A multitude of minor issues added up to place this hotel only in the average category. From a lumpy mattress (should be replaced), poor TV quality and reception, to missing breakfast vouchers, inoperative gym equipment, cool pool and sour cream for the coffee maker, while minor, aren't issues we have experienced at other Hilton Garden Inns. The high point was dinner, where the bartender/server provided excellent service and the food was good.

The rooms were your average hotel room. Nice indoor pool and front counter staff was nice. The breakfast lady (short blonde hair) was as rude as it gets. Practically refused to make us omelets or other fresh breakfast as indicated by menu. Hot water in the rooms ran out by the 3rd shower and the beds were terrible. This is my first bad review of a Hilton hotel ever.

It is in a great location with easy walking access to food and refreshments. There is a Starbucks across the street for morning coffee, and several quick and easy meal options. There is also a trail that connects to a pond that is nice for a run or a walk.

It's your typical HGI layout. The rooms were clean and nice. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. I couldn't get into the pool for some reason, never checked with the staff about it though. Not sure what was going on on the floor above me, either a very heavy walker or the floor/ceiling construction was poor (or a little of both)! I still don't care for HGI's breakfast deal $12 plus tax and tip, I walked over to Mickey D's instead. Embassy Suites has the best breakfast and it's free. Prob... Read more

Hotel really needs updated. Walls were in bad shape. See pic of horrible wall patch around an electrical outlet. Doors opened into each other and very worn due to they had hit each other a lot. Room was also very dark and yellow. Weirdest thing I have ever seen is this sensor by the door (see pic). I still do not know for sure what it is for but the install was horrible! It definitely had me worried. I went and asked the front desk what it was and the gentlemen stated he thinks it is part of th... Read more

I wish I had found the nature-filled walk behind the hotel before the last day of our stay. The hotel should play-up this bit of wild Nevada right on their backyard. Duckss, geese, songbirds...just beautiful. We were in last minute, as my father took ill suddenly. Reno was pretty much booked up due to a huge snowstorm, and whole town full of snowboarders. So we didn't have much choice. Close to the airport, and really close to Mt. Rose highway (the road to Lake Tahoe) We stayed four nig... Read more

I usually do my homework before booking a room, but this was a last minute stop. I booked the room and later looked at the reviews on TripAdvisor. Nice hotel but we require a functioning pool where we stay. The pool water was so cold during our stay that it made me believe it was not heated at all. The hot tub was drained and nasty looking. May return but only if advertised amenities are functioning.

Have stayed here alot in the past. It has a great walking path around a nearby pond which I enjoy. On this visit, I noticed that the carpet in my room was soiled and the carpet outside the elevators were really dirty. Some of the tiles inside the elevator were cracked and the walls were marked. Yes, it's just a Hilton, but it's somehow nicer than most run-of-the-mill hotels. The lobby is a place I actually liked spending time. And, above all, there were no slot machines. Thanks god. The people running the bar and restaurant were fine to deal with but is that just Nevada or this hotel in particular?
