This hotel needs lots of updating. The rooms (especially the bathrooms) show that they have been around for a WHILE. However, if you need to stay in southern NH this is your best option. Their competition across the street is super run down and this is definitely a better alternative

We arrived very late at night to a room, upgraded (surprise!) to meet our unique needs. It was so much appreciated! Front desk personnel infallibly polite and went out of their way to help. A shout out to Sheyla, whom was particularly helpful.

I travel for business, and stay in many hotels, but this place always makes me feel like I'm home. The staff is delightful, the suites are comfortable, and the on site restaurant makes a weary business traveller most welcome. I was upgraded on my last stay, and enjoyed a large suite, with a gas fireplace and a private sauna. Yes. Sauna. (Room 115) I had a couple meals at Margarita's (connected to the hotel), and while sitting at the bar was able to chat up my neighbors and get very good food. Wh... Read more

This hotel is okay, Here with my family right now. A little bit of a disappointment!! Kids were excited for some time away. The outside pool is closed. The indoor pool is okay the water seems to be murky or cloudy The hot tub is not working waiting for parts. The game room shown in the photos advertising the hotel. Doesn't even exist. The staff all seem friendly everyone from the gentle man who cleaned the pool room to the people at check in. Check in was easy. The only issue there was when w... Read more

Awfule smell two rooms....would prefer another hotel. There is a stale smell everywhere and the rooms were worse. First one smelled like rotten chicken soup and the second one smelled like a burnt hair dryer. Will never come here again.

I was at this Holiday Inn to sponsor a meeting and stayed 3 nights. Kelsey at the front desk was incredible and took care of all my requests perfectly with an awesome attitude. I tried to hire her, but my company is in Dallas:-) and she's in NH. John, the head of maintenance took care of everything else to impeccable detail, also with an amazing attitude. Management should be very proud of these two.

Holiday Inn Salem - Excellent staff ( friendly and courteous). I'm an early bird. While my family was still sleeping, the cafe manager went out of his way to make me a cup of coffee. Thankyou so much! 3 nights and 2 long days at canobie lake park. It's all about building memories with your kids. The hotel engineer was on top of everything. Busy and professional i may add. Clean and pristine is how i like it. Next year a DEFINITE STAY THERE! This time im going for room 105! Or KING SUITE.

Staff was great except the overnight front desk who seemed like she didn't know anything. The rooms are extremely tight and small for the price. Breakfast wasn't included which it also should have been for the price we payed for an over night stay.

This hotel for the age and lack of up dating of the rooms is over priced. Not to mention if you want coffee or breakfast you need to wait until 6:30am and pay $1.95 for low quality coffee. As a spire elite member I guess I expect a free cup of coffee when paying well over $100.00 at a holiday in. If I had to stay in town again I would not stay here.

Took 4 of the grandkids - age 14-20 to Canobie for an overnight. Stayed at Holiday Inn (rm 507 and 509). We put the 3 girls in one room which was two queen and requested a cot which was waiting for us in the room. It's a pretty standard room - 2 beds, desk, chair ---- tight fit for the cot - they tried it but wound up putting it away as it was uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend the cot unless you brought an air mattress with you. Girls loved the bedding - in particular the pillows. The 2nd ... Read more

This hotel is clean, friendly, comfortable and would get a perfect score except......the connecting doors. We could hear every word that the people in the next room were saying. Thank goodness they seemed to be on our schedule and didn't stay up late. I'm honestly not sure if you can get a room without a connecting door because in that case, this hotel is perfect.

We are a family of four and were visiting Canobie Lake Park. We stayed in the King Suite (Room 121) around August 2016. The lobby was nice and clean and the people working here at the hotel were pleasant. However, after checking into our room it was all downhill from here. The room was outdated and in need of some serious cleaning and updating. The rug and wallpaper design was chosen to hide all the stains and there was a ton of them. There was rust all over the outdated light fixtures. ... Read more

We stayed here on our way to Maine. Clean and comfortable with both an indoor and an outdoor pool as well as an onsite restaurant. We didn't know until after we had eaten dinner, but you can call in an order to the restaurant from the outdoor pool, charge it to your room, and they'll bring it to you. There weren't any towels at either pool, but luckily we had brought our own. On the bright side, there was a Keurig in our room, which is my fave!

Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. Wouldn't go back. Over priced for the quality of the hotel. Hotel was very outdated and walls were paper thin. Didn't get much sleep because of the walls. The doors to the rooms didn't shut unless you slammed them so all you can hear all day/night is doors slamming. I realize they will be renovating in the fall but as of now definitely not worth the price. We also needed towels to get ready for the wedding we were in. we called to get them and they said they'd ... Read more

The reception was excellent with well trained, friendly bright staff, the new manager was proud of the renovated lobby and breakfast area, and new carpeting in the hallway and promised the rooms would be next. The indoor pool was dark and needed some more lighting. The room furnishings and mattress were tired but adequate. The first waitress at breakfast was surly (maybe she had a bad morning, but was replaced by another when the other noticed "a problem". The bill slid under my door for rapid c... Read more

We stayed for three weeks with our grandchild. We enjoyed both pools, a very nice room and wonderful staff. I would especially highlight Linda, the front office manager for excellent customer service. Anything we needed, the front office person on duty did his or her best to accommodate us. The room (we had a suite) were clean, well maintained every day and comfortable. Our only complaint was that the room was advertised as a two bed suite, which we took to mean two separate bedrooms, however, i... Read more

We were here for a wedding, and booked a suite. Having read previous reviews, I was not prepared for such a great experience. Check -in went smoothly - the suite was not enormous - BUT - it had EVERYTHING - kitchen area, ironing board and iron, PLENTY of linens and blankets - and the hotel brought up a roll-away bed for extra sleeping accommodation. When I could not figure out how to access closed captioning - a phone call to the desk brought found them sending up someone (within minutes) a... Read more

So my son was getting married at the Searles Castle and this was the neatest hotel. Well let me tell you. The service, rooms, full breakfast cafe and people were all amazing!!! The bride and groom had a mini apartment complete with sauna, hot tub, kitchen, living room and more!!! I'm totally impressed!!!

Stayed here back in August while visiting family. Room was not very clean, Linens worn. Not worth the price. Also the downstairs restaurant was very dark and the table wasn't cleaned when then sat us down. Mexican food was cold when it arrived. Better food a mile away at Ralphies Italian Food.

Got a suite at this hotel for my wedding. When we checked in the room stunk of smoke. It's a non smoking hotel ??. Fortunately they got the smell out because they only have one large suite that I had booked to get ready in for the wedding. Fast forward to nearly two weeks after the wedding and myself and all my guests that stayed there find out we've been charged TWICE for our stay. They charged everyone that weekend TWICE. I'll never stay at a holiday inn again.

My family stayed at this hotel for a mini vacation. We had no issues with the hotel at all, everything was great! The room ended up being a corner room, and was spacious enough for everyone to spread out in, and very quiet. We used the indoor pool, and unfortunately the hot tub was not open, and the pool was too cold for the adults to enter, but the kids sure had fun anyway. We found the location great for getting out to all of the areas attractions. i would like to check out the upgrades wh... Read more

This Hotel was arranged for us by the Bride & Groom, whose wedding we attended, at Searle's Castle, Windham, NH. The hotel was very nice, clean, accomaidiating & a great location to get to. Also, good for any site seeing in the area. The food at this Holiday Inn was & we have . You don't many hotel restaurants with this great of food. We stayed 2 nights for a wedding. The location is good, literally a right and a left turn off the 93 from Manchester. We had to wait 5-10 minutes to check in because the front desk had more check ins and calls from guests than could be handled by one person. When the second staff member showed, they were polite and friendly. The hotel is clearly in need of renovation which apparently is going to happen on the near future, according to the desk staff. The room looked clean, but on close inspect... Read more

Stayed here for one night for a friends wedding that was in town. Even with the room block rate I still found this hotel to be VERY expensive for a Holiday Inn and even just in general. This was an ordinary hotel with no extreme amenities so I really couldn't have seen how they justified the cost. The room was clean and the staff were nice. Breakfast is not included in the rate, so that's an added cost we weren't expecting. Not overly impressed with this hotel and would recommend you look somewh... Read more

We chose Holiday Inn as the central location for our wedding guests. Going into planning the accommodations, I didn't have vast expectations of Holiday Inn or their services. I was completely wrong. Yes, their rooms are a tad outdated, but the service level and customer service is incomparable. From start to finish they helped organize a party listing so guests could call in and reserve under our event, blocked off an after-party room, handed out welcome bags and provided excellent customer serv... I had booked over 30 rooms with this hotel for my wedding at Atkinson Country Club. I did it here because it was inexpensive and the closest hotel to the venue. What a bad choice... If you are getting married there, please go the extra 5 miles to Andover and pick an updated, clean, more customer oriented hotel. As a bride, providing 30 rooms revenue to this property, I was not acknowledged by the desk upon check in, my guest welcome bags were not given out, I had to pay full price for my room, t... The Holiday Inn Salem was a wonderful overnight stay. Beautiful big lobby with extremely helpful staff. The room I stayed in was big and smelled nice. Plenty of linens in the bathroom and the room was already set at a nice temperature when I walked in. The Hotel was quiet all night and the cleaning service even honored our late check out. 5 stars would stay again
