Tropicana is a good solid mid range hotel. Not the most flash and certainly not as upmarket as the Wynn. However it's a good compromise between ridiculously expensive and just too cheap and tatty. The pool is fantastic and as the location is at the airport end of the strip, it's much more chilled. Not on top of a roof with Calvin Harris playing. Very relaxed and down to earth vibe so you don't feel you need to be flashy there. You can just relax. Not the right hotel for someone wanting a flash b... Read more

Stopped into Vegas for a quick overnight. The Tropicana was a perfect fit to get in and out. They have renovated the rooms since I have stayed with them, and they did a pretty good job with them. The checkin process was speedy and you do get the hot cookie as a reward! The room was comfortable and fairly spacious. I would stay with them again.

Who says what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Here‚??s a lengthy and rather detailed review of my 4-day/3-night stay at the Tropicana earlier this week. There were lots of little details that I couldn‚??t find when I was doing my pre-trip research so I tried to include them here. Hope it helps and isn‚??t TMI. THE LOCATION As the review title suggests, this was my first trip to Vegas, and when I was planning it I was very torn between the Tropicana and the Flamingo, as my priorities were olds... Read more

This is a good mid range hotel. It is conveniently located to use the WAX bus from the airport. We rented a car about a mile down Tropicana which saved about 30% on the rental rate. Used the local bus to retrieve the car. Stayed in the bungalows which was convenient for loading our stuff into the rental car for a trip out of town.

Great location. Casino was small compared to others.Room was on the other side of the property.Took about 6 minutes to get to the the front of the casino.Room could have been cleaner. Found hair in the shower that was not mine. Overall great location on the strip. Easy to get to the airport.

Tropicana is one of the older hotels in the area. Rooms are nice, but nothing special. Pool area is fun. Casino area has a nice selection of slots. Small food court. Definitely go see "Raiding the Rock Vault" - it is a great show.

Room only would get to 72 degrees. In June in the desert definitely not cool enough. Shower was dirty and would not drain. Even worse = the pool. The pool bar would not give a cup of water...wanted to charge $6! It's 110 degrees and in the middle of the desert come on people!!!The best they would do was a cup of ice and had to walk to the water fountain WAY on the other side of the pool. Last call was 5:15 when pool closed at 6pm. Seriously. Good thing not in Vegas for the hotel experience. Will... Read more

I stayed at the Tropicana three times in the past three weeks. The rooms were clean, neat and properly finished. They are bright and cheery (a product of that South Beach look), and my rooms were large. Service was great. All the employees greeted me as I walked by. It made it feel very friendly. I read the other very positive reviews that indicated that their room was recently renovated. I'm just saying that the rooms we stayed in at the beginning of our Trafalgar trip and the end of the tour were not renovated and simply not clean. Old is fine, but there were obvious crumbs on the floor and bathroom sink. The shower drain in both rooms was very slow resulting in ankle deep water. Needless to say we were quite disappointed.

This hotel is old, run down, with poorly decorated rooms that look nothing like the photos in the website. For the price, you can do a lot better on the strip. The Tropicana is a good hotel for the money. The location is a big plus. It's located at the same intersection as Excalibur, MGM, and New York New York. The casino and lobby areas were kept clean and nice. The rooms were pretty standard hotel rooms. The Paradise Towers are the closest towers to the Casino floor, which is important because we were traveling with a family member that for medical reasons has difficulty walking long distances. I made sure to include in the website notes that we required a room near the elevators on a low floor. When we arrived at the Tropicana, Olivia at the front desk helped us... Read more

A few members of family stayed here while celebrating a relative's 40th, and the staff was super sweet to us at the desk, and our rooms were really nice. The casino is pretty nice, but leaves a little more to be desired. The pool, while the water was a little cold, is a fantastic area. The space is really nicely layed out, with plenty of chairs to lounge in the sun.

This is an older property that has been delightfully renovated. It is not huge and glitzy like many other hotel/casinos in Vegas but it was very clean and had all the services we needed. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. The bed was comfy. We spent time at the pool area, renting a day bed, and eating there. Again, it was well kept, and the service and food were good. The spa massage experience was refreshing. Considering its convenient location on the strip this property is an... Read more

Room was really nice and service was good as well. Only thing I didn't like was that the pool didn't open until 10 o'clock and we like to go down for an hour early before it gets too hot. Upon entering the hotel, it was apparent that it is much smaller and less crowded than the 'big' spots along the Strip. The hotel is also older, but this does not seem to affect the quality of the accommodations. Our check in at 11:30am (early) was quick and easy. Our room was ready for us. The casino is small, again, compared to the other resort properties. We stayed in the Paradise Tower of rooms, which is the one right off of the lobby and is closest to the Strip. The staff was awesome.... the only downfall was the waitress covering the slots were slow in getting us our drinks as well as not covering their entire area in the slots ( the waitress would say that's not my area and we ended up waiting longer for our drinks).....I did mentioned this to the Hotel staff as well as Hilto... Its in a fantastic location. Staff were amazing. The bar staff were great. Casino floor was good. The rooms were excellent, very clean and great coffee making facilities. The lifts were slow and some were out of service for a few days, but this didn't spoil the fun. A great Starbucks in the hotel as well.

