A good alternative to the Strip hotels. Freemont Street has plenty of life and entertainment. The bedroom was a good size and clean, we did have a bit of trouble with the hot water. The casino was lively in the evenings with dancing croupiers. The bar tenders at the Long Bar put on a good show with the cocktail shakers etc.

We have stayed here pretty much once a year since it opened and sometimes twice. This time we rented a double queen room after always staying in a king room. I personally think that the double queen was much nicer in the bathroom. Perhaps the king rooms I have stayed in just haven't been upgraded, but this time in the double Queen our bathroom had a large square sink and a large walk in shower. No tub. LOVED IT!!!! The rainfall shower head worried me at first because I am not a fan of them ... Read more

I have been staying here for years since the turnover from the former Fitzgerald's and have experienced ups and downs in service, but still keep coming back. I have stayed in the standard rooms, the deluxe rooms, and this trip was upgraded by my travelling companion's boss at the last minute to the "D Suite" from our double Queen room. My companion was a platonic friend so the surprise upgrade caught us off guard and we didn't really realize until bedtime that we had to sleep together. The next ... Read more

One hundred of 2 nights sounds very nice to live in a premium hotel. The room was very big and clean. But so cold in the room, just like they don't wanna people to sleep who live there then keep awake on playing the game downstairs. Very easy to find the table games from entrance of hotel but hard to find sign for something to do in the property.

However, they DID remodel the bathroom with a great shower.I would have preferred the old bathroom if that meant keeping the other amenities. Most of the favorite machines are no longer there. When we arrived at the hotel we requested to be on a higher level so we could have a view and they happily obliged. The location is great and the beds/pillows are incredibly comfortable. The shower did not have any hot water so we called the front desk and they had a maintenance guy up within 10 minutes to fix it. He said he would be a little while working on it so we left him to it and hit the town and when we got back he had fixed it. From there, it was smooth sailing.

The only suggestion I would make for anyone staying here is it is on Freemont street so ask for the highest floor level you can get. My friend took me to the Coney Island Hot Dogs located at The D Hotel/Casino in downtown Las Vegas. We entered from inside The D, however, there is a door directly out to Fremont Street. The staff was very friendly. It's a tiny place with about 10 tables. The hotdog was delicious. It is fairly quiet in there, which is nice to sit & enjoy a conversation. The hotel and casino is an upgrade from the former Fitzgerald on Fremont St. You would think with all of the money funneled into this renovation that the elevator system would be state of the art. Unfortunately, not. The system has you enter your floor number and assigns you to a specific elevator, A-E, I believe. So instead of just waiting for the next available elevator, you're stuck waiting endlessly for your elevator. Same concept coming back down. What's ridiculous is that we waited w... Read more

Nice hotel and casino...think midsize. Rooms are big and comfortable. The bed is super comfy. Not a lot of table games or slot machines compared to other casinos, but it has a neat vibe and really central to everything downtown. In an older part of town, the casino seems newer and well maintained compared to others downtown. I would stay here again and recommend it.

We've stayed at the D before and had given it a favorable review...after this stay I just couldn't. Our first impression was the strong smell of urine in the self-parking garage. We parked in the garage as we arrived early and were not sure if we would be able to check in. We left for a short time and when we returned we decided to valet park to avoid the hot, smelly elevators. No one was available to help us with our luggage...the valet driver didn't even offer. My travel started with a bang - 1) cancelled but reinstated flight and 2) hotel room not ready after 4-hr delayed arrival. How could this be!? Desk staff offered a down grade, I got a suite upgrade. AWESOME SPACE. Cleanliness, I question the hair on the bathroom floor that wasn't mine. My bed wasn't made until swing shift, did not know u needed to request such a simple task. The higher the floor the better. Furniture is seemingly dated when compared to the suite furnishings. The casino a... Read more

Loud music is featured throughout the casino! It is also featured in the front west side of the hotel rooms nearest Fremont Street! This lasts until at least 1 am and there is not a chance you could even hear your television during the evening and early night hours when live music is outside your window. Had 11th floor rooms for 2 nights before we switched rooms. A simple warning from the front desk would prevent the hassle od complaint calls and the necessity of changing rooms! Never again... Good: Low cost. Room was clean and a decent size. Bed was comfortable. Bad: Noise from Fremont Street late into the night - noisy air conditioner that I kept on to block the noise from Fremont Street. You get the noise but no view of Fremont Street! If I'm going to have to hear it, I should be able to watch it as well. Worst selection of tv channels I've had at a hotel in a long time. Let's face it, downtown Vegas is what it is. Overall The D is a great place to stay downtown if your looking for ease of stay. The elevator system is quite genius and allows for no wait times. Rooms are updated and fine. Getting in and out of hotel is really easy and great because the hotel is manageable in size. Loved it!

I will start off by saying that the location of the hotel is right smack in the middle of downtown. Great location for being near the action. And that's the best part. Even though we paid extra for a high floor room the music blasted through the walls until 1 am. Not even the AC on high could muffle the noise. The rooms are minimal at best with a small TV and a musty smell. The hotel turns the AC off in your room every time you leave it, so when you get back it's 80 degrees in your room and yo... Read more

Went with a large group, almost 100. We went for a concert sponsored by the D, so we booked through the D. I read the reviews and was apprehensive, but really had no issues. Look, honestly, you can hear noise at night, but nothing off the charts, and if you're there to experience the "real Vegas", that's what you're going to get! The room was clean, comfortable, and big enough for what we needed it for...to shower and sleep. The casino isn't huge, but we liked that and there were plenty of table... Read more

The rooms are nice and if you want to experience Freemont Street, this is a good place to stay. The distance to The Strip is approx 5 miles. Expect A LOT of noice at night. We stayed on the 16th floor, but it was like trying to sleep in the bathroom of a night club. The music from the street is very loud, and the walls are paper thin. Nice pool, good beds, fine aircon. Breakfast is expensive, but there are great diners right next to the hotel

We went to Vegas to get married with all of my grown up kids at the end of January 2016. Stayed at the newly remodeled "D" hotel in Downtown Vegas, under the "canopy" on Fremont st. We have always stayed Downtown on our many trips here, due to lower prices, easier to walk around and just a general great "street party" vibe with nightly free bands. Got a great price ($42) on a corner "wrap around view" room and it was nice. Not great, as I was a little disappointed in the view and the window was ... Read more

Stayed at The D during a cross country road trip I was doing. For the price they charge, they offer double the worth. Decent rooms, number of slot machine options. It's one of the two or three places that still has the old ones. If you are checking out in the morning, the only option for food is the McDonalds that's open 24x7. The bar set up is interesting, and so are the dancing dealers and the bartenders.
