Customer service is nice and helpful. Distance from newyork city is aprox 19 minutes in bus you got an stop bus in front of the hotel which is nice. Also you have a Walmart a couple blocks away (walking) so you can buy anything except alcohol

I stayed here on a business trip with a large group. The grounds are clean with a large parking lot. Plenty of stores and restaurants are within walking distance. The room was clean with comfortable beds, fridge, and microwave. There is a small fitness center with no pool. For the price this is a nice hotel to stay that is close to the the tunnel to NYC. I would stay here again.

Arrived after 10:30 pm to find the entrance blocked by 4 buses... Bad sign. Upon entering teenagers are everywhere. Check in was a breeze however as the bus group had pre-checked in. Samantha at the front desk was great. Room was just okay. Beds were very comfy. But every single water source in bathroom leaked horribly (sink, tub/shower, toilet). Constant trickle. Room had a small fridge and microwave. Furniture was worn out. Room was pretty dark even with lights on. Bus k... Read more

It was very difficult to find the hotel, the sign outside is very small. Also if you put its address on a GPS it will take you to the wrong place, about 0.7 miles out. However front desk was helpful in navigating us to the hotel. Just in case you struggle to find the hotel it is opposite the Courtyard Marriott, actually just book the Marriott and forget about this hotel. Note to the owners: please invest in a bigger sign by the main road!

This used to be owned by a large hotel chain and the new ownership has kept everything from the operations to the furniture and linens and breakfast exactly the same. Thus, the wear and tear of the previous hotel has carried over to the point where it is noticeable but not really bad enough to object to. The towels and bedding are acceptable, but beginning to show their age and heavy use, and the breakfast is the same collection of sugary and grain-based items and cereals with a couple of warm i... Give me a break....#2 in Secaucus?! Hardly. This once Hampton Inn is in a slow free fall. It's no wonder they lost their flag. The Meadowlands River Inn is not worth close to what they are charging. It's more like a $80 a motel and that's only because of its proximity to NYC. The rooms are old and tired and are in desperate need of some upgrading. Keep clicking folks. Much better choices in the same neighborhood.

This was the first time I stayed in NJ. The cab ride approximately $50 US from Newark airport. I met a school group there. Lots of big groups stay there so be ready. I was with a group so I had to stay there. Close to Lincoln bridge. Breakfast -high sugar content; cereal waffles; canned fruit. Restaurants across the street - franchised; Rooms dingy; bed springs broken; curtains hanging off; hallways really stuffy no air. Some of the rooms actual metal frames sticking out. Bath tubs scratche... Read more

This hotel location is idea if traveling to New York City!! Just across street is bus stop and the bus is clean and comfortable! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was so helpful. Front desk was nice and treated you with kindness. Many restaurants within walking distance. I would suggest this hotel to anyone due to the low room rates, as compared to others in area. Although no pool, I didn't care. I was there to explore New York City!!

As has been mentioned, the building has seen better days. For the price, the location cannot be beat, and everything works, even if it is not the prettiest place. The free breakfast was very nice; the area clean and well stocked each day. Waffles, yogurt, cereal, eggs. What makes the hotel 4 of 5 is the service. The people are very friendly, but more importantly, they want you to be happy. I was not pleased with the first room I was given. It was not well lit, and I did not think it looked cl... Read more

Decent priced hotel one block from bus station to NYC. Rooms are clean, service is good. Breakfast is average, not enough dining area. No frills but certainly covers basic needs! I look forward to another stay!

