I would rate this hotel stay 3 1/2 if I could. It was a better than average stay, but not quite up to the Hampton standard I'm used too. This hotel struck me as being an older Hampton and kudos to the staff for keeping it clean and welcoming. Everyone was friendly, greeted us as they saw us, and the breakfast staff made sure everything was stocked, which we appreciate while on a long road trip. The room was fine, although it may be a bit tight for a wheelchair-bound person. While handicap... Read more

We only stayed one night whilst visiting nearby White Sands National Monument and were quite happy with our stay. Got a decent advance room rate which was good value, staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful and kept well stocked. Location is easy to find just off the main highway on the southern edge of Alamogordo, couple of dinner options within walking distance. Overall a good base for visiting the area

We stayed one night at Hampton Inn Alamogordo after our visit to Carlsbad Caverns. The check-in was good, but I had asked for a top floor room and they gave us a room on the 2nd floor. The room was good size with king bed, desk, chair, fridge, microwave, flat screen TV. One problem was with the bathroom, the sink counter is good size but extends out in the middle so you have to lean over the sink, There were spots on the wall next to the toilet that should have been cleaned or covered. Our room and pool area were really dated (cracks, chunks of tile and grout missing, etc). I have stayed in dozens of different Hampton Inns across the country and this is the most dilapidated I have seen and I think the only one I have left lower than 4 stars at. I know they are only competing in a small town market but this reflects poorly on their brand and I actually will try the Holiday Inn Express next time I am in town. The only saving grace is that the staff was extremely friendly and h... Read more

all the staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast is probably the best we have experienced. The rooms are clean and inviting. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will use Hampton whenever we locate one. Hard to beat the value.

I appreciated having a good hotel to come to in a place where good hotels are at a premium. Alamogordo doesn't have a huge number of hotels and we had family staying at other hotels where pools weren't open and breakfast wasn't part of their stay. It really made us appreciate the pool, hot tub, small gym, and daily breakfast we got.

This was a last minute hotel rental. This location was very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best complementary breakfasts that I have ever had! This Hampton was the same great quality you would expect from any Hampton in any city.

This hotel delivered everything we've come to expect from a Hampton Inn. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The rooms and beds were comfortable and nice, and the breakfast was delicious. There's an Italian place, Johnny Carino's, a few steps away, so we didn't have to drive anywhere for dinner.

The rooms are nicely furnished with up to date decorations and very clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. Quiet rooms, I never heard my neighbors. In walking distance to several restaurants. Breakfast was very good: many options to choose from (eggs, bacon, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, pastries). Pretty good coffee too. Very nice place to stay. Very good customer service. Would highly recommend.

I hadn't stayed here for awhile, and in the time that I've been away, they've built a shiny new Fairfield Inn, and there's a nice Holiday INN right down the street too, both of which are nicer just by virtue of their relative newness. That being said, there's nothing wrong with the Hampton here, it'll get you by - and it's the only one of the bunch that offers Hilton Honors points, so they still have my loyalty for now.

It was a straight shot drive to White Sands. It couldn't be easier. The service was great, the bed comfortable, the bathroom clean. The breakfast was better than average. They also lend you sleds for the park which is a nice touch. At the park you can buy sleds which the park will buy back from you as you leave.

The hotel seems a bit worn and the breakfast selection seemed a bit more limited than other Hampton Inns but it serves its purpose. There are restaurants within walking distance. The gentleman at the front desk is very friendly, waving every time we entered or exited the building. Just a tip-- the floors seem to be very thing and every last step could be heard from the floor above. Opt for a third floor room.

No surprises here. The place was immaculate and the front desk help was very friendly., We arrived a half hour before check-in and the manager at the front desk let us check in a little early after verifying that housekeeping had our room finished. The room was also very clean. The breakfast staff was attentive and the food was good, White Sands is 13 miles away. This is a 16 year old hotel that has been well maintained, shows little sign of wear and tear in the rooms and is kept clean. The desk informed me that a complete remodeling of the bathrooms is scheduled in 2017. The breakfast area is small but well organized and I did not see that at anytime it was full or had clients waiting for a seat/table. There are at least 3 restaurants within a 3 minute walk and is well located to White Sands National Park. We would stay here again.

The man at check in on the afternoon 7/18/2016 was VERY helpful to my business colleague. I wish I had remembered his name!! My colleague had made reservations at another hotel and thought she had made them at this Hampton. He quickly made an accommodation and told her he could have a room for her at the rate if she was able to cancel her other reservation, which she did. Thank you!!

Nice location on the western edge of Alamogordo. This is an older Hampton Inn but it does have some updates. My two highlights were the friendly staff and the ability to use the Planet Fitness gym next door. Breakfast, pool and small fitness center were all the typical Hampton amenities. My only complaint was the spotty wi-fi that kept making you log back in (twice while typing this review). Restaurants within walking distance or plenty more including shopping within 5 minutes. Mickey and her male colleague (so sorry i forgot his name! :( ) gave us a very warm welcome in the hotel. The whole place is very well kept and clean. Breakfast more than average, the only regrettable thing was the lady in charge of the buffet was sighing all the time. Seemed to us that she didn't liked the customers or her work at all.

I'd rate this Hampton as a 2.5. This is an old Hampton! It looks like they've tried to remodel. The bathroom had grout missing from the floor tile, something fuzzy looking along the corners of the ceiling, spots on the walls, and the toilets bowl looked quite worn out from cleaning (very old). The bedroom was not too bad, but you could see nail holes in the walls and the drywall seams as well as paint roller marks on the ceiling (just a poor paint job). This is our second time with this hotel. We have stayed at the Holiday inn , (see review). This is a clean updated hotel ,rooms are comfortable but our room had a few minor annoyance. There does not appear to be an exhaust fan in the bathroom. Our room ac/heat unit could get very noisy. The complementary breakfast was unremarkable.
