We had driven over 500 miles on our way home in Denver the day we arrived here. We were in an RV but decided to stay in a motel since a major spring storm was bearing down on Raton Pass and the Colorado front range. We arrived after 5 pm and didn't feel like going out to dinner and there aren't any restaurants close enough to walk. To our surprise, they have a " snack" available in their breakfast room. They had meats, cheeses, rolls, green salad, pasta salad and coffee. Everything was wonderful... Read more

We have stayed 5 times and every time we are happy. Clean and comfortable, breakfast is really good, great parking and it's not huge so you don't have to walk far to your room. Annie that works there is the best. She is so nice and makes sure you have what you need. Say hi to her when your there.

Great staff, very friendly. Room was good except no bathtub (but a large shower). Nice, clean room. The pool was clean. Great outside patio area. Breakfast included several hot dishes and there was a "happy hour" from 5-7 which included snacks and non alcoholic drinks which was great.

This Holiday Express has been "renovated' but it still feels very old. The floors creak and thankfully we were put on the second floor. For $79-89 this might be an OK deal but we paid close to $150 once taxes and fees were included. Surely there are better choices: the same company advertises a Holiday Express 90 miles down the road closer to Santa Fe and from the road it looked quite a bit newer and better.

Stayed here Thursday night 5/19. Very clean hotel with nice big comfy bed. Was upgrade to a large suite for free for being a HIG reward member. We also used our points so the room was no charge. Can't beat that. Staff was nice and friendly. After a 12 hr drive it was just what we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Free wifi. Just what you expect form the Holiday Day inn franchise.

We were greeted by very friendly front desk staff. Evening reception was plenty for a meal. Very dog friendly with a treat for our furry travel companion. Breakfast was great, both hot and cold options. Beds were so good, I didn't want to get up. All in all, a great value for the money.

A great overnight pause enroute to Colorado Springs from the Texas Hill Country. Breakfast choices fit all four of us... And the hard-boiled eggs were peeled. In stead of a "stop" it turned into a mini-vacation leg of our vacation.

We checked into this hotel traveling through Raton. Right away we are met with staff telling us not to yell at them due to the price they are about to quote us. She said they could do whatever they wanted due to the fact they had several awards. I do not believe receiving service awards as a service establishment to warrant higher pricing. This is a Holiday Inn Express, not a 4-5 star resort destination. The beds, bath, breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary and being met at the desk ... Read more

We've stayed at this hotel twice in the last 2 years. It is the friendliest, cleanest, and family feeling hotel I've ever stayed at. What a wonderful place to stay!! Everyone has been so welcoming, and they even had evening snacks hearty enough that we did not have to go back out for dinner. The hotel is beautiful and inviting. The lobby has a fireplace with a family like setting that includes games for guests to play. The dining area is amazing and roomy enough for many guests. We will definitely come back!

Convenient location (even with the expressway construction), friendly, helpful staff, nice decor and rooms. By far the best breakfast of any hotel we've stayed at. When we first checked in, the first room was too hot..the AC was frozen, but they moved us to another room immediately and sent someone to fix the first room--no hesitation no arguments, (at other hotels if things weren't right it took a lot of effort to get things made right but not here). Stayed one night while passing through Raton on our way back from a vacation. We had two rooms that were connected. The rooms were both very well cleaned and made up--probably the best we have seen. They rooms smelled fresh, which was something we don't always get in some hotel rooms. Great experience. The road construction had me very frustrated at 2 in the morning. I called the hotel and the clerk was very helpful. She was so warm and friendly. The lock on the room door would not latch, and the controller on the air did not work, but too tired to care. When I told the girl at the front desk in the morning, for info only, she was very gracious and unexpectedly discounted my room for the inconvenience. Hotel is well kept and clean. However the decor is a bit dated. Breakfast Ok. The pool was cloudy. Good place to stop on the road, however a little overpriced at 200/night. This is one of the few hotels in Raton with internal room entry. When we stayed, there was a balloon launch right behind the hotel, which was great!

I had not stayed in a Holiday Inn of any sort for many years and my opinion previously of those that I had stayed in was just mediocre. Having said that, I was not expecting much when I made these reservations. What a pleasant surprise I had in store for me. This was a classy place which was clean, had good sized rooms and personable staff. This has changed my opinion of the chain and hopefully others I may stay at in the future will be this nice.

Rooms are typical HIE. Clean but could use minor repairs like tube drain not working and for some reason the odor of cigarette smoke in a no smoking room. Anna can make a heat and serve breakfast taste as if she had just home cooked it herself she always wears a smile and makes you feel like family. Majority of staff are friendly and helpful. It really would have been nice to know about the freeway exit closure prior to arrival.

We enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express because they usually offer great amenities at a reasonable price. This hotel is no exception, the rooms are very spacious with a sitting area being separated from the bedroom by a half wall.