My friends and I stayed here for 4 nights earlier this month. I had never stayed here before so I relied on reviews only. When we arrived we were given a smoking room, even though we had booked a non-smoking room, but were told we could move to a different room the following day - which we did. Once we moved it was much better; However, our room was a hike from the front entrance. So if you stay make sure you're in the first tower !!!!! You can tell it is an older hotel by the decor and color s... Read more

Loved the bell service with my luggage. Great customer service at front desk. The Starbuck service was the fastest i had in all of the other Starbucks in Las Vegas. I had a paradise room good size and was close to casino floor. The only problem i had was my room key didn't work most of the time. I would stay here again.

We had a great time at the Trop. If you see Kristopher Verville at one of the tables, STOP and play! He is a gracious host explaining the ins and outs of new poker games, is wickedly funny and made us feel very welcome. Restaurants were good, drink service attentive, rooms clean and spacious. Check out the new Band of Magicians show. Very entertaining. We will book at the Trop again.

You will enter the lobby with the strong smell of cigarette smoke and fluorescent lights - classy. You will then walk a mile to your room if you stay in the club tower. Once you find your room, you will be disappointed at the very dreary/ugly appearance of the room/lighting. If you are on business, don't count on being able to work comfortably on your computer at a desk - there isn't one (it's just a table and there is no comfortable chair). You step in the shower and it goes hot and cold (t... Read more

I stayed at this hotel with my husband to celebrate my 50th birthday - and my sister also came. We both emailed the hotel ahead of our trip and despite their email assurances (once they'd located our bookings - that was far too stressful to think of travelling 8000 miles from the UK and not having the bookings on their system despite us having confirmation from our travel agent) that they'd do their best when we arrived - nothing. They didn't even acknowledge it was my birthday and all they co... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights and we were in Paradise Towers so was really close to reception/casino so just an elevator ride down to ground floor. Also had a part view of the strip too. The Deuce bus run just outside of the hotel and the monorail was in the MGM hotel opposite so easy to get around from the this location. Room quite a decent size with 2 queen size beds & plenty of storage space. While this is one of the smaller hotels compared to others on the strip it still had everything you need. ... Read more

Week get to Vegas 2-3 times a year . Depending on our agenda is the area we stay . I have wanted to stay at the Tropicana for a while now. The location is great and the website says rooms have been renovated. First there are no curtains on the windows they have shutters that don't close all the way so in the morning there's light coming through. There was big chunks of paint peeling off in the shower. There was long black hair scattered around the bathroom 7-8 strands. Normally I would go to the... Read more

Staying at the tropicana right now, and i just wanted to let people know that the hotel is a good all rounder that should meet most peoples needs. Yes it is at the bottom end of the strip but the bus service is cheap and efficient ($8 for 24 hour pass) and there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. The hotel itself is a bit basic when you compare it to some of the larger hotels as it only has a couple of places to eat and drink, no big food court etc and the casino is smaller. The room... We were in the Club Tower which for some might be quite a walk from the front entrance. It was adequately renovated, nothing fancy, but clean with comfortable beds. Nice decor, and the tower was fairly quiet.

This hotel is dated, but all the staff interactions we had were good. The lights in our bathroom weren't all working when we arrived and maintenance was there quickly to resolve the issue. Room felt smoky but unfortunately Vegas is not where you want to go if smoke bothers you. Carpet in our room was pretty gross, almost seemed like they were cleaned but not all the shampoo was rinsed out. We were supposed to have a reception on the Sky Deck and was disappointed we didn't get to see that. B... Read more

Now that the Tropicana is paired up with Hilton Honors it is a good value on the Strip. The property is good, the restaurants are excellent and the bang for your bug is very good also. Bocca the Italian Restaurant on site is high quality at a reasonable price.

Excellent location. Large rooms. Lovely soaking tub.Very comfy beds and somehow extremely quiet, slept very well. Internet a little confusing and frustrating. Had to ask twice for a coffee maker but then a lovely lady bought it and lots of coffee (still no tea) up. Long way to walk (but that's Vegas) Wish a pool or hot tub was working and warm. Didn't have time to find the gym. Great comedy club

I attended a conference in Las Vegas, other hotels has better rates, but since the Tropicana Las Vegas is a Doubletree resort, I decided to stay there to get the free Hilton points. Well they never credited my Hilton account after I checked out, I complained twice, but the issue was never resolved. I was also very disappointed the Pools closed at 4pm, They were closed when I left for my conference in the morning and were closed when I returned to the hotel at night. Also the bridge connecting th... Read more

My with and I just visited and paid extra to have a balcony room. It was just a typical room, with a king bed and a small balcony. If I would have known that it was just a standard room I wouldnt have paid extra for the balcony. The air conditioning also did not work very well.

I stayed for three nights at the Tropicana in September and found the hotel appearance a little dated. It reminded me of the 1960s, but maybe that was their intent. Who knows. Not my favorite style. The check in/check out process was slow because there were only two front desk attendants at any time. The attendants were friendly, but you could tell they were a bit stressed because of the long lines. Other than that, I did enjoy my stay. My 6th floor tower room was clean, quiet and the be... Great Resort. A lot of smoke but thats to be expected at a vegas casino resort. They were very helpful and accomodating. I just wish the distance from the entrance to the rooms was not so great. It was quiet in the rooms and the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

This is hotel is chaotic inside out. The room is worn where the AC vent is rusted and the air filter is clogged with dust. The bath tub has paint chipping around it. The exterior wall was wrapped with this huge figure of Robert Irvine and it is peeling from the wall/windows. The hotel is also very noisy make it hard to have a good rest.

Super nice updated and clean rooms...great location on the strip to all the shows we went to. Only surprise downside was pool was seasonal and closed in December but that's ok. Staff are super-helpful and friendly.
