Me and my family just returned from a Mother's Day weekend stay at the StarLux hotel in Wildwood, New Jersey. I am writing to tell all interested parties that this place is probably one of the nicest hotels in Wildwood, with friendly and courteous staff, and super amenities unmatched in the area. The rooms are clean and the linens fresh, the pool and hot-tub were open in early May, and the free usage of their many bicycles was very much appreciated by me and my daughters. The Continental breakfa... Read more

We stayed at the StarLux in one of their two Airstream Rv's. These are situated across the street from the hotel with their gravel parking lot. Checking in to the hotel it was a little difficult to find the office as it is not quite next to the parking. However, office front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful, pointing out the free continental breakfast, pool, game room and free bicycle rental. The hotel has a lovely pool and hot tub which was open in May. They even have a disabled poo... Read more

Beautiful quaint wonderful hotel. The hosting from the start to the finish was excellent. So helpful. Slept in the trailer the only objection was i needed a little more coverage in the windows. in the trailer. The experience a nothing but a joy. I re-booked to stay again with my daughters for memorial day weekend.

We enjoy taking several short affordable trips during off season times when it is less crowded and when our children can engage in various activities on premise or off if the weather is not that great. Starlux- was just the right spot- it has a unique fun retro feel, with amenities such as a heated pool and hot tub, a nice lounge next to the pool to read or hang around while the kids play in the pool, adults too can enjoy the nice pool and hot tub; complementary bikes :) :) to ride on the board... I've been coming to Wildwood for 20+ years. This is far and away the nicest hotel for its price in the area. The beds and bedding are insanely comfortable, the staff is beyond friendly, and the little extras they give set it apart from the rest.

I booked a last minute trip with my sons and this hotel was fantastic! The key to that was their customer service. We got in at 9:00pm from a 4+ hour drive and were greeted by Theresa who treated us like long lost friends, followed by Bob the next morning who did the same. This set the tone for the rest of our trip. Their location couldn't be better, close to the boardwalk but not too close. My sons loved the pool and the free use of their bikes. I highly recommend The Starlux and can't wait to ... Read more

Loved this hotel from the pictures we saw online. If you book a single queen bed like we did they most likely will put you in the house next door at the property they own. There was 6 rooms there I think. We were on the upstairs floor. These room sadly weren't themed like the rest of the hotel. My husband and I loved the retro feel from the pictures but the room we had was nice; it has a 50s bungalow feel. There was a small furnace in the room for heat which seemed to take forever to warm the r... Read more

The hotel definitely lives up to its guests' reviews. We spent two nights at Starlux, one in the airstream trailer and one in the proper hotel. The entire staff was amazing and Gordon - who I believe is the manager - personally texted me to let me know he had an additional room available for our second night. Rooms are clean, pool was awesome and safe for our three year old, bikes were free to rent, super close to boardwalk, parking simple, check in simple, and they have Neutrogena products in... I love this hotel!! This is the only place I will stay from now on whenever I visit Wildwood. The famous Wildwood sign is only a block away. The famous broadwalk is only two blocks away. The hotel staff are extremely friendly, one of the friendliest employees you will come across. I have been coming to Wildwood for over 18 years. The hotels I have stayed at have been hit or miss as far as cleanness, safety, and location. The Starlux hotel hits all those points and more!

Two friends and I came for the low prices in the days before the boardwalk opened, and we could not have had a better experience! The hotel is adorably retro, decked out with lava lamps, complementary cruiser bicycles, and a manager (Bob) who put doowop on the radio and did the "Twist" with us! The staff is friendly, helpful, and flexible - we checked into our room 3 hours early because they cleaned it for us as soon as we arrived. We munched on complementary muffins and orange juice, borrowed c... Read more

The hotel was great! Our suite had two separate bedrooms with three beds in total, very accommodating. They had a great retro-style look to the hotel with signature lava lamps. The only hotel in Wildwood with free breakfast, beach chairs, and boogie boards to take to the beach for the day. Staff was very nice such as Bob and Brenden. They have their own mini golf course while the hotel being just a quick 5 minute walk to the boardwalk and beach! Starlux was a very nice hotel. Plus, we even had a... Read more

We stayed at The Star Lux Hotel for The Race of Gentlemen last weekend. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning services was EXCELLENT. Friendly and efficient. Great pillows, too! Thanks Gordon. Definitely will stay here again and recommend this place to anyone else who may be traveling to Wildwood.

Booked this hotel last minute. Arrived at 1 am and was greeted at the desk by a very friendly woman. Got into the room with my two boys and found it to be small but very clean. The boys loved the lava lamp! Decor is really cool. Pool was nice (deepest spot is 4 feet)...hot tub was great too. Breakfast was decent. Morning front desk gentleman was a doll as well. Smiles all around this place! Sits right at the end of the boardwalk. Comfy beds too!

