Though the remainder of the Chelsea Hotel looks nice, from what I could presume, the Annex is an older part of The Chelsea Hotel. Ask before you book if the room is located in this portion of the hotel. If it is, do NOT stay there! The Annex is THE worse hotel I have ever stayed at. The hallway leading up to the rooms looks like something out of The Bates Motel movies! The lights were busted, the elevator was dirty, and the furniture was dry rotted--no lie! I took pictures so I could tell folks!... Read more

I stayed in the Hollywood Suite in the Chelsea Annex. What a dump. It was dirty, ceiling in bedroom and bathroom was peeling and falling onto floor, shower drain all rusty, the furniture was awful. I could have stayed in a nice New York hotel for what I paid to stay there. I would never ever to there again. IT IS A DUMP!!!!

First, I will agree with the other reviewers - the staff members we encountered were great, friendly & professional. The lobby area was clean and had a chic appearance. I had reserved a room in the Annex, so I am unable to comment on the rooms in the tower (formerly a Holiday Inn, where I have stayed in one of the tower rooms). The Annex had to be an afterthought when purchased, because I know this section used to be a beachside motor inn from yesteryear. And basically what was done to the ... Read more

This is more a motel. First the staff was very friendly and if you need something they did it right away. The 5th floor where the pool is was decent and updated more. Now let's go into the rooms. First it was 160 for the night in the Annex part of the building. When you walk into the lobby it is nice but when you go to the Annex side it looks like a horror movie. The walls are old and painted yellow. They had neon signs like a cheap motel. I kid you not it looked like a horror movie. The ... Read more

I only gave one star because I had too I don't know how this place is even open. Their are 2 parts of the hotel and this is the dirtiest nastiest part of the hotel it's literally like American horror story hotel. The lobby is very nice and decorated fooling you that the hotel might actually be really nice. As soon as you step away from the front desk and lobby just don't go. You'll see pee yellow walls, neon signs blinking, pipes filthy carpets, bad paint jobs, no AC just Plan hot and dirty hall... Read more

I'd you stay in the Annax well the rooms are rough, but for the price to be on the boardwalk I guessed you can't have both, I will say the beds are comfortable though and you get a balcony, but this is a very shady area so be careful going out at night, I would definitely not go alone, right next to the Tropicana, but if you want to gamble at any of the other places it's quite a walk, and if you want to take the tram on the boardwalk expect a very long long wait it is 5.50 for an entire day ... I booked this for one night for July 9th because it was the lowest price closest to the beach. After i booked the room I saw the reviews and I was hesitant but thought maybe it wouldn't be too bad, we only needed it for one night. I can't even describe how nasty the Annex is. The elevator was small and dingy. We got to the 3rd floor and the hallway was small, dirty and musty. The room was terrible I didn't even want to touch anything. My 7 year old son even said the bathroom was gross. The bath... Read more

Well what I can I say, it was a one night stay before heading to the airport in the morning! Rough part of town with shady characters outside. Lobby is nice but the minute we started walking down to the elevator to go to the annex part of the hotel, I knew stuff was about to go down. The elevators are extremely old with busted up flooring. Took forever to open which made me almost lose my you know what right then and there. Elevator opens and this bright red neon sign that said "relax" blinked b... Read more

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights in Atlantic City. After searching for a hotel we decided to give the Chelsea a shot. The reception area looked nice and the location was right near the boardwalk which was a plus. The check in process was a bit disorganized, as was the valet parking but overall we were happy to have found a place to stay. We were not informed til after my husband's credit card had been swiped and the transaction completed that we would be staying in the Annex portion of t... Read more

My husband and I had stayed at the Chelsea Lux tower a few years ago and were satisfied. This time we wanted to go down on to Atlantic City on a Saturday night in the summer and the casino hotel prices were outrageously expensive. I thought the Annex offered a reasonable price and a great location so we booked it. It's basically like a crappy motel that was enclosed at some point. The rooms are beyond dated and appear to have NEVER been remodeled. The bathroom had clear mold in it and the dres... Read more

After a long time on the check-in line, I finally got into the room and welcomed by a strange smell. This annex room is so poorly cleaned, the carpet is so rubbishy. I just can't stay in this room so I went back to the desk asking for an upgrade and was told that all tower rooms are sold out. Without other options, we have to move to another hotel.

My husband decided to book a hotel for our anniversary and they definitely bamboozled him with the pics and the scenery online. This was his first time making any reservation at all and he didn't know to read reviews. Well when we pull up it looked decent on the outside and even when we walk to the checkin desk the whole lobby looked just like the online photos. We gave our name and the told us our room was down the hall to the left OMG AFTER THAT !!! We walk down this dungeon of a hallway with ... Read more

Two night stay became a one night stay. The annex was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in while in AC. The carpet, elevator, bathrooms and rooms need renovations. The bathroom door could not close. We kept hearing a banging sound outside the room and realized that the people in the other room must've been trying to close the door and the only way to close it was tho slam it shut. Personally I think the hotel should just do away with this part ((Annex). All the furniture is worn rooms, lobby,... Read more
