For the full price of a little under 80$ the room was as expected. Pros: Free WiFi Quiet rooms Good size TV and input hookups Cons: Dirty. Vents, picture frames and lights covered in dust. Shower had hair in it and there were cobwebs in the corners. The cable network they have is not great. Maybe 30 channels and it's very delayed. It was an okay size room, I would probably stay there again because it's cheap and right off the highway. But I do wish they would be a bit cleaner.

Great location just off the expressway, but as it's off the main road, it was nice and quiet. Room was very clean and being 100% smoke-free guarantees no in-room smells. Stayed for business purposes and would definitely stay here again if in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Out of the close to 200 nights I've spent in motels this year, this is the one I have stayed in the most. And I have to say that for the price this by far one of the best I've been to. Many of the rooms have a microwave and mini fridge. There is an ironing board and iron and a hair dryer. The cable is pretty good. There are 2 channels of HBO and a nice variety of sports channels and your usual cable TV fare. Because its Direct TV, sometimes there is an issue with the program guide, which i... Read more

The rooms are clean and inexpensive. The location is right off the highway and close to shopping and other attractions in the area. It was certainly not a fancy room but very clean even though a little outdated. There is coffee available in the lobby only which was a bit of an inconvenience in the morning, It would be nice if there was coffee available in the rooms. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were hard and flat. They could use new pillows!

I have stayed at this location twice, two years apart. The first time I was impressed with the cleanliness, staff, and professionalism of the management. Thus when I found myself back in the area in October 2015, I immediately returned for a week-end stay. In the interim of two years, the management had improved on an already well run hotel. The general manager is a wonderful person, who goes out of his way to provide outstanding service, and who will not hesitate to correct swiftly any issu... Read more

It would be ok for a business traveler, but I didn't find it to be the least bit attractive for either a family or a couple. The hotel is in a beautiful area and has easy access to major roads. The staff was extremely friendly, and very accommodating! Over all a very nice place but we picked the wrong place for us, on this occasion. Thank you for taking care of us Red Roof Inn!

Went with this hotel based on generally positive reviews here. Be forewarned! This is a really sketchy place, with a group of noisy individuals who appeared less-than approachable smoking just beyond the exerior doors of the motel. In the room, it reeked of past smokers (despite being "non smoking) and was NOT clean. Pillowcase was smeared with what appeared to be mascara, the room was run-down, and - the last straw - there were fleas in the bed. Fortunately the front desk person granted a ... Read more

The room was clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would stay again. It was affordable and close to many restaurants and convenience stores. Only in town for one night, the hotel fit our needs. The free coffee in the lobby was a nice perk.

I recently stayed at this hotel after my sister's wedding which was in the area. They were very accommodating with a late check in. All the staff I encountered were very pleasant and courteous. The room surprised me-it was very clean with no trace of smoke smell at all. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean as well. I was overall pleased with my whole experience.

We stay here a couple times a year and have enjoyed every time. The rooms are always clean. The shower pressure is GREAT! The staff is super friendly and they can help with directions or suggestions to anywhere. I spoke with the manager-Steve I think-he was very professional. This hotel is in a central location only 25 minutes from the beach and right near Canobie Lake. We hope to be back for another long weekend this year.

I checked in yesterday (Monday) and will be here till Saturday. The staff have been very nice, Serena is great! Very helpful with information on the area and printing stuff for us. The cleaning staff have been very nice and helpful. Room was very clean and after a one night stay at Wyndham in Jersey the night before I really appreciate the saving and value for the level of clean and friendly here! It can't be beat!

We needed a place to stay for one night in the area and didn't want to spend much. The room was clean, the amenities are minimal. There was a tissue packet instead of a box of tissues - fine but seems unnecessarily cheap. The doors open to the outside which always makes me less comfortable.

Stayed for 2 nights for business. Room was very basic with no extras. Very clean room but no coffee maker (you can walk to office to get it), no fridge, no hairdryer. These things are helpful to know ahead of time for visitor's planning purposes. There were options for a king size bed or two double beds. Staff was very friendly.

The place was OK for the price, but no luxury suite - about as expected. It was clean, the bed was fine, the room small. Mostly unremarkable. Location reasonable- except we were trying to go to Salem MA - to see the witches. Somehow ended up in Salem NH - I didn't pay enough attention, I guess- 40 miles away.

