Located on US 1 and surrounded by corporate parks and offices, this hotel is perfect for the business traveler. Not far from the town, university and Newark Intl Airport this facility includes a nice restaurant and bar, which is a plus because dining options are not walkable from the hotel. Breakfast is included if reservations are made through Holiday Inn plans, but not for reservations through third-party websites. In spite of a few criticisms; I would highly recommend this property. The hotel has been totally renovated each and every room. It is very nice but for some errors in the bathrooms and some furniture in the room. First in the bathroom, I would fault the placement of the grab bar. Not installed in a very good location for entering or leaving the bathtub. The tub is too narrow at the base with minimal flat surface. There is no soap shelf on the bath/shower wall. Everything must be placed on the ... Read more

I always stay here when in the area. It is very close to many things. It is a nice hotel that has probably seen better days but the staff is very friendly. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning but I only had cereal but a great way to start the day. Only problem was a bug in the room but I scared him off.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn just a few years ago. When checking in and asking about a mini-fridge (to chill insulin), the charming front desk clerk said the hotel had been renovated and now all rooms had mini-fridges. This is a handsome property in a wooded business park just off Rt. 1. My 2nd floor room, though facing busy Rt. 1, was very quiet thanks to a green buffer zone and good insulation/sound-proofing. There were handsome black-and-white framed photographs of Nassau Hall and the Woo... Read more

Located on the Independence Way loop road; just off the Route 1 North , this Holiday Inn' s surrounding is amazing. The view of the forest/ green cover from our room ( 341) was beautiful. Close to the hotel is a water fountain with a nice walkway around the water pool, great place to relax. We didn't opt for the breakfast package of the hotel, there are plenty of options in about 2-3 mile radius from the hotel. The gym facility was adequate and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, room and... Read more

I made reservations to stay at this hotel 3 months ago, I was going to be in the area attending a national rowing event . I knew there would considerable downtime in the course of this event so I chose the Holiday Inn because they had an outdoor pool. Imagine my disappointment when I found out the pool was not available. I expressed my disappointment to the front desk and was told " the Inspector didn't come back". I explained my sole reason for choosing this establishment was because it listed... Read more

I stayed here in late April on a sports team trip. Upon entering, I was impressed with the look of the lobby and how easy it was to connect to the Wi-Fi, unlike other places. The room was pretty clean for the most part. However, there were several dark smudges on the wall and floor of the bath shower. I would understand this if they were permanent due to the actions of another guest, however they could easily be rubbed off so this was probably just missed by housekeeping. Also, the drawer betwee... Read more

Stopped here on a road trip from south to north for a one night stay. Very clean property, very clean room, very nice staff. My only minor complaint was that the room was only 60 degrees when I walked in. That's way to cold for me.

A clean and comfortable place. Breakfast is OK, staff are friendly and helpful. When you have a room at the back of the hotel, it is really very quiet. Route 1 passes at the other side, but at a fair distance. A good spot if you want to, or have to visit Princeton.

Princeton is an upscale market with the University and this hotel complements the market well. As a Holiday Inn, it is an upper mid-scale property and its location to everything in the area is excellent. We were here conducting a week long certification program and the staff at this property is very accommodating in all areas. From meetings to the restaurant to the desk to maintenance, everyone shows that they care about their guest and their hotel. When one is at a hotel for 6 days, the re... Read more

Quick two night stay here, visiting friends and exploring NJ a little. The hotel worked perfectly for our purposes. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast has a reasonable and tasty selection one day but not so good the second day, strangely. Outside pool was freezing - but the kids loved it anyway ! They have a small outside seating area near the bar, which is nice. My only slight irk was the bartender was a bit grumpy when we asked for iced water - he was more interested in chatting up a... The reception area is very nice and modern, the stuff was friendly. Unfortunately the hallway, where my room was located (ground floor), seemed not being vacuumed in a while. I am not sure, if there was some kind of construction going on. The room itself was ok. Bathroom and bed sheets were clean. The floor could have needed a bit extra care. Unfortunately almost none of the TV channels had a good signal. If you have a light sleep you should bring ear plugs as you can easily hear what is going ... Read more

Room is standard holiday inn. We had to wait 24h to get hot water. The staff told us it will be fixed 3 times. But we had to wait a looong time before we could shower. The breakfast is just OK, but don't go eat when everyone gets breakfast: you will only have the rests and will be waiting forever to get bacon/orange juice/fruit/... Fitness center? Lol... if you like running indoor it's ok.

