Arriving at 2.30 am from a delayed west coast flight and leaving at 8 am probably didn't give this hotel all that much of a test. But it served the purpose of a stopover on a long journey - clean, comfortable and reasonable price so we didn't need anything more! The exceptional aspect of Newark airport is that all hotel shuttles (other than the on-airport Marriott) pick-up and drop-off at the train station P4. None picks up at the airport. P4 commutes with the terminals by the driverless and fr... Read more

This is a good location right across from Newark airport. They have free parking and an airport shuttle that runs 24 hours a day. The hotel is old but the rooms have been recently updated and are very nice and modern. Breakfast is not included but they do have a full service restaurant and bar. This is not a high end hotel but does offer very good value for the money. I would stay here again for a night before catching a flight.

I had come on a very long international journey, and this was fine. It is not in the airport, but close, and there is a short shuttle trip from one of the stops on the airport's transit system. It was pleasant, quiet, and all that it lacked was a refrigerator in my room. It is somewhere that I'd be happy to re-visit if I was flying into the NY area.

Stayed here for a night when connecting to Honolulu. Honestly didn't expect much since i just booked it sort of cheap through priceline. Room was nice, bar had good drinks and finger food, and staff was friendly. The shuttle buss was punctual, so even got time to spend the evening in Manhattan. Will visit again if i have a nights layover at Newark.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Transportation: Shuttle transport to Airport is convenient. Most of the time, shuttle arrived with in 10 mins of request. Bistro: Food and service overall is good. Vegetarian bowl (from wok) was way too spicy (I am an Asian who eats spicy food !). Otherwise, I would have given 5stars Room: Clean and spacious. Quiet. This hotel was surprisingly good for a transit stay near Newark Airport. The room was spacious. clean & very comfortable. Bistro was very pleasant & the staff were all excellent & very attentive. The only disappointment was that when we departed we were told that the airport shuttle was a free service, but were not told that this only took you as far as the airport train & not to the airport. We had a lot of luggage so were taken aback when told this by the shuttle driver, & had to pay another $... Read more

Extremely disappointed in my stay here. The hotel feels dirty and humid, my sheets didn't look clean. The A/C in the room didn't work properly. The beds are rock hard, I've never slept on a bed this hard in the US before. And refused me a late checkout for no reason (normally if they're fully occupied I understand) but she simply said that's the rule and the computer doesn't allow them to change it. I stayed because I had an early morning departure the following day & they have a shuttle to the airport. Since I hadn't done this before I assumed the shuttle would take me to my terminal, it doesn't. The shuttle is only allowed to take you to the train which takes you to a terminal. And it's not a problem as long as you know that. And if you're traveling with several family members & lots of luggage it could be a real hassle. Pros: Clean, modern, convenient, shuttle, nice beds (pillows are way too squishy - like worn out beanbags). Front desk is extremely nice and helpful! Neat view of Manhattan and Newark Airport at end of hallways. Cons: Extremely noisy - even with earplugs. Stay above the 5th floor. The monorail travels right by the window at this level and you need to have your curtains closed at all times unless you want them to see in! We stay at HI's on a fairly frequent basis. The hotel was great. Comfortable, convenient to the airport, free parking, nice furniture, all that I would expect from a Holiday Inn. The bistro, on the other hand, I found very lacking for the price point, especially for breakfast. 1. They add gratuity to your check. This annoys me to no end. A tip is meant to convey an appreciation for services rendered above the norm. The breakfast staff did the absolute minimum required to service me, and got to decide on the tip amount. 2. We stayed at this Holiday Inn after flying in to EWR the day before our cruise. The free hotel shuttle picked us up at Air Train stop P4 and took us directly to the hotel. The only restaurant near the hotel was IN the hotel and quite pricey for breakfast and dinner. We grabbed Subway and Dunkin Donuts in the terminal prior to catching the shuttle. Everything was very convenient and surprisingly quite as it was next to airport and an expressway. We enjoyed having the sink outside of the bathroom.

I have stayed at plenty of Holiday Inn in the past but this one was more than exceptional. I did the park and fly package to ensure that I made my flight on time. Check in was smooth and quick. Ordered 4 items off the menu for room and service and it was delivered in less than 30 minutes. Not too bad for a hotel restaurant. Nice hotel, great room, comfortable but there is NOTHING around the hotel, not a single restaurant close by. So you either need to taxi somewhere or eat at the hotel. It's fine for one night perhaps but that is it. So essentially you get RIPPED off by the high food prices in the hotel and ridiculous taxi fares. I'd likely stay a little farther away from the airport next time closer to places to eat.

Stayed there a night between two flights and found rest and a room that was absolutely having all I was looking for. The rooms look and give the feeling of being pretty new and modern , which makes them for leisure and business travel a good choice. TV comes with options to connect other devices and has a variety of connector options. The Restaurant at the hotel (450 Bistro) served surprisingly really good food, but is - unsurprisingly - on the more expensive side. Service and check in / out... Read more

Our stay was very short, but the room was clean and the staff very friendly. They have 24 hour shuttle service which was very helpful. The hotel bar and restaurant was open until midnight which was nice to very a snack

This is a nice hotel, modern, clean and the rooms are lovely. The rates per night were ok regarding the excellent location near the airport. The negative point is that the prices of drinks, food in the restaurant and breakfast are sky high.

We had a very early flight out of Newark. We had rented a car and we didn't know how long that would take us to drop off, which we did the night before. We checked into a room at the Holiday Inn at the Newark Airport. The room was exquisite, clean and fresh. Wonderful soaps, shampoos, and coffees. I'm sorry we had such a short stay. It was quiet and dark in the room because of a wonderful shade on the window. The bed was clean, smelled good, and we slept well. I will stay there every time... Read more

Check in was very quick and friendly, I was given my room key and got into my room with no problems at all. The room was clean and big and very modern. I had dinner in the restaurant which was busy and had a pretty good standard, the stir fry was excellent and very enjoyable. Check out was very quick and the shuttle on time and it took me directly to my terminal at the airport in less than 15 minutes. Overall, very happy for a one night stay in between flights and I would definitely stay agai... Read more

We were driving into NYC for a long weekend from Pennsylvania and decided to stay at a hotel in the Newark Airport area to avoid the hassle of driving in Manhattan and paying the high parking fees. The Holiday Inn at the Newark Airport was convenient to Interstate 78 and has shuttle service to the NJTransit stop at the airport. We had never stayed there before. Upon entering, we were surprised to see the interior was nicely appointed. The receptionist was very helpful and offered us complementa... Read more

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. Rooms are clean, and view on Newyork city. The hotel is quiet. And there is a free airport shuttle, which is very useful to get to airport, as well as airtran, and the to nj transit. We were then able to,sleep near newyork, and cheaper. Breakfast is very good and staff is very nice and polite.

The Newark airport Holiday Inn was a welcomed surprise. We got a room there for just one night on our way back to Omaha without any prior knowledge of how good it might be and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was very clean and comfortable. Much quieter than I would have anticipated being close to an airport. I would definitely recommend them to anyone staying in Newark and will use them again the next time I visit family in NJ.

We were only there for about 7 hours total but everything was great. The shuttle driver was very informative about the hotel and traffic and expectations. The front desk gave us toothbrushes and stuff we needed (our luggage remained checked so had nothing). The beds were very comfortable. My only complaint was that we could hear people in other rooms but it served our purpose just fine.