I can only speak to my stay in one of the two airstream trailers that are permanently parked on the property - but what a uniquely wonderful experience. The whole design of the Starlux is very retro yet fresh and if you enjoy the look and feel of the era of mod, then you are really in for a treat. On top of that, I was very impressed with the front desk person when I checked in. She was so welcoming and made me feel like I was in for a great time. The Airstream trailer itself, I won't kid you,... Read more

I booked the room in the morning the day of my stay. the staff called to get an ETA around 7pm, And, I guessed I would be there between 10pm and 11pm. When I showed up at 11:15, the staff was very friendly, and considered me 'on time'. Oh, the bulk of their parking is a gravel lot, and I was on a motorcycle, which is much more challenging on gravel. They worked with me to get me parking on a smooth asphalt surface. The hotel has been renovated sometime recently, and I would call the style ... Read more

This place is officially my family's "go to" hotel for Wildwood. It had everything we needed for a great family weekend. I have two boys, 2 and 6, and the pool was perfect for them. The rooms were clean and had a lot of places for storage. I was in love with the whole retro theme of the hotel. What really stood out was the hotel's employees. Everyone was extremely accommodating and very friendly. Anything we asked for we were helped with and promptly.

We booked a room for our "minimoon". We are locals, and our plans had to be changed for our honeymoon. We booked a room last minute and it was very nice. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, room was very clean and well supplied with towels and Neutrogena shampoos, lotion, etc. The maid had fashioned 2 geese out of towels with heads touching to form a heart shape because she had been told we were newlyweds. The staff during the day was awesome, but Terri who works the overnight shift was... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated all of the amenities of beach chairs and bikes. The pool area was clean and nice. We loved how quiet it was and a great price early in the season (early June) and plan to come back around the same time next year, or at the end of the summer this year when it gets quiet again. Thank you!

Spent 4 nights last week of June in a 4th floor unit with separate bedroom, living area and kitchenette. Apartment size fridge/freezer was great, could store lots of drinks and leftovers from restaurants. One-cup coffeemaker in room, but coffee is always available in the ground level breakfast room. Unit was clean, smelled great (like cucumber-melon?), and A/C worked well. Pool area has about 15 lounge chairs and a few tables with chairs. Pool itself was nice, and hot tub was large and cl... We picked this hotel as it was ideally located between two cities on our road trip. We unfortunately did not take advantage of the area amenities as we were there just 12 hours however did find the room (we stayed in the 1 bedroom mini suite) very nice. The owners have taken great care to appoint this property with interesting retro features including mini kitchen with microwave in our room. The area is a "happening" place so if quiet is your thing, you might want to look elsewhere. Happil... Read more

My husband and I made our first visit to Wildwood to watch our son's band perform. I was not sure what to expect, but we were completely charmed both by Wildwood and the StarLux. What a fabulous motel! All the modern conveniences a traveler could want -- wifi, Neutrogena bath products, like new rooms -- with all the character of a mid-century modern motel. We were in the small standard room with two queen beds. It was fresh and clean -- and remarkably quiet when the door was closed. It was... Read more

The StarLux is a wonderful boutique hotel with great amenities--complimentary breakfast, beach chairs, boogie boards, WiFi and bicycles. The location is perfect, right next to the Wildwoods sign, a miniature golf course, a bagel sandwich shop and an ice cream shop. The rooms are decorated in mid-century modern (circa the 1950s). So charming. The staff were very friendly and made every effort to ensure that our visit was a great one. Kudos to all of them! Each morning, we signed out bicyc... Read more

The Hotel looks clean and well kept inside and out. We had a one bedroom that seemed small as soon as I opened the door. The bed was not as good as the reviews said. The sofa bed was horrible for my 15 & 24 year old to sleep on. Balcony was nice but I wish I had a stand to set my coffee on when sitting out. Water drips from above AC onto balcony. We had booked this hotel for 3 days at the end of July. Unfortunately, my son-in-law then got word that he had to travel for work during that time, and we had both made reservations. We had to cancel and knew the penalty was 25% of 1st night reserved. However, when I saw what amount the penalty was for cancelling, I felt this was very unfair. The hotel seems to be booked constantly. I don't see how they can justify this large of a penalty. It would be different if it was not a popular hot... Read more

Located so close to both the ocean and the boardwalk. The Starlux mini golf was a big hit as well. I highly recommend it.

I stayed here once because I messed up my stay at the Blue Palms and they moved us here with space on the backend of our trip. I liked it. the room was nice. There was an ELEVATOR to haul your gear upstairs! A small game room and a pool was nice. They've added a mini golf course that I liked as well. It is a bit far for my choice but I like to be in the hustle and bustle. That being said, it is right off Rio Grande where the Wildwood Signs are. Its still not far at all.
