The Lodge at Santa Fe is a moderate price hotel outside of the city with views of a cemetery. First impression is that the hotel is understaffed from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping. The room was adequate, reasonably clean (note to housekeeping - need to vacuum along the walls and under tables and chairs). Bathroom badly needs an update. The toilet seat was gouged and should really be replaced. Sink drainage was slow. The rooms are not soundproofed well and you will hear... Read more

The Lodge at Santa Fe was a wonderful experience for my little sister Teresa and myself. We flew into Santa Fe and had no problem locating it. It was near the freeway, so we went to Taos for the day. It was on the outskirt of Santa Fe, was very peaceful in October. We could see the National Cemetery from the restaurant patio. The food was excellent. The staff were so friendly and gave Teresa a wine voucher for her birthday. We had a lovely view to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. I just wish the... Read more

We stayed here for three nights. The place was very reasonably priced and clean. I loved the decor. I loved the decor. We had a comfortable king sized bed. The view was not great....up a small trail to the top of a hill but the view of the mountain chain from the dining room was lovely. It was sad to see the military graveyard. We breakfasted two of the three mornings. The breakfast was ok. The shuttle to the centre of Santa Fe was much appreciated. It was timely.....just a few minutes ... Read more

We stayed in one of the suites and the rooms were very large and well laid out. However, the carpets are worn and torn and probably 30% of the electric outlets did not work. In most of those, one of the two sockets would work but the other would not. Strange. Also, the hair dryer did not work. The first night we only had one bar of soap (for two bathrooms and a shower) and the 2nd night we didn't get any hand towels and only one wash cloth. Too bad. With just a little attention to the sma... Read more

What distinguished this hotel and makes it worthwhile to stay there is service. Staff is super friendly and helpful. At the reception, Laura is a very sweet agent and Luic took my luggage to my room and gave me plenty of information about Santa Fe. Michelle, at the bar, makes you feel you are part of the family. I only witnessed great attitude from everyone I encountered, which kind of compensate for the many issues I have experienced with my room. When I first arrived in my room there wer... Read more

We were pleasantly please to fine our room very large, and clean. We were traveling with a therapy dog. For Santa Fe a hotel room can be very pricey downtown, Our lovely room was only $78 dollars for two adults and a dog. l The restaurant was closed, and so was the pool. I think the hotel is having some financial problems, however it did not fall down on the cleanliness of the hotel itself. It was a short easy drive to downtown Santa Fe, and easy access off the highway. The hotel is dog friend... Read more

This is my second visit to the lodge. I knew the condition of the hotel is not fantastic but rates are really reasonable for being so close to downtown and the service really makes up for the problems they have. The first room they gave me had several lights out, the window would not lock and the sink leaked. The staff was very gracious and apologetic and promptly gave me another room. Great attitude goes a long way. I will be back

If you want to be down town, this is not the place. However, this is a nice older lodge with comfortable beds and clean rooms. They host a pool and hot tub. Also, there is a restaurant inside the property. The rate is very affordable. The theme is rustic western. You get a nice view of Santa Fe as this sits on the hill above the edge of the city. Could be a real gem if they updated.

This pleasant hotel is located in a quiet area just outside the centre of Santa Fe. The hotel operates a shuttle service into the town, about a five minute drive away. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff who made our stay a real pleasure. They are just incredibly nice people! We enjoyed breakfast and evening meals in the attractive dining room a few times, and drank margaritas in the bar looking out over the mountains. We had a comfortable large room with two q... We hesitated staying at the lodge because of mixed reviews and decided to give it a try in the end. Rates are much lower than the other hotels downtown and they have a shuttle that takes you to the plaza for free. People are very nice, especially the front desk personnel who gave us a map of downtown and made lots of recommendations for what to see and do and helped us with our luggage. They even made restaurant reservations and called museums for us to get more info on their special exhibits... Read more

All of these were raised with staff whilst staying there and although not sorted during our stay I hope that they have been taken on board as it's a lovely venue with lots of potential. The Pros: The staff was very friendly, the beds were comfortable, the pool area was nice. The Cons: The carpets were threadbare and dirty in many places, the air conditioning in some rooms just didn't work, room drawers were crookedly aligned and almost falling out.
