I chose this hotel to stay at while in the Reno area, because it is located in nearby Sparks, away from the rundown downtown area of Reno, which has become quite bad in the past number of years. The location of the Nugget is very convenient, right on the freeway, with easy access to other casinos, and the roads to Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Virginia City. It is also very close to the Legends outlet mall for great shopping. The hotel itself is well priced, and one of the better buys. However, ... Read more

Found a great rate and the room was nice. Was in the West wing 5th floor. Advise not to take room on highway side. Even on the 5th floor the noise level didn't afford me much sleep, but the bed was very comfortable. About 10 minutes to the airport when you have to be there at 4:30 in the morning!

We really liked this resort hotel in Reno. Our room was on the 25th floor and it was huge, had a massive flat screen TV. coffee maker in the room which is not always t he cases big resort hotels. The room was clean, we think it was remodelled, although the decoration was not to our taste - lots flowers on the wallpaper and carpet....we had breakfast in one of their Cafe, very good and reasonably priced. Included car parking and wifi as well. Reno as city is a bit of hole, but good base to Lake T... Read more

Go and stay somewhere else!!!!I was in Reno for a convention two weeks ago that was being held at the casino and I am less than impressed. It was a 5 night stay WITHOUT air conditioning!! The entire hotel/casino was HOT, the entire 6 days I was there. It was so uncomfortable. We would have gone somewhere else but I was attending a convention there at the casino all weekend and needed to be onsite. There is no excuse for a place this big to be without air conditioning for any amount of time. You ... Read more

It was an ok place to stay, the hotel was big, average room and service. 15 mins drive to downtown. The buffet was average, not a lot of variety, they charged more on Friday night but they didn't advertise that.

The hotel smells like cigarette smoke in all common areas. Service varies. I did have a good check in experience, however, they asked if we wanted a $10 hotel credit for not having our room cleaned during our two night stay. It's a hotel, right? There is no room service menu in the room. You have to call and have it brought to you. Once you get it, then they tell you it will be at least an hour for your order. I came to this hotel in a bit of a crisis and the help and compassion I received from all areas of the hotel property blew me away! I cannot wait to get back on my feet and come tip accordingly. Mountains were moved, help was given by every area from the shuttle drivers, the bartender in the bar monday tuesday nights at bar by the front desk area, the girls at the front desk, the amazingly kind girls at the Starbucks and the bell men as well. We enjoyed the Nugget. Pros: loved the room, spacious, hair dryer, coffee maker, fitness facility, pool, clean and comfortable beds. Cons: Ice makers on several floors didn't work so had to go searching for ice. Went to Rosie's cafe and it took forever to be served. Went to the buffet which was expensive and not a lot of choices. Not worth the money in my opinion. All in all it was a good stay and we would stay again just wouldn't eat at the hotel. Starbucks was good and convenient.

Was there to see our grandsons baseball games and a mini get away. Had a great time and liked the casino. My room was comfy and big for the price we paid.. The beds were also big and comfy. Food at the buffet was good for the price. Enjoyed the midnight steak and eggs special at Rosie's cafe. Plenty of parking and felt safe all the time we were there. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Nugget for one evening on the way to someplace else, because I saw a "deal" online. It was 30 dollars for the room, but then you end up paying about 20 dollars more in taxes. Still, that's not a bad price. I'm not a gambler so I can't speak to that part of it, but the room was not very comfortable. The fan was super loud, and the pillows were half-sized and uncomfortable. First of all this hotel is not in Reno, it's in Sparks about 2-3 miles or a $40 return taxi ride. It is a self contained resort in its own right with a reasonable amount to offer in terms of bars, coffee shops and eating options. It's near shopping outlets too, so has more going for it. However when I went to check in I was treated with such indifference that it left a very bad first impression. I stay here when I'm in Reno visiting family. So convenient. Moments after taking the exit off the freeway....I am handing my keys to a valet. Gave them 3 stars last time for various issues. This stay was better. Room large and comfortable. Parking close still a challenge but found west parking lot is most convenient. (East parking is a tower) As said before, restaurant/gambling/lobby area too warm and stuffy. As with most casino hotels, too much smoking smell but room was fine. My wife and I were meeting people in Lake Tahoe and had a couple of days to wait. our travel agent suggested the Nugget and it was a deal. Casino is nice and clean. Pay the extra and get in the EAST tower, it was only a $15 bump, and it was well worth it. We found that their Seafood restaurant, Oyster bar, was EXCELLENT! Initially booked to stay one night but stayed for 2 as we liked it so much. Such good value for money, with decent restaurants in the hotel. Great view from the 16th floor room. Hotel is sandwiched between freeway and railway tracks but could not hear anything inside room. It is located on the outskirts of Reno, a couple of freeway stops from downtown but this wasn't a problem for me as I had a car.

Stayed here one night, didn't really visit the casino since we were just here because of the proximity to RNO airport. But the rates were very reasonable and the rooms were huge and clean. This place has really, really ugly old furnishings and flowery wall paper in the rooms, but it was very clean and the main facilities are nice and much more modern.
