We made our reservation 2 months b4 Balloon Fiesta 2015. Highly recommend booking way ahead of this event. We were given a room on the 1st floor so no view. The room was clean and the staff was accommodating. This location is prime; about 1 mi from balloon park but a bit scary (traffic) at 4:30am. Your average HI stay.

We checked in late one night without a reservation, a man named Pralay, at the front desk, greeted us with a friendly smile and was very helpful. He was more than willing to call us a shuttle to go to the casino a few miles away which we really appreciated. It was a nice room and very clean. Breakfast in the morning was a hotel breakfast, but still pretty good! We would definitely stay at this location again!

Room was clean and comfortable. The only problem is that the bathroom is very small: the door clears toilet by 1 inch. View in morning was very nice with hot air balloons taking off and flying of Rio Grande Valley.

We were here for a quick night but the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was the steady Eddy HI express selection, which works for my family and gives a lot of options. Parking was easy and hotel was accessible to i 25 for a quick getaway the next morning.

New Holday Inn Express with easy freeway access for traveling on I-25. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Very nice bathrooms. Very nice breakfast area and nice selections of breakfast foods, Plenty of dining space,, Very good staff, front desk was helpful, housekeeping staff was good also. Can be expensive on certain times when the Ballon Festival in Albuqerque. Parking area was not very secured.

My parents were traveling through the area. A medical episode extended the stay. Staff did everything possible to ensure that lodging was not something else to worry about. Thank you staff for making a challenging time easier for all. The fresh chocolate chips were a pleasant bonus.

I was there 3 nights on business, but brought my wife and two Granddaughters. The room appeared a bit crowded but comfortable, well lit, with a small but functional bathroom. The bathroom had good hot water and pressure. The internet was good, but the TV cable was broken at the wall so I personally took it down to the front desk to get a replacement. She happily obliged. I commented that the bathroom door would not lock. She wrote it down. The Maintenance Man stopped by and "fixed" it the next d... Read more

Overall I found this a bit below what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express, but I have good things to say also. We had a suite with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was not comfortable, but I've never seen one that was, so I didn't hold that against them too much. The room layout is very strange, long and narrow, which made it hard to get from the beds to the bathroom. You cannot see the lone television from the sofa, but only from the bed area, but yet it was really too small a room... Read more

Even though this hotel is on a busy street it is still peaceful at night. The check in process was quick, even though it was 2 am the attendant had a smile on his face and displayed a positive attitude! The room was nice and fresh, linens were clean, and we had enough towels. Our room had a minibar and a sofa bed. Downfall: The exhaust fan in the restroom was a little too noisy. And the restroom could use a new paint job. I weigh 120 pounds and the fiberglass bath tub was flexing and it seeme... Read more

This hotel is so nice! We had a slight emergency and needed to stay. This hotel went above and beyond in seeing to our comfort. We checked in and our room was awesome. You can tell right away that they think like a traveler, the air conditioning was on so the room was comfortable and very clean. They had cookies and cucumber water ready in the lobby. The coffee is great in the breakfast area and I am picky! I could go on!

The room was nice and clean. We had a problem with a HIE in Liberal, KS honoring a military discount (despite website claims) so we called ahead and made sure this one did and they do. My only real complaint was that the bathroom is very small, the door just clears the toilet when closing. The tub's fiberglass in our bathroom was also very creaky and disconcerting when showering. Though I'm sure you wouldn't fall through it sure sounded like it (and I only weigh 115 lbs)! Overall not a bad room ... Read more

The location was great and it was clean but that's about the only good thingsI can say. Unfortunately the young dragsters like to use the parking lot to show off their cars and race the engines. There is not a pool for kids and the breakfast is not worth the time. Very disappointed.

