Jonathan at the front desk started our stay off on the right foot. We experienced a glitch with the on-line reservation I had made; however, he was able to turn a potentially frustrating situation around and handled it very professionally, patiently and compassionately. He was very informative and told us about the availability of the hotel's shuttle. This made our whole experience even BETTER as I didn't have to contend with parking, etc. I was dreading the thought of dealing with traffic, t... Read more

I have been coming to this location for the past 4 years while my daughter was in school at s nearby college. I absolutely loved every stay. It was always clean and comfortable. I always felt safe when I was alone. The staff was amazing (especially Edgar). I will definitely come back if visiting the school or NYC. It's so easy and convenient to take the train to NY Penn Station.

We picked this hotel for the free airport shuttle. The staff was friendly, good breakfast (with miso soup!), and reasonable price. I wouldn't stay more than 1 night though. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest, and the deadbolt in our room didn't latch.

We stayed at this hotel because of an organised tour to New York City(Tourika). It turns out it was a better hotel that we thought. Our room included a mini-fridge, a microwave, and an easy-to-use shower. Our beds were very comfy, and we slept very well. We were delighted that our stay came with a complimentary breakfast. It had a lot of variety, and items you wouldn't typically see in a breakfast buffet. Location was very good, because it was very close to NYC(we passed through Lincoln Tunnel).... Read more

Very nice hotel; clean room; good amenities; everything worked. What stands out, though, is the convenience of the shuttle to Newark Penn Station. Between 7am and 11pm, you can ask/call for a shuttle to or from the station when you want. Other hotels I've stayed in only run the shuttle on the half hour, or only have a shuttle that goes to Newark Airport. If you stay at one of those and you want to go to NYC, you then have to pay $10 round trip from the airport to the train station.

This is a great place to go if you are laid over for a flight. The hotel crew is very efficient and friendly and make sure you are satisfied. Breakfast was great and breakfast area kept clean. We had to wait for flight in lobby and it was wonderful to see manager Edgar so sweet to everyone. He handled busy times with ease. Then Terrance the shuttle driver was great. He is a good driver and very courteous and fun to talk with. Great stay

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Newark Penn Station for our family visit to NYC. Positive Elements: - The hotel is clean. - The staff is very friendly and helpful (especially the shuttle driver- full of great NYC tips and recommendations) - Hampton Inn beds are the most comfortable in the industry (I'm airline pilot, I know!) - Great breakfast in the morning (Hampton Inn coffee is the BEST!) - Free, on-demand shuttle to and from Newark Penn Station. - HEATED indoor pool -Large ... Stayed there for visiting NYC. 10 minute walk to commuter train station and 35 minute train ride later, we were at NY Penn Station. Hotel was right on river, which was nice for walking. For the reasonable price, free parking, free internet, free breakfast, indoor pool and gym, this was totally worth it for us.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The shuttle drivers were wonderful. On our first day, the shuttle driver walked across the street to the train station and directed us on where to buy our tickets for the New York City train and how to contact them when we returned. They were helpful in giving suggestions on best times to travel to the city and places to try. Would stay here again.

When planning a visit to NYC, my family & I wanted a hotel that would provide easy access to the city, in a safe neighborhood, and able to accommodate our SUV with a storage container on top. (Many parking garages in the northeast have less than 7' clearance). We were very pleased that this hotel met all our needs and exceeded our expectations. It was evident that the manager takes great pride in the property. The hotel is located in a safe area, had an open parking lot, and provided FREE shuttl... Read more

I stayed in this location for 2 nights during a vacation to NYC. Just a few minutes from the Newark airport, this hotel is in the town of Harrison, which seems to be a mixed bag. Some of it's nice, some of it seems very shady. If you are not going to be walking around surrounding neighborhoods at night, you have nothing to worry about. The hotel was very clean and updated. The room was excellent. One of the best showers I've had in a hotel. Staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. Love the convenience of the shuttle service to downtown/convention center. Most of the other hotel only offer shuttle to airport only. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you bc is right next to the train line/bridge, very noisy. The bridge next to the hotel will be closed In July for construction. It will not be a short walk to downtown.

