The Lodge at Santa Fe is a moderate price hotel outside of the city with views of a cemetery. First impression is that the hotel is understaffed from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping. The room was adequate, reasonably clean (note to housekeeping - need to vacuum along the walls and under tables and chairs). Bathroom badly needs an update. The toilet seat was gouged and should really be replaced. Sink drainage was slow. The rooms are not soundproofed well and you will hear... Read more

The Lodge at Santa Fe was a wonderful experience for my little sister Teresa and myself. We flew into Santa Fe and had no problem locating it. It was near the freeway, so we went to Taos for the day. It was on the outskirt of Santa Fe, was very peaceful in October. We could see the National Cemetery from the restaurant patio. The food was excellent. The staff were so friendly and gave Teresa a wine voucher for her birthday. We had a lovely view to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. I just wish the... Read more

We stayed here for three nights. The place was very reasonably priced and clean. I loved the decor. I loved the decor. We had a comfortable king sized bed. The view was not great....up a small trail to the top of a hill but the view of the mountain chain from the dining room was lovely. It was sad to see the military graveyard. We breakfasted two of the three mornings. The breakfast was ok. The shuttle to the centre of Santa Fe was much appreciated. It was timely.....just a few minutes ... Read more

We stayed in one of the suites and the rooms were very large and well laid out. However, the carpets are worn and torn and probably 30% of the electric outlets did not work. In most of those, one of the two sockets would work but the other would not. Strange. Also, the hair dryer did not work. The first night we only had one bar of soap (for two bathrooms and a shower) and the 2nd night we didn't get any hand towels and only one wash cloth. Too bad. With just a little attention to the sma... Read more

What distinguished this hotel and makes it worthwhile to stay there is service. Staff is super friendly and helpful. At the reception, Laura is a very sweet agent and Luic took my luggage to my room and gave me plenty of information about Santa Fe. Michelle, at the bar, makes you feel you are part of the family. I only witnessed great attitude from everyone I encountered, which kind of compensate for the many issues I have experienced with my room. When I first arrived in my room there wer... Read more

We were pleasantly please to fine our room very large, and clean. We were traveling with a therapy dog. For Santa Fe a hotel room can be very pricey downtown, Our lovely room was only $78 dollars for two adults and a dog. l The restaurant was closed, and so was the pool. I think the hotel is having some financial problems, however it did not fall down on the cleanliness of the hotel itself. It was a short easy drive to downtown Santa Fe, and easy access off the highway. The hotel is dog friend... Read more

This is my second visit to the lodge. I knew the condition of the hotel is not fantastic but rates are really reasonable for being so close to downtown and the service really makes up for the problems they have. The first room they gave me had several lights out, the window would not lock and the sink leaked. The staff was very gracious and apologetic and promptly gave me another room. Great attitude goes a long way. I will be back

If you want to be down town, this is not the place. However, this is a nice older lodge with comfortable beds and clean rooms. They host a pool and hot tub. Also, there is a restaurant inside the property. The rate is very affordable. The theme is rustic western. You get a nice view of Santa Fe as this sits on the hill above the edge of the city. Could be a real gem if they updated.

This pleasant hotel is located in a quiet area just outside the centre of Santa Fe. The hotel operates a shuttle service into the town, about a five minute drive away. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff who made our stay a real pleasure. They are just incredibly nice people! We enjoyed breakfast and evening meals in the attractive dining room a few times, and drank margaritas in the bar looking out over the mountains. We had a comfortable large room with two q... We hesitated staying at the lodge because of mixed reviews and decided to give it a try in the end. Rates are much lower than the other hotels downtown and they have a shuttle that takes you to the plaza for free. People are very nice, especially the front desk personnel who gave us a map of downtown and made lots of recommendations for what to see and do and helped us with our luggage. They even made restaurant reservations and called museums for us to get more info on their special exhibits... Read more

Nice looking hotel with fabulous employees. The lady who checked us in made our visit wonderful with her professionalism and great attitude. However much of the hotel was dirty. And the dining room was dirty. At first look it looked nice. But i had a difficult time finding a chair to sit in that was not totally disgusting. But i dismissed that thinking maybe they had an early rush and just hadn't gotten around to cleaning it. Once we were eating however and i looked around it became obvious that... Read more

Went for a work trip and got a great rate at the Lodge. The hotel was clean and easy to work with. I used the gym a couple times and it doesn't have much for equipment. An elipitcal machine and a weight machine that needed repairs. The pool was just opening (mid May) so we didn't have a chance to check out the pool. My daughter and I were on a two-week road trip and I chose to book one night at The Lodge. My first impression was that the lobby was beautifully decorated; and the gentleman that checked us in was very kind and welcoming. Our room was quiet, spacious and comfortable. The toiletries provided were excellent. We slept well, and would absolutely recommend this hotel. We will book again when in the area.

We stayed here eight years ago while visiting Santa Fe and once again had a room with a beautiful view of the mountains, however several things need attention. The front desk staff can barely crack a smile, especially the French gentleman. When asked for change (for laundry) or anything really , he seems irritated and someone else back there offers to help. The hot tub did not work and was drained during our entire stay. That's unacceptable. The rooms need some updating. The balcony furniture is... Read more

Stayed for 4 nights at the end of June and whilst the room was good there were a few issues with the hotel that need attention. All of these were raised with staff whilst staying there and although not sorted during our stay I hope that they have been taken on board as it's a lovely venue with lots of potential. The main issue appears to be a lack of staff resources to offer the services expected of a hotel like this: We had a check-in time of 3pm on all initial confirmations but this was cha... Read more

Check in was quick and friendly. The room was adequate but it would have been nice to have a mini fridge. The room had only one window and the shade was broken so we were unable to raise it to let any light in or enjoy our pool view. We called the front desk immediately to ask for it to be repaired but nobody came to fix it. It was a very cavernous room with no natural light for 4 days. Having never been to Santa Fe, we asked around and research online for a nice place to stay. We were encouraged by friends to stay at The Saint Francis, but we were able to get a room at The Lodge for nearly half the price. The room was very decent, though lacking a little in cleanliness (carpet was dirty and we found used towels behind the bathroom door); we liked the southwest decor. The Pros: The staff was very friendly, the beds were comfortable, the pool area was nice. The Cons: The carpets were threadbare and dirty in many places, the air conditioning in some rooms just didn't work, room drawers were crookedly aligned and almost falling out. It's a reasonable and comfortable property if you get it a budget price and don't mind needing to deal with room shortcomings.

Very quaint hotell with very friendly staff. The rooms were very clean, but everything is so old! Air conditionings are over 20 years old and they sporadically work, and they still have tube televisions! The bed was a little on the soft side but, other than that we had a great stay. You can't beat the price. Scenic view of the mountains and really quaint. I found it just charming. Shuttle service to downtown was awesome and so convenient. Carpet was worn but not gross. Rooms were clean. TVs were old, but did you come to Santa Fe to watch tv? Good bar upstairs, and simple breakfast is included. Staff did seem overwhelmed, but we're always helpful.
