This is an excellent IHG property, comes with a full-fledged kitchen. The beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious-enough for a small family. The location is very convenient - 5 mins from the train station, 8 mins from the New Port mall and there are some decent restaurants near the hotel too.

We stayed at this location for two nights with our little Yorkie. We were very pleased with the room, full kitchen and staff. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We parked on site for a small charge of $10. per day and the hotel was very centrally located to all. They have a little store accessible by your room key where you can buy for a small charge anything you need to cook in your room's kitchen. They stocked milk, sodas, teas, juices. I l... Read more

The hotel is very accommodating, accepting one night cancellations or schedule changes electronically, or in person, with very little notice. The staff were friendly, the room had everything you would need to prepare your own meals if you'd like to, as well as being very clean. It was centrally located and extremely easy and quick to get to New York City from the hotel.

This hotel is relatively inexpensive, and after staying there it's clear why. They have a shuttle to the subway, but it does not run at convenient times. They have a snack bar, but the coffee machine is always broken. They have in-room air conditioning, but it fails to function properly -- they were unable to fix it, and they paged their off-hours technician, who never responded. For a two-night stay, they do not offer maid service, and if you want clean towels you have to bring your dirty towe... Read more

Our first time visiting NYC and wanted to keep it as inexpensive as possible. We were told staying in Jersey City was a good option and it did work out great. Candlewood suites were perfect for our stay. We had 4 people and the separate bedroom with pull out couch wired great. Having a kitchen helped reduce cost for breakfast. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. With just a short walk to the ferry over to NYC. This was an excellent place to stay.

The Hotel is middle of Newport, Jesery City. Enjoy the beautiful view of the new york city from my room. Service was good. Enjoy the stay here for 2 weeks. Easy access to Path station for commuting to New York and near by to NewPort Mall.

I should have written this sooner but better late than never. My friend and I stayed here last September and I loved it. Very spacious air-condidioned bedroom with a kitchenette and dining area. The kitchen utensils are supplied (pots, pans, cutlery and crockery). The fridge has an excellent ice making facility which came in really handy. We ate out sometimes but also went to the local supermarket and bought food to cook and also all of our daily breakfast foods. You need to ask to change your... Read more

I stayed in this hotel for more than 5 months. I was checking in on Monday and out on Friday. My overall experience with this hotel is good. It provides decent sized & clean rooms. Staff are friendly. Complementary Shuttle service is available to near by rail stations and shopping centers. Views of NY skyline are awesome. As this is extended stay, don't expect daily house keeping.

Good amenities for the price. Weekly and daily rates. Quiet location; only a few blocks walk to PATH station - first stop is World Trade Center. Parking lot on the property. Friendly, accommodating staff - Tonia, in particular was very helpful.

Stayed here on business for a week. First impressions, room very clean and well equipped. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great position to explore New York with either ferry or train very close by. I've never stayed any where like this before I.E fridge, cooker etc. At fist I thought it would be pain not having breakfast provided, however after a trip to supermarket to stock up, no issues. No Bar or restaurant however there is plenty within walking distance. Wifi works p... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on the ground floor in the 'accessibility' room. This room had one private bedroom with a sofa bed with a nice, thick mattress. We had a kitchen, so could make our own meals too! The bathroom was large and spacious, and the bed was comfortable, and super quiet! There is no free breakfast, but a room where there were foods that you could buy for breakfast, with meal combos that were very reasonably priced. The coffee was free though, and the popcorn (and we ... Read more

I reserved the Candlewood because it was close to my meeting and colleagues had given it a good review. I didn't realize it was geared toward long term travelers. As someone staying only 3 nights, the lack of housekeeping ( service is weekly) was inconvenient, and I was surprised that it didn't provide breakfast. On the plus side, the room was clean and well supplied, the area had great restaurant options, the hotel is convenient to NYC for dinner. Also had a nice fitness room.

This was our first trip to NYC & I had originally had another hotel booked in a totally different location. I am so happy that I switched to this one. Planning a trip to NYC can be totally overwhelming & we ended up loving our location. The hotel is in a great location that has a wonderful boardwalk along the Hudson River with an unbelievable skyline view of NYC within a short walk (by short, I mean across the street). This area alone ended up being our reprieve from the big city environment whe... Read more

Excellent location, hygiene, courteous staff, great maintenance. I stayed here for several months during 2004-05. Easy commute to NYC, as my job location was wall street. After staying first few days, I decided to stay here for the entire duration of my project.

The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. Kudos to Ruth for getting us the type of room we requested & Patrick who helped us get our rewards and towels. They really made it a great experience! Room was very clean and hotel location was perfect for us.

The room is good. The location is excellent as its pretty near to 'PATH' railway station. So going to NY in between becomes pretty easy. My office location was nearby and many good hotels in the same area. Its located adjacent to the Hudson River - so after 7 or 8 pm you can have a good walk along the river side - its a pretty good experience as you get to see the night view of the cityscape with all those wonderful lights. Reception was a bit straight forward in everything - giving warnings of ... Read more