We stayed at this location passing through Boston on our way to Bar Harbor, Maine. The check in process was not very smooth. There was a large group in the main area which is pretty small so the 6 people there made it seem like a large group. They were trying to get rooms side by side and were mad when they were told they couldn't because the place was booked. They weren't polite to the staff which understandably put them in a not so great mood. The lobby smelled like a chain smoker had been c... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for one night, on a weekday. PROS: Room had nice wood/laminate floors and a nice desk set up. Good number of electrical outlets by desk. Bed was on the firm side, but comfortable. A/C worked well in our room, though it never got ice cold. Fridge and microwave were handy. Free wi-fi had a strong signal. Lighting was unique, more yellowish lighting in the room...but we kind of liked it. Room was clean, linens seemed clean. Room was on second floor and quiet. Staff was fri... Read more

The Red Roof motel was convent for trip north on Highway 93. Room was clean and cool. I turned the air conditioner off during the night because it was awful noisy. The BIG minus was a Huge Brown Recluse Spider at home in the room. Even though I was tired from a day of travelling, I had difficultly sleeping after capturing her with a water cup. I'd recommend skipping this hotel even though the price was reasonable with coupon.

Cheap, great location no frills hotel. Basic room with no iron or coffee maker which is expected for the price. I would rate this "100% smoke free" hotel higher if it weren't for the overwhelming smell of smoke. During check in it was kind of funny since the 100% smoke free sign is right in front of you. And the smell was the first thing I noticed. The door to my room was open when I got there-likely to air out the smell of smoke since it also had that stale smoke smell. Not sure if it's just... This hotel has no frills to speak of other than 24/7 coffee and tea. The rooms are small and the one i was in had no chair to sit and watch tv comfortably. This is a bare bones hotel with no breakfast of any kind. There were a lot of people hanging out at all hours in the parking lot. The front desk staff appeared to be friendly enough.High priced for what you do NOT get.

So this was my first visit to the Red Roof Inn in New Hampshire. The prices were great which is why I decided to book it for my mini vacation. We came here to go to Canobie Lake tomorrow and I'm excited to go. The Check in process I wasn't thrilled with. The staff members seemed a bit rude to me since my friend was under 21. One of them rudely asked me why I was here. (Not like that matters to you). Basically told me that if we had any alcohol in the room, the cops would be called. Ok? wasn't s... Read more

I needed to be in the Newbury and Salem, Massachusetts area for a few days. I booked a Danvers hotel 6 months ago, then the good reviews changed for the worse. I made reservations here, knowing we would have a longer drive each day, but maybe a cleaner, safer option. I was very pleased with this Red Roof. It was extremely busy during our stay, but our room on the 2nd floor was pretty quiet. The room was very clean. The staff very understanding when we were not up and out early. Newbury wa... Read more

The Salem Red Roof is a really well-run hotel, thanks to the staff. You won't meet any movers or shakers there, of course. What you find in the lobby and behind the desk are working stiffs who're doing their very best to scratch a living out of the cold, hard ground of our economic system. I've met welders from Wisconsin, builders from all over, truck drivers, salesmen, and much else. Do they want to travel to find work? No, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Location was good, friendly front desk staff. When we were going to our room a housekeeper was between rooms and was very helpful and very friendly. At check in we asked for a non-smoking room. When we got to our rooms the overwhelming smell of smoke was not a pleasant first impression. All we could smell was smoke even in my sleep. Other than that the hotel was fine.

Amazing, how stupid are we getting in America ? Well, they didn't and I want to tell you I spent one of the most uncomfortable nights in that springing bed. We needed a place to stay after a late arrival in Boston, as we headed north. The Red Roof was one of the less expensive places on the route. The room was small, with the bathroom sink and counter in the room itself. The bathroom had a toilet and tub barely big enough for one person, but adequate. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. But the walls had stains, the tub had stains from a pink cleaning agent, and the whole place had that chemical motel smell. The motel is obvious... We stayed one night on our way further north. Since we were only there for one quick night I only can say a few things. Nice, very clean room. The woman that checked us in was very nice. Completely Non smoking hotel which is important to my husband and me. It is immediately off the highway which is convenient. They do offer AAA or senior discount. Would stay there again.