Staff is friendly and professional. Location is great near Penn Station. They solve room issues quickly and professionally. Look for Jonathan at the front desk. Complimentary breakfast is a huge benefit. Online check in and check out with the app is easy

I stayed in the Hampton Inn, Harrison, NJ many times. It is close to my old home town in New Jersey. I have stayed there for funerals, family reunions, family weddings in the area and to visit old friends and family. It is a great hotel to stay at for one or two nights. Clean with a friendly staff. I always try to stay at this Hampton Inn whenever I go to Newark - at least 3-4x per year. I have stayed in other downtown hotels, and this hotel is worth the ride. Rooms are easy. Great staff, great services, including free shuttle to downtown areas.

Hotel is clean, remodeled rooms. Had nice view of the river. Some of the rooms can be noisy because of the traffic - ask for a quiet room. Bedding is new, towels are new as well. Neutrogena shampoo, lotion, etc. Breakfast is outstanding: eggs, omelettes, waffles, yogurt, lots of fruit, oatmeal, etc. Good coffee and hot tea available throughout the day. Overall great value - considering free breakfast and free parking.

Nice hotel that offered a free shuttle service to the New Jersey Path Station which took us into NYC. The free hot breakfast had many offerings from eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, plus bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the hotel was clean. My only complaint, which will prevent me from staying there again is their beds were aweful. Very uncomfortable & they squeaked with every little movement. With new beds this would be a top notch hotel.

As part of a wedding party that booked rooms with the hotel, we were told of multiple shuttles to pick up the party at Nanina's In The Park venue. There was only ONE shuttle that could only seat about 12 people going back and forth to pick up a large group of people...somewhere around 40 people. This made for a very slow process to get back to hotel. Wedding party and contract was for numerous shuttles, not just 1. (Shuttle driver was very nice by the way. No issues with him at all) We had 2 k... Read more

For the price, I would rather stay at this location vs getting a hotel in the City. The price is great, the hotel is in great condition and the Newark Train Station is only a short distance away so you can take a train into the city easily and quickly.

Hampton inn is routinely one of my top 'go to' places. This one was clean and nice. However the rate was a bit steep for the location, and there was a mix up with the shuttle that left us stranded one time. Good, but a little caution - maybe mention your needs and expectations to the desk on the way out.

the room itself was ok - but listening to the train go back and forth all night did not lend itself to a good nights rest. I will not be staying at this location in the future. I used the shuttle service from the airport. Was quoted 25 minutes - it took an hour for the shuttle to arrive and there was very little traffic - took 15 minutes to get to the hotel.

I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful in our traveling to NYC for the day. The shuttle service was nice. The breakfast was excellent. The breakfast area layout could be better though. The rooms were very clean. The windows were a little dirty with bird poop which was nasty to look at.

Very comfortable stay! The employees were friendly and willing to help, especially with our pickup by the shuttle service. Rooms were clean, quiet and the view was amazing! Free buffet breakfast was ok. Also easy to travel into New York. Will definitely recommend and stay again!

The hotel was nice. The area that it is located in is not so nice. The view of the river is pretty. The hotel interior is well kept and up to date. The room was comfortable. The parking was free along with the WiFi and breakfast.

We were looking for a hotel with reasonable access to NYC since pricing is ridiculous in Manhattan. With shuttle service to airport and Penn Station this was an excellent choice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It met the Hampton standards that you want.

My son and I stayed here from Nov 18-21, 2016 and could not have asked for a better place. The room was spacious, clean, modern and well stocked including a fridge and a microwave. The hallways were bright and wide, the elevators efficient, the lobby clean and comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had for a buffet. But the absolute best part was the shuttle service! They chauffeured us where we needed to go including NJPAC centre (X2), Penn Station (x5), another hotel, and to... Read more

The hotel shuttle from the airport was convenient and reliable, as long as you called the hotel to inform them of your arrival. Front desk staff helpful, given a double bed instead of a king bed with jacuzzi. Front desk looked into fixing it the next morning. Ladies at the breakfast polite, good variety of breakfast options to choose. Overall, nice experience!
