Double queen room was small, but very clean and functional. Included breakfast was more than adequate. This property is undergoing renovation, so expect some disruptions (someone was sanding the walls in the room next door to ours at 7 in the morning - luckily, we were already up). Very close to University of New Hampshire, which was the reason for our visit.

2 minutes from UNH. Perfect if you are visiting. Very clean room and bathroom. The beds were very confortable and you have 2 choices of pillows which is nice. The hotel is undergoing renovation but we didn't really notice anything. Very friendly staff. Wi-Fi works well. Breakfast as expected.

Durham is a great New England town with lots of historical charm. Our first choice for accommodations here was completely booked so we opted to stay at this Holiday Inn. We found it to be tidy and comfortable. The bed was great - I slept really well on it and there was no late night noise in the hallway. The breakfast was standard continental fare - nothing special, but we didn't have high expectations beforehand. The Wi-Fi worked great. Our only complaint was the cost. We thought it was a bit... Our room had a clean and comfortable bed and clean towels. The room was tired overall and had some stains on lampshades and the phone. It needs a really good deep clean... My room was next to the exit door which was noisy in the early morning when people checked left...

There aren't very many options for hotels in Durham, which is odd because it's a college town. This motel was clean and comfortable enough, and the area seemed safe. It's an easy walk to Main Street and to campus. Breakfast was about what you expect -- a few cold options and a few hot options. A plus was that coffee/tea/hot chocolate were available all day, and there were cookies in the lobby in the evening. The staff members were friendly. It was, however, much more expensive than I'd expect fo... Read more

Overall a nice stay at the HI Express Durham this past week. Was up there with my dad to take my son to his Freshmen Orientation at UNH. Parking lot is pretty tight, so I was glad to be able to get a space early, otherwise I'd have difficulty parking my full-sized Ford F350 crew cab in the lot. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Nice and quiet up there. Looked newly renovated. Refrigerator, microwave and flat screen TV. Bathrooms were clean. My only complaint was at the breakfast buffett. ... Read more

I needed to stay in Durham for a graduation and had to bring my Jack Russell,Sugar. They were wonderful to us both. The room is basic but clean..the rug was old and torn, not as clean but maybe that was do to it being a "dog friendly" room. The mattress was perfect and the bed comfortable.Easy to walk Sugar and they were nice about the few times I needed to leave her crated.I would recommend this hotel to a dog owner.

The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the church and a 2 minute walk from the reception. Very convenient to downtown and UNH. Room was spotless and quiet. Staff was welcoming and accommodating. The manager seemed to be around a lot and he checked me in. Kait checked me out. Couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast was just right. Don't let the renovation project keep you away. No bother at all.

This is really a very average basic hotel. I'm not understanding all of the "great" ratings. The parking is poor. The front desk is indifferent. The hallways are dated (with no A/C). The rooms are dark with small basic bathrooms, a decent TV and single cup coffee maker (which was fine). The sink is essentially in the room, not the bathroom, making it difficult for families to use overnight. The shower was clean, but with light water pressure and very basic amenities. The bed was comfor... Read more

Stayed here for a wedding and loved it! Keys were waiting for us at the front desk and check in was super easy. The room was very well put together - not just clean but comfortable and homey. Included a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker along with the iron we needed to press clothes before the wedding. It was centrally located at the center of town within easy walking distance (.5 miles) to various eating places, and the town itself is easy to walk through, even at night. We enjoyed... Read more

Very clean, and comfortable. My friend and I stayed overnight following a mud run event and found it to be very comfortable and accommodating. I liked the extended breakfast time and later checkout on Sunday. Beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, bedding was exceptionally clean. Check in was a little lengthy and could have been streamlined as there was line when we arrived.

I had a room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean, the bath was clean, the linens were fresh. Everything was in order and functional. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Flat screen TV and fridge. Iron and board. Free parking, free breakfast. Overall it was a very good experience, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

You need to keep an eye out for this hotel as you are driving into town because it does not have a typical Holiday Inn Express appearance. It looks more like a condo complex from the outside and the signage is limited. Once you locate the place and step inside it is very nice and won't disappoint. The rooms are big and very clean. The breakfast is standard fare but presented well. The staff is friendly and helpful. The workout room is beat up and limited. Parking, too, is limited and cramped as ... Read more

Rooms are extremely clean! Free breakfast was nice, get there by 9 am for hot food! Greatest aspect is that it is within walking distance from University of New Hampshire!Suite 323 was very clean & very nice, plenty of room - total cost was $282.00 for the one night stay in a "suite" but as it was move in day for UNH, I could not be happier to be so close! Room was a little loud from the outside traffic but after an 8 hour ride in from NJ I did not even notice until morning. This was our 4th ... Read more

We stayed a bunch of nights at this hotel, when we were having issues with our apartment in a nearby town, we stayed in probably 4 different rooms over the 5 days we ended up there. I had heard good things about it as I have some friends who attend UNH whose parents have stayed here. The front desk was friendly, but awfully strict with there rules. The hallways were very HOT no a/c and very dated. I think the bathrooms have been updated? but i thought they were way to small. Like if your up an g... Read more

The building can sneak up on you due to a small sign and an exterior remodel that makes it look like a condo/townhouse complex. The employee I talked to said this was to keep it in line with the town's aesthetic. The parking lot is small, and you have to be careful to not park in the spaces meant for the actual townhouses around the building. It is within walking distance to UNH and a short drive from Dover/Portsmouth. Room was fine, and they actually offered me a choice of floor, something I've... Read more

Almost all the good things we come to expect from HI Express. The staff was cordial--at the desk, in the halls, on the elevator. Within easy distance of a number of eateries to choose from. Room was comfortable, as usual. Only drawback, and why I rate it only very good, is that the room, meant to accommodate at least four, had only one sink. That's a bit of a drawback in this era.

Stayed here for UNH Homecoming weekend. Found the facility and the room very clean, comfortable & within walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants etc.. The bed was clean & comfortable. The ac/heat & TV all worked fine. The free breakfast was good with a lot of choices. The staff are all hard working & friendly. The sink is not in the bathroom it's in the room. This didn't bother us at all. Everything was perfect except 1 thing. We were awakened early by a loud banging sound. It kept hap... Read more

Durham New Hampshire is a pretty place and the Holiday Inn express is a nice property but what gives it five stars is the people. I can single out Joannie who was very helpful to me today but I really want to talk about the last two times I was a guest. Absolutely every person I interacted with went above and beyond. I never needed anything particularly challenging but each time I had a need it was more than met. If University of New Hampshire has a hospitality program the staff at 2 Main Stre... Read more

Very nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Durham. Extremely friendly staff. He place was spotless, beds comfortable, lacked nothing. We were here for a college visit, and as an alum I remember this spot used to be a garage that used to gouge me for car repairs, lol. They had ample parking, but it is close enough you could walk to everything on campus if you wanted to. We were exhausted when we got there, and they provided us a list of restaurants that delivered. Can't think of one reason ... Read more

Very late arrival for two nights for short visit to UNH. Check in was fast. Room was comfortable temperature for sleeping and clean. Bedding is reasonably comfortable. Sink area and associated counter space is small, especially if sharing the room and more than one needs to get ready at a time. Shower worked fine. Did not eat at the free breakfast. Check out was also very fast. Best is location, which is easy walk to UNH. A basic hotel that meets needs for cleanliness, reasonable sleep,... Read more

We decided to stop in late at night while traveling. The staff at check-in were extremely pleasant. We had the same experience with the morning crew. The hotel is undergoing some renovations, but we found the hotel to be clean and well-kept. A good night's sleep!
