Homewood Suites by Hilton was very impressive at first impression: clean, nicely decorated, beautiful grounds and truly pet friendly. But, water pressure was near zero not exaggerating. The room wasn't cleaned by 415PM on day 2 of 3. The way the bed was made was downright diabolical: we couldn't figure out the sheets and blanket arrangement!! And the pillows, sorry: just awful. So, 3 stars. But too bad cuz with some rather minor attention the rating could go to 4 easily. And don't know about y... Read more

We took a couples retreat to beautiful Portsmouth. We were able to stay at the Homewood Suites near downtown. The hotel is in great shape, very nice design. Super clean. We got back to the hotel late, there was a lady who was cleaning in the lobby and a gentleman, Jason, who was behind the counter. We got some snacks and he helped us decide on dinner for the following night. He knew the area and took the time out of what he was doing to help us decide. A brief review for a brief stay. We arrived by Uber to the Homewood Suites. Joshua Rose, at the front desk, was very helpful and accommodating to my rowdy group of friends. He went out of his way to assure we had a good time, and a comfortable stay. He went above and beyond, and really made me feel special on my birthday, with a handwritten card! I called the front desk again in the morning to arrange for a taxi. Josh again helped us, and arranged for a free shuttle to bring us to our car. The ... Read more

This hotel advertises "suites" and delivers a room with a pull out couch. They claim to have a shuttle service but the whole wedding party had to drive to the wedding (no shuttle available). This was our second stay here, and we were even more pleased this time around. Everyone was exceptionally helpful & friendly, from the front desk, to housekeeping, and everyone in between. An added bonus this time around ,was they changed their whole color scheme around, from carpets, wallpaper, curtains, lamps, furniture, you name it. It is very soothing and pleasing to the eye. The location is perfect with shopping and restaurants , gas stations, all nearby. All in all ,a great place for a getaway... Read more

Nice clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Kitchen was great, but not well stocked as far as utensils, pots, pans, etc. Nice indoor pool. Decent breakfast. Dinner lacked variety, but since free, you can't be too picky.

Location was nice and quiet. Breakfast was ok but it's hot and free but eggs were rubbery. Nice pool. The room was spacious and priced as well as other hotels that had smaller rooms. I'm still not understanding bed sizes in hotels. But the problem came at sleep, the pillows were horrible and the a/c was extremely noisy. We may stay agin but I would bring my own pillows.

We stayed here for five nights in late September and had a wonderful time. Our room was great with a full (and well-stocked) kitchen. There is a full breakfast offered each day, which had a great selection of healthy (and not so healthy!) options. During the week, there is a "happy hour" with a variety of snacks, beer, and wine. (It can be as hearty as you wish to make it). The exercise room is small but adequate. The pool looked lovely. The hotel is a bit of a trip from downtown Portsmout... Read more

Let me begin with the only possible negative, which could be a positive. This hotel sits back off the main street in sort of a cul de sac. This means it is very peaceful, but not accessible without a car, although there is a hotel shuttle which will drive you around Portsmouth. The Service is outstanding, the hotel clean, and the experience wonderful and safe. The pool(saltwater) is refreshing, clean, and has plenty of light, although there is no hot tub. Overall, this hotel is well worth th... Read more

This was a beautifully decorated hotel tucked away off the main road. No views, but not needed as all entertainment down the street in downtown Portsmouth. Breakfast was good every morning! Would definitely stay here again.

The room was pretty nice and well laid-out. I was really looking for a kitchen to keep the costs of the trip down and ease the burden of dietary restrictions. Staff was friendly and the room was clean when we got there and every evening. The breakfast was adequate, I've never been a big fan of the reconstituted "scrambled eggs" but since I already paid for it, I felt obligated to have something at breakfast. And I've slept on more comfortable beds, it was just a bit firm for my liking. Overa... Read more

This hotel is tucked in the woods off I-95 so area is very quiet. Our room was king size bed with separate sitting/tv/kitchenette area. Perfect for us. When we first arrived there was a long line up for checking in. There was a wedding and alot of people were checking in at once. They could have used a second person at the main desk. Some of the customers were getting mean to the woman behind the desk. She called for backup and the were very accomodating. The breakfast in the morning was... Read more

We just recently visited Portsmouth NH and stayed again at the Homewood Suites. The personnel at this hotel are excellent we especially like to recognize Cindy and Gilbert who worked that night in the dining room. The hotel offers a light fare dining Monday thru Thursday including beer and wine. They were so pleasant and so efficient they seemed to really enjoy their job and wanted everyone to enjoy their evening. The hotel is so beautifully laid out and comfortable The only problem we had was... Read more

Rented a 1 bedroom suite for a weekend getaway. Loved not being in the heart of everything but a very short drive to downtown. The suite was very clean and having a cooktop, refrigerator and diswasher were an added bonus. The hotel is very well decorated and the staff are all super nice. The pool is nice and clean. The morning breakfasts were par for the course but good choices and helped get the day off to a start. I'll definitely keep this in mind for the next visit to this area.

We went to visit our daughter at UNH for the weekend and chose to stay here. We were so impressed with the quiet setting of the hotel yet its very convenient to downtown Portsmouth and only 15 minutes to UNH. The lobby and breakfast area are spacious and great. The rooms are modern, large, comfortable and super clean. The desk staff were all helpful and friendly.

I stayed at this location earlier in the year and wasn't disappointed this trip. I LOVE having a kitchen in my room. The evening social is great with different fare every night. Plus the staff is friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be back to this place!

My husband and I appreciated our two night stay at the Homewood Suites. Easy access, comfortable, clean room/hotel, and helpful staff. Complimentary meals (breakfast and supper) were tasty and well done. We particularly appreciated the meal on Monday eve because we were tired from traveling. The meal provided us the opportunity to stay in the hotel rather than look for a place to eat when we were so tired. Great place to stay.
