Spent one night at this hotel during a roadtrip from Chicago to the Bay Area. Made the reservation using the Holiday Inn iPhone app while on the road. Rate confirmed on app was $4 less than what I was charged. I've found this a continual problem with the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express apps. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and competent. Room was larger than usual, typical of an older hotel, and comfortable. Rooms look to have a recent freshen-up, but bathrooms starting t... The room itself was clean and comfortable. That's where it ends. When we went down for breakfast at 9:00 the restaurant was closed up & the front desk told us they " closed 45 minutes early" because no one was there at the time... Really?... The walls are paper thin. We were awakened by arguing next door. Next, the maid banged our door with her vacuum. TV volume went up & down by itself. We are Platinum members so we're at HI frequently. This visit was bad. Sorry.

Easily 5 stars. Everything as advertised and even better than expected. We wanted something away from downtown and this location is perfect. Close to a variety of dining. Jenny at the front desk gave us 5 star service. Thanks for everything Jenny. One of the best hotel choices I ever made.

Average Motel with a lot of rooms but not your average price, very over rated and very over priced. This motel caters to local businesses and airlines, so the front desk clerks center on those customers and not you the average customers. I stood in line waiting my turn for a room while the two desk clerks allowed airline employees to budge in front of me. The weather was bad and I was tired or I would have left when that happened. I won't come back, the Comfort Inn down the road is as good as th... Read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel one night on the way to Lake Tahoe. Location is easy to get to (right off I-80) and convenient to downtown Reno. The hotel is well maintained, clean and has plenty of free parking. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the rooms are good size. Try to get one up high facing east for a good view of the mountains. The rooms could use more outlets and you can hear some interstate noise in the west side rooms, but it's not bad. Suggest a drive through... Read more

My daughter and I recently traveled with her two cats from Southern California to Idaho and stayed overnight in Reno. I had some difficulty initially finding a hotel that accepted cats, even though hotels advertised themselves as being "pet-friendly". I guess "pets" only includes dogs! The staff of the Holiday Inn was super-nice. The hotel was cool, attractive and extremely clean. Pricing was reasonable and they only charged a $25 pet fee per room. Much better than the $75 I've experienced... Read more

I have stayed here a few times. The rooms are clean and the food for breakfast is always ready early. When upgrades are available they hook me up. Will continue to stay here when I am in town. Close to several good food options as well. Parking is great at this location as well.

Have been travelling from the east coast to Reno with my daughter and husband who are moving to the area. I am a rewards club member so have chosen to stay in holiday inns all along the route. This is by far the worst. The rooms are ok, ac extremely noisy and wifi keeps loosing signal. We were tired after 5 days of travelling so decided to eat in the onsite restaurant. The food was not good, over cooked meat , cold fries and bad desserts. Very limited drinks menu and after serving one glas... Read more

It's a nice hotel, the renovation is looking good. They could a better a/can system in the rooms. But otherwise a nice place to stay. The front desk was courteous as was the shuttle driver. If you're a truck driver they offer cdl discounts, take comcheks, pick you up and bring you back to area repair shops.

At the front desk they were very accommodating and helpfull. We booked on points and we got a nice quiet room on the 9th floor. We had a nice view of the city. The room was clean. It was equipped with a fridge and microwave. They don't have complimentary breakfast but they have a nice restaurant. The entrance and common areas are wide and clean. The rooms was more on the older side, but clean and spacious. They have self laundry. Only 1 Washer and dryer located on the 9th floor. They have c... Read more

I joined up with a friend's family road trip in Reno. I booked a room here on points. The room was nice, clean, comfy and quiet. The location is convenient and the hotel offers and airport shuttle - though I forgot about it and took an Uber. :-) Free parking. Easily accessible.

We spent a night here while heading cross country and slept well. We were supposed to have breakfast included in our stay and I had booked a room for three adults so was surprised when the clerk said that breakfast was only for two people. You actually get a voucher for $10 per person for their restaurant and with coffee and juice you could already have over half your breakfast money gone and breakfast entrees start at $8, so I wouldn't really call this breakfast included! We spent the rest o... Read more

They have signs in place indicating the beginning of an upgrade that is certainly needed; there was no evidence that the upgrade had commenced. The hotel has nine floors and two elevators that worked efficiently and smoothly. I never had to wait long after calling the elevator. I also found the hotel to be very quiet and did not hear much from any other occupants. I was not on the top floor and there were children in a room two doors down that were enjoying the hotel experience! I am very... Read more

Respectable place, has a pool, a restaurant and a bar, a laundry place, gym and also good parking. There is a Mexican food place next door and Denny's next to it so food is close by.rooms are fairly spacey. There is no free breakfast available with the room which is a drag.

Fun and easy check in. I say fun because I am mom, I went with my daughter her boyfriend and close friend! They joke around ALOT. Saying I was the friends date! Beds are comfy, rooms clean, we got the top floor, I had a large corner room with a king bed. I do suggest a larger TV in the center of the chest ! That TV is very small, for the size of the room and bed. Shower was great! It was hot August nights, and I have to say that the price was good for the weekend. We took Uber into downtown a... We were passing thru Reno for the night and needed a pet friendly hotel. We wanted to stay at the Nugget, however, they do not accept pets anymoreū??? We stay a lot at Holiday Inns and have enjoyed the nice rooms and breakfast. Usually at a reasonable price. Our first impression of this hotel was, the lobby smelled bad. The staff was friendly though. The room was ok, no refrig, no microwave ,the air conditioner was really loud. Most of all no breakfast, no coffee and cookies ! This was also the ... Read more

I'm a loyal holiday inn customer and have had good experience with the hotels on this 2 week road trip we've been on. This hotel was nice and bright and has more than the usual amenities like a ballroom and conference rooms. Check in was easy and we got the location of room that I wanted. The beds, sheets and towels were ample. The wifi is spotty. It would connect very poorly and, more often than not, I was using my data plan. The shower drained very slowly so that water would accumulate at you... Read more

This property is an older Holiday Inn but it appears that the rooms have at least been updated as the décor wasn't outdated. The room was decent sized, the bed and linens were nice and the bathroom was modest but clean. No fan in the bathroom though. Other reviewers complained of noise on the freeway side of the building. Our room faced the back parking lot so we weren't bothered by noise. View of trucking companies, rail yard and the roofs of industrial buildings not that appealing, but nicer ... Read more

My husband and I are IHG Platinum members. We travel often and almost always stay at a Holiday Inn/Express. We come to Reno many times a year and typically stay at the Holiday Inn Reno near the airport, and we are always upgraded there. I had enough points to cover a night stay at the Sparks location this time. We decided to try it out. Upon arriving, we instantly had problems as the front desk could not locate our 2 night reservations and insisted that we had not pre-paid and they required pa... Read more

I was skeptical staying here because of the reviews and I am not normally a Holiday Inn fan because they are one of the oldest hotel chains and they don't usually build new ones unless they are Holiday Inn Expresses. However, I am an IHG member and was working at a nearby site and gave it a shot. This hotel has 9 floors and I stayed on the 7th floor in a King Suite and it was very clean and nice. Probably the fastest and smoothest elevators I have been in and I stay in hotels 100 nights per year... Read more

We often stay at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels and like the service and amenities, especially the hot breakfasts and coffee. This particular hotel was disappointing. We were on an upper floor and there wasn't a complimentary breakfast. The room was average in all respects and overlooked the rooftops of nearby buildings.
