When we were out of our house and needed a suite that would accomodate myself, my wife, my step-daughter and our dog, the La Quinta was one of the few choices available to us. They were a terrific, clean, quiet place to stay.

Booked one night for a surprise getaway for my wife's birthday. It was up to her what she wanted to do but she was happy staying at this LQ the whole time. Called each morning to extend, no problem at all. Didn't even have to change rooms. Quick drive to the shore, the train station and PLENTY of restaurants in the local area. We'll be coming back for sure.

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend, with I'm sure inflated rates of $244 a night for two nights. This hotel was so dirty we cut our trip short. Greeted by someone who seemed less than interested to welcome anyone and pretty much used the same line on everyone that walked in, you have the best room in the hotel. Hotel was smelly, with torn fabric in chair, rusted lamp post. It is 2016 not an extra outlet in the lamp or by the night stand to charge your phone. A clearly never updated bathroom or ... Read more

This location is much below the quality I have experienced at other LA Quinta Inns. The check in process involved extraneous disclosure forms that had to be signed. Not the chain motel norm. The inside of the motel had an odor. The furniture was old and chipped. The "Business Center" was a computer and printer on a shelf in the lobby. I could not connect to the internet via 2 different browsers and the desk clerk could not help me connect to print a boarding pass. Only when the day clerk came ... Read more

You really can't ask for much more...maybe some warmth from management. Most definitely the Best deal in the "north" Shore of Jersey.

We stayed for 2 nights my son, husband and myself on June 17 & June 18 for a Baseball Showcase at near by Monmouth University. This La Quinta is far below the quality of any other La Quinta I have stayed in. Upon entering the facility there was a strong moldish odor. Too much paperwork to sign in order to stay, ridiculous! They were sold out of queen doubles so we had to stay in a King w/sleeper couch. The room was in desperate need of update. The was a mini fridge and microwave, convent for kee... Read more

Chosen because of it's close location to Monmouth Park racetrack. The staff was outstanding, and the free breakfast offered good variety, was clean and the tables and chairs comfortable. The rooms were adequate and clean. The bathroom, while very small, was also clean. The beds were very comfortable, including the pillows which so often are either too flat or too fluffy - these were just right (baby bear would be happy! Free parking, good security. I have stayed at this location many times, and in the event of a problem, it was resolved immediately. The hotel is fair priced although high on Saturdays during the summer. We enjoyed the friendly staff...which is rare these days. I felt like they appreciated my business. Hotel and room was nice and clean. No problems and have paid twice as much for similar rooms...so great value. Situated just up road (5 minutes by car) from beach so the family loved location...plus near to shopping and food everywhere. I don't usually sleep well in hotels...but had a great nights sleep...very comfy beds.

Never going back, front desk service is horrible as well. OK! I was going to give them a "Negative Review" BUT, I changed my mind! You may ask why! Well; it all boiled down to the people there! Possibly a family that runs the hotel; I believe! Sure, it's old and the age leaves a lot to be desired. The elevator goes to the second floor but you need two luggage carts to get to the rooms. There are seven steps outside the meeting rooms that drop you down to the hallway. Odd but that's the way the hotel was remodeled years ago. The bathroom in 224 was quit... Read more

Dog policy varies hotel to hotel. We do not travel with dog; but it never stopped us from staying at a dog friendly hotel. We advise this hotel to review "contracts between mgt and dog owners. There should be a fine imposed if dog owners don't follow rules. Maids should not have to enter rooms unless dog is in crate!! Dogs would be on short leash withing hote; there should be a limit on dog size. Also, when checking in, dog needs to be crated unless small enouh to be held in arms. After checki... Read more

The entire building is non-smoking, but it must be said that the building obviously used to allow smoking. The smell is faint but still detectable. I have stayed at this La Quinta a few years ago and it was wonderful. I stayed this weekend with family and was very disappointed in the hotel. My room was less than clean, the bathroom had torn wall paper, tub was not called, sink had hairs in it my blanket had a hole in it and to top it off my daughter woke up with bites on her arms and torso. For the amount of money that we paid for our room it was not worth it in the least. I more than likely will not be staying there again.
