My wife and I spent four nights at the Periwinkle. It was a pleasant stay from reservations to check-out. Our room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage, nice TV, and nice ocean view. We have been going to Cape May in September (anniversary-59th) for 30+ years, this was one of the best experiences, including past stays at the Periwinkle. There recent up-dates are great!

From booking to checkout our experience was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. We were particularly impressed with the attention to detail by housekeeping and the beautiful groundskeeping and pool area. Great location on the beachfront and a great value for our money. The Periwinkle is our new "go to" place in Cape May.

Governor posted a state of emergency so we were unable to come down for our weekend. The hotel charged us the full amount of the weekend anyway. I called and they said we would be contacted if state of emergency and that we wouldn't have to be charged. When I heard nothing I called back and another girl said no ! We are charging you. Was very rude and when I asked to speak to the manager she said I'm not giving names! Would never stay here or recommend This hotel to anyone!

Given the non-refundable policy, I tried to contact them on Sunday at 10AM. I was told by a voicemail that they only take calls 9-3 M - Th, or something like that. I am teacher and I teach those hours, so this place is not for us. It looked nice, but the lack of availability precludes me from booking anything online with The Periwinkle Inn. Caveat Emptor!

We loved our stay here, even though it rained all weekend. We had an updated large room with a fridge and microwave. Our balcony had a view of the ocean (from the side) and was also nice and large. The grounds were kept very nice. There is no restaurant or bar at the hotel but there are others withing walking distance and you can certainly do breakfast in the room with the fridge and coffee maker. This is not a high-end hotel with all the amenities but that is not what we were looking for. This ... Read more

I would say overall this place is overpriced for what it is. The room was clean and had the basics and the cleaning staff did a nice job. However, you can hear every little thing from outside and especially another hotel room above or adjacent. For our last night staying there, I believe there were probably 5 rooms booked. It didn't seem like many since the lot was practically empty. But they decided to put someone above our room and you could hear all this slamming, water running, toilet flush... Read more

Where can you go on the Jersey Shore where you enjoy a luxurious room only steps from a spectacular beach! Loved it! The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable with balconies, the pool is lovely ... what more can I say!

Yes, the Inn is across the street from the beach and the ocean. in Mid May you can get on the beach for free and walk for miles. Not every dining establishment is open, but what we found we liked and will always come back. The facility does not offer meals, but there is a very good restaurant right next door. The grounds are immaculate, the pool was crystal clear. The room is very basic...comfortable bed, pillows and small bistro table with chairs. The balcony had two chairs as well. There is sm... From beginning to end our stay at the Periwinkle Inn was second to none. From the moment we got there I was impressed by the warm greeting of the owners Jennifer and Claudia. We quickly got our room key and our son was even given food to feed the fish in the pond. Our room was impeccably clean, with fully modern appliances!! The easy access to the beach was great as well and we enjoyed being able to come back late in the afternoon to swim by the pool. The Periwinkle Inn has a great family atm... Read more

I enjoy the Victorian inns, but sometimes you just want modern comfort and the periwinkle delivers modern comfort in a neatly laid out campus, great pool on site, clean and well appointed rooms, and friendly professional staff. I loved the more modern aesthetic and appreciated how clean our room was every day. I also saw the maids cleaning a nearby room that was checked out one day, completely wiping down the mini fridge and chairs, so you know the room you're getting is thoroughly cleaned. Outd... We stayed our first time at the Periwinkle the last week of September for two nights last year. Aside from it not having laundry facilities, it was perfect! Just a beautiful place! Because of the off peak rates, we got to take advantage of staying in the E-4 suite which is amazing!! Downstairs right off the back door is ground level pool front, upstairs off the balcony is direct ocean front, we were in heaven.... Nuf ced!! We could never afford it otherwise so I emailed them and told them how m... Read more

This establishment is adorable! Rooms are fresh, easy and super tidy with a sweet modern touch. The pool is crystal clean and the grounds meticulously manicured. Location is directly across from the beach entrance close enough to where the cafes and shops begin yet far enough to enjoy the neighborhood feel. The office area was bright and welcoming as was the staff. Lots of simple touches; was given a bottle of water and lemon infused cold cloth (individually wrapped/made in USA product) Very re... This hotel turned out to be better than expected! First of all, I was afraid of finding that this was just another motel on the beach, but actually the Periwinkle was better than that (and if I have to be honest, you can read that I stayed at the Victorian Motel a few years ago, which is the number 1 hotel on Tripadvisor for Cape May, but I liked the Periwinkle sooo much better...). The room were clean and very modern, the bedding is not the old thin horrible colored spread you find around, but ... Read more

Arrived early, room not ready which was fine but paper work completed and was told we'd be called when room was ready. Friendly staff at desk, very welcoming. Spent the rest of the day at the beach. Called just after 3pm to inform us room was ready. Large room on top floor overlooking the pool. Very clean room and bathroom. Fridge, microwave and coffee facilities provided. Enjoyed this hotel right opposite beach. Would highly recommend.

I loved staying at the Periwinkle! Expedia had canceled our room without our knowledge so we were without a room. The ladies at the front desk were very accommodating. The room was the 2 queen standard, the beds comfortable, it has a coffee pot, micro and a small refrigerator. Perfect for our needs. It is decorated simply but with a French flair. The pool area was large enough for the hotel. I wish the chairs were inside the pool area but there is not enough room.

My husband & I stayed for one night on a last minute trip to Cape May. We were greeted by super friendly staff on the phone while making the reservation and at the front desk (I think her name was Sue). After a long drive it was nice to see a parking spot reserved just for guests that are checking-in right up front. Walking up to the hotel office you can see this hotel is IMPECCABLE. From the landscaping on the grounds & around the pool, to the room decor, this hotel is VERY CLEAN and tastefully... Read more

Stayed at the Periwinkle for an overnite, which is located across from the beach. The room was on the ocean, with terrace, a great pool, a grill on premise and newly appointed and well maintained rooms. They were updated, and modern. The room was equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and nice counter area. Large rooms and lovely staff. The trolley into the main village was outside our door. It's a smaller hotel, which was a plus. Lovely grounds. The pool was quiet and a nice size. Plenty of pa... Read more
