Pickin's are somewhat slim on I40 east of Albuquerque. This HI wasn't bad it was just very average. The front desk person was friendly and efficient. This hotel simply needs some upgrades with furniture.

Good breakfast & Excellent Staff. All staff members were very friendly & courteous. Room was clean . Did not have any problems with any noise & had a restful nights stay. Good location right on Route 66 close to several good restaurants.

This is the most Rundown HIE we've ever stayed in and we've been in almost 20 during our cross country drives. Furniture is really shabby with an AV cabinet from the 80s redone for a flatscreen. The elevator fan is noisy giving a good indication of the worn down conditions to come. An iron hanging in the middle of the living room would be funny if it weren't so sad. If you're on I40, keep driving to another town. Restaurants are all bad for the most part in Santa Rosa. Sad.

Okay, I really love Holiday Inn Express hotels nationwide. But this one off of Rt 40 is the worst I've seen on 5 cross country trips (driving). This should be renamed 'No Tell Motel' as it is a worn out, down trodden site that looks like the stereotypical image we have of truck stop inns. The furniture was beat up and the flatscreen TV was retrofitted into an 'armoire ' that previously held a CRT. The sofa has to be 20 years old and the desk chair is right out of the 80s enhanced by 30 years of... Read more

Stay one night as I passed through on I-40. Outside looked great, parking was great as well. Inside was a bit dated as the breakfast area was very small but did the job the next morning. Now for everything else, if a Holiday Inn ever needed to be remodeled, this is one of them. The room was not so fresh the furniture was well used and TV was hard to see due to being in a console like cabinet. I black out curtain was derailed, not sure how housekeeping missed that. The bathroom, well... it need... Read more

Note: My husband and I travel often, usually staying in hotels. Sometimes we are luxury travelers, sometimes budget. I review hotels/restaurants at a relative level, not comparing a $100 room to a $400 room. To be fair, I adjust my level of scrutiny accordingly. My husband and I embarked on road trip, driving to the East Coast from California and back over 3 weeks. This location was our 17th night on the trip. We normally book through AAA, which offers the most attractive room rates. We have fou... Read more

Rooms were comfortable and roomy. Entire staff from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet, best ever, eggs were cooked nicely and they had extra condiments (salsa, cheese, etc) to add to the eggs. The meats were also cooked nicely. Love the waffle maker!

Really enjoyed the hotel, the front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was big enough for my husband's and my SCUBA gear. Also had a couple of options of carts to load it all up. The breakfast was good, typical breakfast for this hotel chain. The attendant to the breakfast was very friendly. Overall, a great clean place to stay. Thank you!

We were in Santa Rosa, NM. for a car show and had planned to stay two nights Sept. 16 & 17. One night was enough, indoor pool too cold to enjoy, hot tub did not work, bathroom floor in Room 116 was not clean, this is an older property that has not been well maintained, inside the shower a repair patch on the wall was done but no touch up paint. This is not the type Holiday Inn Express we expected! Great breakfast, friendly staff, never again!

My aunt and I were on a cross country drive out to my new school, we had just come from one of the WORST experiences in a hotel we had ever had (the freaking elevator at the last hotel had dropped 4 floors with us in it!) and were exhausted from having driven from Memphis into New Mexico. We saw the bright and super well lit hotel, grit our teeth from our last experience and walked in. We were incredibly surprised! It was incredibly clean and despite the line of people checking in the front desk... Read more
