Hopefully trains don't run all night. Rooms clean and comfortable. Love the Keurigs in the room. TV is a 10 year throwback but so what. Would recommend depending of course on train results. Staff is friendly at front desk and parking good. Not to far from downtown Morristown and there are two decent restaurants although there are better ones close by.

Everything you need and very clean. Well managed. Would have preferred a mini fridge in the room though. Overall very good and I would stay again if in Morristown. 8 minute Huber to town for dinner with good choices.

The first fantastic positive was the front of house staff and their welcome. The amenities and room were quality and the blend of old world charm in a newish facility were so well done. A well appointed fitness area and the restaurant was first class. Dining in the old rail car was a great experience. On arrival we requested a room change and it was facilitated with no fuss. As a military member their care for veterans was exceptional. And, its not one of the corporates so it still has a human... Read more

From the moment I checked in, to the moment I left, I was exceedingly happy with all of the hotel staff, room & amenities. Christine at the front desk was super friendly & helpful. Unbeknownst to me, my sister had called in a surprise 20 minutes before I arrived. Christine ran around and pulled the whole thing off with ease! The room was beautiful and very clean. Dinner (room service) was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel & will absolutely be back again soon.

There are aspects of this property which I really like such as the old fashioned lobby and bar/restaurant, and swimming pool. The room was ok but they really need to update the rooms....get rid of outdated tv's and old furniture that is just old...not antique or very nice even. I also think they need to be conscious of people using sites like Priceline or Hotwire and not sticking them to the worst rooms. Hotels need to understand that those using these sites tend to travel a lot more than perhap... Read more

Our daughter and future son in-law found by searching on the network that the Madison Hotel in Morristown, NJ offered a complete wedding package. It was a beautiful setting for the wedding, although they lived in Brooklyn, NY it was an hour commute by subway and train whitch took them straight to the hotel. My wife and I along with our daughter and spouse rented a car in order to carry belongings to and from the wedding. On getting there we drove off highway 24W before reaching our destination s... Very nice, comfortable hotel. Continental breakfast nicely done. To fill in time between activities, I made use of the pool which was a wonderful way to relax. Hot tub could not be used as it did not have any rails to enter, but I think that was on purpose as they may feel it is too much of a hazard and were discouraging the use for safety reasons. Room was clean and comfortable and everything was perfect.

We were just passing through on our way north. My wife remembered Madison, NJ as a lovely area, having been to a wedding there many years ago. We looked on tripadvisor and the Madison Hotel jumped out. We reserved on tripadvisor at an excellent rate...not significantly more than we would pay at an ordinary motel. Our king room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. Could not have asked for more. We arrived on a Friday evening and learned that several weddings were scheduled for the we... Read more

Had a wonderful stay at the Madison Hotel in Convent Station, Madison, New Jersey. The location is excellent situated between Morristown and historic Madison. Three colleges are neighbors, the College of Sanit Elizabeth, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Drew University. Or you may be attending one of the many weddings that take place here. This hotel is warm and welcoming from the moment you enter the premises. It exudes a culture of warmth with friendly permeating the classic interior. T... Read more

We had a wonderful stay at the Madison Hotel. The staff was lovely, and the lobby and building is beautiful. Our room was large with a good king size bed, and it even had satellite TV with a lot of channels. The breakfast in the lobby looked good, although we did not have a chance to try it. The little details were much appreciated including the travel sized shampoo, soaps, etc. It is also adjacent to two great restaurants (Rod's and the Red Dog Tavern) that we have been to on other occasio... The Madison Hotel is a "stone's throw" from the train to New York City. All you have to do is walk out their driveway and you are at the station. Since your car is parked in the hotel's parking lot, you do not have to pay parking fees. The hotel is beautiful inside and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful stay!

Older hotel but newer rooms are really nice and cozy. Two great restaurants located onsite...one more formal and one more casual. The piano man who plays nightly in the bar area makes for a fun evening!

Very nice stay. Upscale but not typical. Grounds are stunning as are the fixtures. A little old world feel with all of the modern conveniences. 2 restaurants on site with a variety of food and drinks. Guest services were very knowledgeable and friendly. Likely to return for a longer stay.

The hotel was beautiful. Staff very nice. The room was less than average. The bathroom was sub par. The shower/tub water didn't even drain properly. There wasn't even a closet. Just a rod to hang cloths on when you entered the room. The breakfast in the morning and the restaurants were great.

Recently attended my 25th anniversary reunion and stayed here for the weekend. Overall it was a wonderful experience. I arrived the evening before the reunion, checked in and spent some time walking around campus before eating in one of their restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the bedding was comfortable. Included in the cost of the room is a free continental breakfast that was surprisingly well stocked. The food was tasty, fresh and there was a v... Read more

We were in Morristown for a business trip. We stayed at the Madison for 2 nights and had gotten 2 king suite rooms on the same floor. The hotel is older but very well maintained. It is located in a lovely area near the downtown area. The staff were very friendly and check in was a breeze. Both of our rooms were on the 3rd floor across from each other. You would think that since we both had king suites, the accommodations should be identical, but they were not, our room had a mini-frig and ... Read more

My family and I were visiting New Jersey to see some of my relatives. I was very impressed the minute that we walked in! This antique hotel has a marvelous ambience! As for our room, it was very clean. The beds were a bit small but were at least comfy and clean. We ordered room service one time and the food was absolutely delicious. Each morning, my family and I would have breakfast in the patio; the breakfast items in the lobby are usually toast, bagels, pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and eg... Read more

Other reviews have discussed "days gone by" but although older, it still carries itself reasonably well, especially for the rate we received. Not intended as a Ritz but has a touch of class with helpful staff and nice restaurant, plus bar attached. Things are older but everything seemed to work fine. 2 minutes from downtown Madison where there's plenty of other food options. Only downside is that it's popular for weddings so you're apt to see lots of late room/food service trays in hallways,... Read more

The Madison Hotel was a great location for the Shakespeare Theatre. Located a block from the train station, across the street from St. Elizabeth College where the outdoor theatre is located, and a few miles from Drew University and the indoor theatre, this location was ideal. The common rooms are lovely. Beautiful lobby and outdoor courtyard, and nice indoor pool. Breakfast is included in rate and served in the lobby common area. It can get very crowded later in the morning. Complementary coffe... Read more

I stayed in the Madison Hotel last week in a business trip and was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has the charm of an old stately hotel but is relatively new (30 yrs or so). Lots of details that they don't spend on a hotel these days. The beds were very comfortable (primary importance) and things were clean. Free wifi. Free breakfast (decent but not great but it was free). They have a very nice bar and restaurant attached to the hotel as well. I will definitely sta... Read more

Booked as last minute 1 yr anniversary with my sweetie- room was lovely, comfortable. Despite a couple of weddings happening it was a quiet night. Room service prices astronomical for less than delicious food- to be fair, we ordered around 10 pm, but a loaded baked potato came w/ literally nothing and we had to ask for condiments- a bit odd at $9. Breakfast included and was delicious and plentiful. Fresh baked croissants out of this world with Individual jars of gourmet jelly.
