You cannot go wrong with the Hampton Inn--nice staff, clean rooms and hot breakfast. This is the closest hotel to Bandelier National Monument, about 20 minutes drive. The hotel is also 5 minutes drive to White Rock Overlook with gorgeous view of the Rio Grande River and surrounding valley. If possible, get a sunrise picture from this place. When we were there, the hotel was in the midst of renovation. The top third floor had just been renovated and the crew was starting on the second floor. ... Read more

Great hotel, very clean, great staff. Was trying to stay at buffalo thunder, but $300 a night was to high. Stayed here (17) miles away for $100. And the rooms were nicer than the resort. Would stay there again....

We were able to get an early check in, thanks to Donna, on duty manager, helping us out. My wife wasn't feeling well as we were headed to Los Alamos, so I called and asked if she could help us out. No problem, just come on in and the room will be ready. It was. My wife describes it as almost like coming home. We enjoyed the stay! Service was excellent, the room was spotless, breakfast excellent, and housekeeping was great! We will definitely be back!

Construction across from me and above me. It seems a lot of hotel is under construction. Ask several time for it to stop and they didn't care and it never did. Went on until after 12:30 am and began again at 5:00 am

This hotel is located in a one-horse town. We stayed here as part of a wedding party. Our room smelled like mildew/mold so we left the windows open while we went to the wedding reception. It was very quiet (this whole town is very quiet). Parking was weird. It is one-way through PART of the parking lot but there are no signs warning you about this. Fortunately, as I stated before, it is very quiet and there is really not much traffic through here so you ought to be OK even with a rented c... Read more

Very pleasantly surprised how clean this hotel was and how large our rooms were. Complimentary breakfast was great: eggs, waffle maker, oatmeal, yogurt, baked goods, etc. Hotel was also very quiet. We were never woken by people in the halls or above us or by the cleaning staff in the halls.

In the process of updating the hotel with better furnishings. Overall it's what you've come to expect with Hampton, clean rooms, current stylings, a good hot breakfast in the morning. The Wifi is pretty terrible, and theirs a suspecious ATT Wifi in the building which I'm still not sure what its for, but its definitely better than the hotels. Could be a honeypot so be careful with what you do on your devices.

They are however, doing a great job with refurbishment and the rooms are quite contemporary and nice. Had a little trouble at check in with wrong information and some confusion about my pre-paid room at the desk. Hopefully I will not receive extra charges by mistake. This is a good spot to stay if you are going to Bandelier as they are on the road out to the Park.

This hotel was excellent! It was newly remodeled, but it looks like a brand new hotel.. The room was immaculate and the Gym was top notch. The food at the breakfast area had many choices and all were good. The beds were very comfortable (better than most hotels). We will stay there again for sure!!

Excellent stay-staff was very helpful and very friendly. Breakfast buffet was very good. Check in-check out quick and efficient. Wish there had been pool, though. I was even permitted to leave my car at the Inn while I went on the shuttle to Bandelier. That was very helpful, too.

Nice place, would stay there again. Staff was friendly. Room was nice. Due to the recent renovation though there was some new construction smell. It was easily handled by cracking our window open. On the second floor that wasn't a problem.

‚??The hotel was packed with visiting families for the high school graduation, but even with every room filled, we were given great service from check-in to departure during our two night stay. The first thing we saw when we entered our two-queen bed bedroom was a notice stating that the Duvet covers had been cleaned. That was appreciated information as we really like a clean room. The beds were comfortable and each had 4 pillows. The A/C was great. Unlike many hotels which skimp on full size ba... Read more

I booked my room through a third party site, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. We had a wedding to attend, so we needed to check in a few hours early, which we were able to do without a hitch. The room itself was spacious and quiet (despite construction just down the hall), and the bed was very comfortable. We used the wifi, which was acceptable. Hotels in Los Alamos were on pricey side, so we stayed in White Rock (10 miles away) Negatives: lack of a mid entry from parking area creates a little hassle and lobby "bottle neck". The scrambled eggs and sausage in buffet din't taste fresh. Bagged/ frozen! Fake meat. yuck! Fresh fruit was good!!

I made reservations for earlier this month at the Los Alamos, NM and Santa Fe, NM locations. When I arrived in the town of Los Alamos, I had trouble finding the hotel location and eventually discovered that the hotel is not even in Los Alamos, but in White Rock NM, approximately 10 miles away. Then when I arrived at the location and checked in, I went to my room, only to discover that they were doing major renovation on the adjacent room and the room across the hall and the workers were pound... I will start by saying the Hampton Inn was great. Nice room, nice breakfast, great staff. We have stayed at many Hamptons over the years and know we can count on a pleasant stay and friendly staff. This was no exception. My problem was finding out the Hampton Inn Los Alamos was 10 miles away in White Rock. There's only one hotel in White Rock and it's just fine. It's under renovation as I write this and the halls are dirty. I didn't have a problem with noise. The interior "door" is a hanging metal object that can be rolled side to side to block either the closet or the bathroom. My three year old son could not move it. At five months pregnant, I found it hard on my core to move it. If you have any physical limitations, ask for a standard swinging door. The staff were all very friendly and found me... Read more

July 2016: Maybe when this hotel is done being renovated it will be nice, but until then, it's a mess and certainly no place one would want to stay overnight. They needed to post on their website that they're under renovation, and the front desk staff did not say anything. My husband and I stayed here two nights in June and had a very good experience. The room was clean, quiet, and the breakfast was ample. The Los Alamos area does not have many places to eat, and the drive into town to eat is about 15 minutes. That is about the only downside to this facility. On the other hand, you are very close to the park entrance for Bandolier. Would stay here again if we were in the area,

Located in a terrific spot for accessing the shuttle to Bandelier National Monument, and just minutes away from the historic sites in Los Alamos, Hampton Inn is the hotel in town. Not much choice for a place to stay near Los Alamos, so wound up here. It's pretty standard for Hampton Inns but we were struck by the utter cheapness of all the finishes. Must have selected the least expensive option in all cases, but at least room and bathroom was pretty clean and everything worked. Breakfast was standard - Costco type breads and sweet roles, watery machine juices, dry cereal, gooey make-yourself waffles, a couple of dented apples and bananas and coffee/tea. The worst part ... My only caveat to booking here is to ask for a top floor room if you are a light sleeper. We loved our room and beds, but were awoken by a rather stompy person at midnight coming into their room. If you are a light sleeper, I highly recommend trying to get booked onto the third floor.

When we stayed this hotel was in the process of a much needed remodel. The elevator broke down twice. Staff was very good. Breakfast was "meh" like all free brekkies are these days. This is just the right sort of place you need on a road trip vacation. We wanted to visit Bandelier National Monument, and this is a perfect location, right across from the visitors center where you catch the shuttle. Nice room in location convenient to wilder areas of NM nearby. Bandelier was definitely worth the day. This hotel is by itself near the Bandelier National Monument shuttle pick up and a bit of a drive from the more commercial area of Los Alamos. We didn't mind but dining options are sparse. The Fig was very nice if you like french cafe/sandwich food. People are friendly and helpful.

The Hampton Inn has been and remains my preferred lodging location in the Los Alamos/White Rock area. The rooms are good sized, well-laid out, and are very comfortable. The breakfast is better than average for a Hampton Inn, with fresh pineapple, mango served daily, along with a minimum of 4 hot items served each day during our stay.