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased. We actually arrived in the morning as we wanted to head straight to the city. The desk clerk was so nice and said even though we were early she would check to see if there were any rooms available. About 5 minutes later we were all checked in. The breakfast was great, real scrambled eggs, sausage or ham, the standard make your own waffles and assortment of breads. One of the best things about the hotel was it's proximity to the NJ transit b... Read more

We feel this is the best to stay when we want to visit NYC and not pay a fortune. The ride into the Port Authority is about a 10 minute drive and the bus stop is right across the street from the hotel. They have a free breakfast buffet which serves a variety of foods. The view from the top floor in the odd numbered room is the better as it faces NYC but try to get a room at the end of the hall with the highest number because from there you can see the Freedom Tower, Empire State Building and the... The hotel has seen better days but the staff here are excellent. Very accomodating and helpful. The hotel location is great also because of the bus stops that goes right into Ports Authority in NYC. You'll be in NYC in less than 20 minutes (without traffic). A very great deal for tourist like us. The breakfast is just so-so so don't expect a lot. The room are spacious and the showers/toilet area as well but again it has seen better days. Ample parking space and there's a lot of restaurants outs... Read more

Stayed here for 1 night while visiting NYC with a large group. The hotel had all the keys ready with each persons name on the envelope which made for a quick check-in. Good sized, clean rooms and I appreciated the protein at breakfast with hot eggs. Everything else about breakfast is pretty standard with the waffle maker and cereals. As far as location, it's easy access to NYC, but we did spend about 45 minutes getting to the UN from the hotel in the morning. Definitely would stay here with a g... Read more

Perfect budget friendly hotel that's just a 20 minute bus ride away from Times Square. The bus stop is just a 5 min walk in front of the hotel and takes you to the Port Authority which is just minutes away from Times Square. Bus tickets are $4.50/adult one way. Free parking, free hot breakfast, and nice sized clean rooms made this a perfect choice while visiting NYC. Staff were very friendly which made this an added bonus. Next time we visit NYC we will definitely be staying here again!

I stayed here because this was my first visit to Manhattan ever, and I evaluated how close it was from the Newark Airport, and how convenient it was to get to Manhattan in and out. First of all the hotel its in a very convenient area, with a mall, a Walmart, a few restaurants surrounding, and most important for me, a bus stop 3 mins walking distance from the hotel lobby. As a guest at the Meadowlands River Inn. I can not say enough about the personnel at this fine hotel? The Staff starting with Elsa head of sales Lorena at the front desk and through Paul in maintance including the entire housekeeping staff are fantastic !! I did not want for anything at anytime. The room is very clean and well taken care of. I would hope Trip Advisor will use these fine people aggressively in the future. Thank you Larry Chandler

If you're planning to visit NYC, the location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is directly across the street from the bus stop (do yourself a favor and purchase a round trip ticket). The only thing better than the location, was the service. Hotel staff bent over backwards to make sure that my husband and I were able to stay an extra night even though the hotel was booked. The rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was good, and the price was great.

We, a family of four, stayed a week at the Meadowlands River Inn as we couldn't get an affordable hotel in NYC. The bus takes you to Times Squre in 20 minutes, UBER as well is an alternative especially at night. Very safe surroundings. Wal Mart in walking distance. The rooms have a good size but the hotel is not very clean. You wouldn't like to walk barefeet on the carpet. Stayed here three times over several years and more recently in September 2016. It is quite clear that the hotel is not investing in the decor of the rooms which is sad to see. The location is excellent and travel into NYC is very easy. Parking and wifi is free and works well. I will stay in this area again but at a different hotel.

We spent two nights while visiting New York. The location was excellent as the bus stops across the road and takes you directly to the terminal at Times Square where you can also catch the subway. Make sure to ask the front desk about the best stop for your return trip. There was lots of parking and a good breakfast. The breakfast room was fairly small as there were tour groups in the hotel. Lots of restaurants, shopping and even an AAA office nearby.

We loved our stay at the Meadowlands River Inn! It's just a 30 min bus ride into NYC and the us stop is literally right across the street! The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was great, nice selections. Coffee/tea bar was nice any time of the day, too! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars: the bathroom was older and could use a little renovation. We stayed on the 5th floor and had very little water pressure in the shower. Everything else was PERFECT! ... Read more