My son and I stayed at this hotel whilst travelling Route 66 and it was around the corner from the hot air balloon ride that we booked. The hotel was very clean, our room was great, very spacious with King bed and lounge area. The guest laundry was very handy. Breakfast had good options. Had a great sleep on the comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again. Pros: clean, free parking, spacious rooms, helpful staff, close to hot air balloon company, Sandia Peak tramway Cons: block out curtai... Read more

The photos on the website for this hotel are deceiving. The day I walked in to this hotel, they were having trouble with the phone system and the phone was ringing every 10 seconds. The room was not ready when I arrived. I did get to see the room but the hallway was dingy and the carpet dirty. I was there to deliver a training in the one training room. The training room was horrible. The furniture was old and beat up. It was covered up with table cloths. It was dirty also and a large ladder ... Read more

The desk clerk was friendly. Our room was clean, but could have used better lighting. The bathroom sink drained very slowly. The bathroom was extremely small. When you closed bathroom door it almost hit the front of the toilet. When you opened the door, it hit the tub before fully opening. Breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Express offerings. There was a hum from the overhead light fixture by the entry door. We corrected that by turning off the light. There was another hum/buzz coming from the ... Read more

My family of four stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Balloon Fiesta Park for one night for the Balloon Fiesta. We always stay at Holiday Inn Express' whenever we travel - it is always our preferred hotel. The breakfasts are edible, the pool is pretty standard for the kids, and the hotel itself is usually in good shape. BUT NOT THIS ONE. This Holiday Inn Express is in a sad state of affairs. It is completely run down and in very rough shape. Just from a building standpoint, it needs a com... Read more

We have stayed 3 nights recently in this hotel. The hotel took advantage of this event, by charging us $1135 for the all period. In addition, they are charging additional $5 for transportation to the site, which is outrages. The room was big, but the bathroom was very small & the water tub valve was leaking. There was a spot in the room carpet, and the AC unit was very noisy (this is a disadvantage found in many US hotels, that are using old AC technology). The breakfast was standard American br... This was an older Holiday Inn Express and quite expensive - I am sure that prices were escalated for the Balloon Festival - $345. - but we booked it because we could walk to the Balloon Festival - .7 of a mile. It was a pleasant surprise when we got there to find that they offer a shuttle for $10 per person round trip. It is a great feeling to walk out of the hotel at 5 in the morning and see that shuttle sitting there.! We were also able to call the hotel to have the shuttle pick us up, and ... Read more

My wife and I stayed here one night on a long cross country road trip. We regret the choice. It was our worst lodging experience of the trip. We enjoy Holiday Inn Expresses, but definitely not this one. The staff was indifferent and cavalier. It was hard to believe they were staff. Our room, as do most rooms on the west side, faced the blank wall of the industrial-type building next door. The room was cramped with poor lighting. The alleged queens turned out to be two doubles. We'd asked for a k... Read more

We drove from Phoenix to Albuquerque and we made reservations at this hotel months in advance, so we could be near the entrance to the Balloon Fiesta. The hotel is very old and run down and the price was jacked up because of the festival. I don't mind paying a higher rate for a hotel room due to a special event, but this was a dump. The carpet is worn out, dirty and the view from our room was the side of a metal building. Our son went to the workout room and every piece (4) of the equipment was ... Read more

Although this hotel looks quite new from the outside it is clear from the very narrow halls and bathrooms that you have just landed in a remodel. The room was fine - large enough. The bathroom was reminiscent of a European hotel..TINY! It was clean and the staff friendly.

This is an older property given a facelift...but still misses the mark. I WOULD ENCOURAGE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS MANAGEMENT TO VISIT THIS PROPERTY UNANNOUNCED. The hallways and rooms have minimal lighting...normal light bulbs have been replaced with low wattage CFL bulbs something I have only seen in former soviet Republics in Central Asia. Brighten up the rooms with LED bulbs for much more light at less cost than CFLs. The hallway carpets are dark and dirty and desperately need to be cleaned. ... Read more

Loved the convenient location to the Balloon Park, they have a shuttle but they charge $5.00 per guest each way (the hotel next to them Quality Inn?? offers free shuttle to their guests). The Holiday Inn Shuttle was not very reliable for the return pick up...we had to call 3x and wait 45 minutes. The room was clean, however the pool was closed due to "levels". the gym was small without much equipment. The Keurig in the room was great, as well as coffee and tea available all day. This is the second time in 4 weeks that I have been in this exact hotel. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable the first time I stayed here and they were again this time. I do have to give a special thank you to 2 of the young men that have waited on me during both stays, Michael Salas and Sahill Batta (not sure of the spelling).