Comfortable, clean room at a reasonable price. We brought our small dog and the location is pet friendly. I would have rated this a five if the pet rate had been less ($50 first night then $10 each night thereafter). Front office staff friendly, efficient, helpful. Compared to other hotels in the area rate was better. A better breakfast rate for lodgers would also improve rating. I will stay here again.

This is a nice little hotel in Princeton. The location is just off the main road in Princeton, but it is quiet enough. Note that there is really nothing much in the vicinity and you will need a transport to move around. There is a small restaurant which has the same breakfast buffet every morning. This is a no smoking hotel and they dont sell cigarettes. There is a small 24hours gym and small pool. The rooms are clean but not very sound proof. You can hear the conversation next door.

I don't usual complain a lot about hotels, because people can make mistakes and things can go wrong. But if a lot of things go wrong in one trip, it suggests that things will go wrong for other people too. So you should know. Firstly, we were supposed to get two doubles and ended up with a king and a sofa. They didn't have any rooms available with two doubles so we couldn't switch. Maybe it was a mistake, or maybe they overbooked the doubles? Secondly, as another guest noted, there was no h... Read more

My wife and I spent a night here while visiting Princeton. The hotel is clean and updated. We loved the way it was furnished. Located in a business park, the hotel was very quiet. Our room was nice. The breakfast was okay and typical for a budget hotel. Located about 17 minutes from the campus, it can be a little tricky getting out of the parking lot and onto the highway during rush hour. Overall thought, this is one of the better budget hotels we have stayed in.

Visited with my wife during a mid west/mid Atlantic road trip. Very nice, clean and welcoming hotel. Our room was spacious and the queen bed comfortable. Two minus points were that there was still stuff in the fridge left by the previous occupant, and more annoyingly the bathroom door would not shut. Whilst we have been married long enough for this not to matter, the door overlapped the jam by about half a centimeter meaning that not only is it impossible to close even with the help of a sledge ... This hotel is a few miles from the old town of Princeton. The grounds of the hotel were well looked after, but by American standards the hotel room was small. Thankfully the WiFi speed was good, and a tour of the old town of Princeton itself more than made up for the relative smallness of the hotel room. The breakfast was adequate and the accommodation throughout was generally clean.

I stayed here recently for one night, but I'd originally booked for three nights total. The hotel itself is well-kept, neat, and pleasant. There were several big tour groups staying there and besides some meandering in the hallways, you didn't really notice how full the place was. It was mostly quiet. The lobby is very clean and attractive. I didn't have the chance to try the bar or restaurant, but they also seemed fairly nice. Let me just say I'll never stay here again nor will I recommend the hotel to anyone. It started by being denied a room to check in at 530 am after I just drove 15 hours from Rockland Maine. The night manager, Edward, said I would have to pay additional fees to checkin. I told him he didn't understand. That I was checking in to sleep till until noon or 1 that same day and then leaving to continue on my trip. This took 30 minutes to sort this out. He then overcharged me, didn't recognize me as... We stayed here for almost a week, and we were very pleased with the hotel, though we were not pleased with their restaurant. The room was very nice, larger than most we have stayed in. It was very clean and well lit. There was an unusually large refrigerator in the room along with a microwave. Housekeeping kept the room clean, but skimped on supplies. The staff and overall accommodation at this Holiday Inn is above average. It is conveniently located right off Rt.1 but is set back enough that it offers a feeling of privacy. The only service which has deteriorated is their breakfast, which used to be better staffed and serviced but still offers good quality.

The hotel was nice and clean. Front desk staff at check in were great. HOWEVER, the front desk gal (African American gal) that came later was VERY rude and showed ZERO customer service. The evening bar lady needed help. She did NOT do a great job handling the busy bar and therefore had ZERO customer service. The maintenance staff was also very busy. Bottom line, more help is needed for this hotel to deliver the level of customer service that would improve the ranking.

I was here only 1 night. As an IHG platinum guest I did not receive anything different from a Priceline guest. The bed is not comfortable. The shower drain is rusted and the tub needed to be replaced.
