The people at the front desk were very friendly. We were informed about the construction and there was a letter in the room with some chocolates that also told us about it. However, we slept peacefully and didn't hear anything all morning. We chose the room with one queen bed. The room was clean and spacious. All in all it was a nice time and within walking distance to the Capital Center for the Arts.

I stayed here a few times 2014-2015 for business. I wintered over here for the blizzard of 2015. Staff was courteous and friendly. Building was old and needed updates. Room was clean. Cable TV was OK. Located downtown Concord, lots of restaurants and bars you can walk to. Restaurant/bar in the hotel is hit or miss. No free breakfast, I recommend seeking out a Waffle House, Duncan Doughnuts or McDonalds for breakfast.

Came for a conference. They had given my room away weeks after I had reserved it with no good explanation. The front desk person was not very nice and only found me a room after I asked for a manager. I was xompletwly panicked. Ended up on the 2nd floor. The first night I was awakened at 2:00 by a screaming domestic. Had to call front desk and it was not handled very safely. The whole second floor smells strongly of food and garlic from the restaurant below. You cant open the window and I ... Read more

Stayed at the Holiday Inn for a recent work conference. The hotel is dated, but they are in the midst of a renovation. I was fortunate to stay in one of the newly remodeled rooms, so all of the furnishings were updated and new. The bed was quite comfortable. However, the renovation looks like it was done without much planning or attention to detail. For example, the bathroom installation, while using new materials, looked like it was done hastily. The bathroom vanity is an open design, but the... Read more

OK, so the hotel is under reservation. The room we had felt new and clean, and we had a nice view, and the hotel is conveniently located downtown. However, renovations were underway on our floor, meaning no art on the wall (I don't really care about that) and there's no floor covering in the hall, just bare cement. Worst of all, there was a large gap between the bottom of the door and the floor that let in very bright light from the hallway, making the room to bright for sleeping in, so we had t... Read more

I've stayed here twice in the last year. The first was for 5 days in July 2015 while I was taking a two-day exam and the second was in May 2016 for a brief one night stay. The first stay was great - no complaints. I kept the do not disturb sign on my door for the most part and was definitely not disturbed. There was a brief issue with waiting for the elevator on one of the exam days, I suspect so many people were staying in the hotel and trying to get the elevator at the same time. Overall gre... I read the negative reviews on the construction but booked it anyway. I a glad I did! The staff were friendly and truly cared about my stay. I booked a 2nd night while I was there and I would go back! The front desk stay greeted me each time I enter or left. The staff in the cafe we efficient and fun. The completed remodel is very well done. My room was like brand new. Ignore the negative comments!

We stayed at this hotel for about a week and a half when we first came to Concord. Aside from the manager and the cleaning staff, who were kind and considerate, several of the young ladies at the desk were quite rude and disrespectful. It left a bad taste in my mouth, because everyone else we encountered here were great. We stayed again last week, and one of those young ladies had the nerve to ask us, in front of another guest, about our personal situation and housing status. It was highly embar... Read more

We stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. In each instance, there was good availability and we were able to arrive late and find a room. The rooms were clean and did not feel cramped, and the staff was courteous and prompt with deliveries of forgotten toiletries. There is construction ongoing at the front of the hotel, but this did not cause disruptions.

Recent renovation looks good but needed fine tuning. Nice size room with couch but I had cold air blowing on me all night because the bed is placed next to the a/c unit (not updated, a bit noisy) by window. Excess light in hall combined with high door gap creates the need for an extra towel unless you want the room lit all night

I've stayed in Holiday Inns before in different cities and always considered them mediocre hotels that are mostly dated. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived here to find that our room was recently remodeled and beautiful. Beds were super comfy with lots of pillows. The front desk staff was super friendly and checkin was a breeze. Highly recommend this place!

Simple comfortable stay. Friendly staff! The building was being renovated and we were lucky enough to stay in a nice new room. Will book again when I return to Concord. Nice and close to Capital building and downtown. Good restaurants nearby.

Great front desk staff and hotel renovations are almost complete. Quiet and large rooms, free parking, and located downtown. The adjoining restaurant was below average for food quality at breakfast. And here are some extra words because Tripadvisor wants at least 200 characters.

The hotel is being renovated but looks like the inside is almost done. But they are still doing some construction outside so you might hear some drilling in the morning. Our room was fresh and brand new. Decor is pretty and the front desk staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely will stay there again if I need to.

Stayed for a night on our way up to the White Mountain region. Pros: -Friendly staff to greet us at the front desk. -Clean room -Nice bed, although the pillows weren't my style and I woke up a few times to readjust them. My wife, however, slept like a baby. -Great location. Easy access to the highways and the restaurants of downtown Concord. Cons: -Made a reservation through the Holiday Inn website for a King Executive, but they placed us in a Double Queen. They were nice to switch us, but th... Read more

Despite lower prices at other comparable sites ,went with h.i. Due to downtown proximity and high loyalty program. Not disappointed, room refresh came out well. New alarm on door not locked initially irritating but actually a nice safety feature as well as peephole cover (the Erin Andrews factor?)...nice quiet sleep once late arrivals and drinkers quiet down but stairwell doors need adjustments so they don't slam so loud. I am an avid Volkssporter, and I have a goal to walk in all 51 capital cities. It just so happens that the start point for the Concord Capitol Volksmarch started at this hotel! When I pulled into the parking lot, I was afraid they'd be booked, but luckily I was able to get a room. Lots of construction inside and out, and parking was tight. I didn't dare leave my parking spot! This hotel is just within blocks of the state capitol building, and the main street with lots of shops and eating establi... Read more

Stayed here while hotel undergoing renovations! Room was typical HI and clean! We stayed in room 435! Unfortunately some VERY rude guests trashed the lobby sitting on furniture in wet swimsuits and leaving towels everywhere but front desk staff apologetic and had it cleaned up! Still have some things to do in rooms too!! Easy walk to excellent restaurant!

The hotel undergoing refurbishment so on arrival you fear the worst but was pleasantly surprised once checked in, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the location of the Hotel was within walking distance of the restaurants and shops. We arrived on Sunday and most of the shops in Concord were closed.

I was here on business for a week, came in on Sunday and left on Friday. As many of the other reviews mention, they are undergoing a pretty good sized renovation right now, this however did not impact my stay as I thought it might. The contractors were very respectful of the guests as if they were actual employees of the hotel itself. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is going under renovation, but still not the experience was excellent. We stayed on the second floor and the room you can noticed that is was remodeled. The bed was awesome. We didn't sow the pool this time so I will not comment about it. One only issue that I had was that I booked the room almost 11 months in advance and the week... Read more

I stayed here on a Tuesday night, just before Thanksgiving. The hotel was not crowded and I enjoyed a good sleep. Check in (I had prepaid on-line) was quick and I was hit with no extra charges. The WiFi worked well, and the bed was just the right degree of firmness. I did not take breakfast in the restaurant but walked downtown, where I found a cozy coffee shop. My husband and I stayed here two nights while visiting family. This is located right downtown. Many shops and restaurants/bars are within walking distance. Our room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff friendly. Although they had signage posted about their construction - we never saw it (or heard it). We didn't eat at the restaurant or use any of the facilities so I cannot speak to that. I would definitely stay again.
