and was satisfied on all visits. This is the best hotel in Socorro by far. Book in advance because this hotel is always full.

This is a standard Holiday Inn Express, complete with quick-&-free breakfast. The Wi-fi is good, the rooms are clean and quiet, the A/C is good, fridges & micros in the rooms, plus now they've added Keurig pots instead of those awful one-cup contraptions they used to have. YEA! Go next door to Socorro Springs Brewery for a great pizza while you're here.

We stayed in six Holiday Inn Express hotels on a recent NM trip. This site was slightly above average. It was clean, quiet, had friendly staff, the wi-fi worked, and the food is standard fare. It is very convenient off the interstate, and a great jumping off point for trips to VLA, Bosque del Apache wildlife reserve or the El Camino Real Museum. Very good value, and a nice hotel in a charming town.

I am here while attending IRBT and didn't know what to expect. I'm very happy. Do not hesitate to book here Brothers. The room is big and clean. The bedding comfortable, love the Kauarg. Nice breakfast with eggs, and a cool pancake machine. Didn't get a chance to use the pool looks nice. The gym is too small and needs better ventilation. Considering the bulk of the guests are from NMT the gym gets more use then normal. The rooms AC is loud and makes it hard to sleep at times.

Was in town for training and stayed for four nights. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. AC worked great to keep the room cool and also worked a white noise couldn't hear anyone else in the hotel. Breakfast was ok they have a lot of choices. Central to everything in town but everything is central there. Probably the best choice in the area.

Left within two hours because the front desk kept telling us there were complaints of noise, we were traveling with our 21 month old granddaughter who is pretty much run of the mill active, but you put her in a car seat for 7 hours and let her out then she is going to be a bundle of activity. We asked to be moved to the first floor they said they were booked which they later retracted and said they had singles. When we asked what they wanted us to do they just kept replying there are complaints,... Read more

This little town did not have much to it. I was there for explosives training for my work. But this hotel was very clean. The rooms were absolutely spotless and comfortable. The free breakfast in the morning was plentiful. So plentiful that some of the guys that stayed next door at the best western would walk over to the holiday inn to eat breakfast with us because they said the breakfast at their hotel was subpar. This hotel has a little gym but got the job done.

I don't like to give reviews that aren't good but I guess they need to be out there for other travelers. There are some good points and some not so good points. For the not so good points, after I checked in and walked down the hallway, it had the smell of a place not taken care of and there was dust/dirt around the edges and corners, carpet quite worn. My room smelled the same. I tried to open the window to let fresh air in, but the windows don't open. It wasn't horrible but enough that I would... Read more

Stayed here for a couple of days for business. The hotel is in pretty good shape overall, and clean. It is on the main street for the city and close to pretty much everything in the area. The room was clean, the carpet could have stood a deep cleaning or replacement, but the furnishings were clean, the bed and linens were good. The breakfast was standard for Holiday Inn's. Stayed on the third floor and everything in the room worked great. (A/C, fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, TV, even te... Read more

Very nice, clean, well kept hotel. I had a first floor room and it was centrally located. Quiet location and easy access in and out. Breakfast was "OK", nothing special, but the eggs, sausages, pancakes, etc were good... Clean rooms with good house keeping personnel to keep the rooms fresh and clean. Nice rooms with single or double beds, microwave, refridgerator, TV, and Kuriq Coffee maker. I have stayed at many hotels, and this Holiday Inn is well worth the stay. Good Wi-fi connections ... I left a pair of tennis shoes at this hotel never expected to see them again. The housekeeping staff found them and the front desk staff returned them to me! This never happens and made such a good impression on me as our visit was very nice and enjoyable!

Driving across New Mexico's Big Empty can be daunting. Don't push through! Stop in Socorro at the Holiday Inn Express. The room was beautiful & clean, the mattress was amazing. The front desk guy was welcoming and directed me to a nice dinner as well as explaining where things were. Breakfast was a tasty surprise, and ready earlier than listed, which helped me get on the road.

I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was as clean and accommodating as it turned out to be. However, be warned the windows in the rooms don't open. I love open windows and this bothered me but otherwise everything was great. The continental breakfast is a nice plus.

We stayed at the HIE and attended a star party in Magdalena. We were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is very clean and comfortable and we slept great. The weekend breakfast is served until noon which is GREAT if you want to sleep in and rest! Breakfast was delicious and had everything from bacon, sausage and eggs to cereal, oatmeal and pancakes. If we ever have to stay in Socorro, NM again, we will definitely be back.

Same room (101) very clean and stocked daily. By far this is the best hotel to stay at while in Socorro on business. The staff is very helpful as usual. My one and only complaint his time is the lack of the "free breakfast". Based on all of the emergency responders having to be at class at once (7 or 8 am ), there's a mad rush for food. Out of my four days there, I had to buy my own breakfast twice from McDonalds and had to go the Best Western once because HIE was out of food (eggs, bagels, baco... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel since it first opened. It is the newest hotel in Socorro. Overall it is a good hotel, however I am noticing that it is slowly going downhill. The shower needed some work and other maintenance needs were seen. The service is pretty good.

This hotel is well maintained and the staff is friendly. There is plenty of parking but I can??t remember if there is parking for pickups with trailers. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Room prices seemed a little higher than what I expected for the area but the rate was still reasonable. After a long day on the road it was a pleasant place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently located within a short distance from an interstate 25 exit and is clean and comfortable. Although the hotel was completely booked during a portion of my three night stay, it was very quiet. The front desk staff were friendly. The breakfast offerings were plentiful and diverse. The driving time from this hotel to Bosque del Apache was 20-30 minutes.

As a loyal customer to IHG chain, we decide to stay this HIE as our first stop of Thanksgiving holiday trip, to visit the famous Sandhill Crans at Bosque del Apache. As always, this HIE doesn't disappoint us. No surprise here, which is good as you know exactly what you will get before go, like clean room, good location, hot breakfast, friendly staff, no hassle check in&out, and so on. In fact, it is because of the "no surprise" which attract me to always consider IHG as the first choice of ac... Read more
