The service was terrible, the check in took over an hour, because they didn't have enough people to check people in. The food court messed up our order twice without an apology or a concern. Our key tag didn't work so I brought it back to the front desk, just for them to tell me to get back in line, in which we waited another half hour. There were only 2 cocktail waitresses on the floor to serve the customers that were playing the slots and tables. The 2 that were working were great.

I've been here many times, and I enjoy staying in the large rooms in the Masquerade Tower, but I'm careful to avoid rooms overlooking the pool as it can be very noisy. Even though there is no mini-bar and no coffee-maker, they provide a refrigerator (which I find very useful). It's off the Strip, but there is free shuttle service to Strip hotels, and rooms at the Rio are often priced attractively. The Spa is great for a massage, or facial, or just a workout. But, don't bother to eat at any o... Read more

Although the Rio is starting to show its age a bit, it is still a first-class hotel. I stayed there in early June for some of the WSOP activities. Be wary of the strip-facing rooms. Although the view is great, the interstate and the railway are adjacent to that side of the hotel, and the noise from them comes right into the rooms. If you are a light-sleeper, you probably want to avoid them.

So when you think about it, your whole attitude in life is really about managing your (and other) expectations. When I first saw Mission Impossible in the theater, I was actually disappointed - but I began to enjoy it upon later viewings. Or when I first approach a blackjack table, I never expect to win thousands of dollars, I'm more than happy to win several hundred and end the session. So it is with the Rio. If you expect something grandiose or even hip, you're likely to be disappointed. But ... Read more

We stayed at the Rio many times in the past. It has always been excellent. We have only been here since yesterday afternoon and so far NOT IMPRESSED!! When we checked in, our rooms were not ready. Okay...we were here at 2:30 so no big deal. We gave them a number to text and were told it would be about an hour. 2 hours later we went back to registration to see what was going on (no one had ever texted us). We were told one of our rooms were ready, but the other would be another 40 minutes.... Read more

We paid approx $73 a night (this included the resort fee and taxes). The rooms were VERY large. That was a pleasant surprise. We were in room 811 in the Ipanema tower. The halls certainly need updating and desperate repairs. More than half the light shades were missing and the same for bulbs. However, it was still well lit, just kinda run down looking. Housekeeping does a good job cleaning but the carpets were stained, the couch grungy. The view, however, was breathtaking. This was a strip view... Read more

Unfortunately, we decided to stay at the RIO because of the WSOP tournament location. It is an older hotel that needs renovation. The bathroom had a broken faucet, there were loud people in the hallway and the food options are lacking relative to other hotels. I think that given the other options in Vegas that we made a mistake staying at the RIO and will drive to the WSOP next year rather than staying at the RIO.

If you are looking for a cheaper option that its near the strip, RIO is a good option. The room are big and the casino floor has a lot of variety of machines, and if you have kids the pool area and KISS minigolf are good ways to entertain them. We came in a car so getting to the strip was pretty easy and fast, we were there under 5 min, and i think they also offer free shuttles every 30 min.

While there is a charge for everything, and restaurants/buffets were a bit over priced at this hotel, the staff is helpful and friendly. The a/c in my room could barely keep up with the high heat of July. I had it set as low as i could (60) as I like it cold when I sleep (like around 67-68) and I couldn't get it below 72. I am not a big buffet lover but I have to say that the dinner buffet at the Rio is amazing. Really like the way the food stations are set up and everything I ate was delicious. I gad roast beef and was able to get a well done piece. Usually it's cooked rare to medium rare and that's not for me. They even had horseradish for the beef and it was HOT. Just how I like it. I would highly recommend this buffet

Rio is a beautiful place with an incredible system of pools. Though isolated from the rest of Vegas (shuttle busses available) it is very much in exclusive of itself. It has everything from a wonderful casino, shopping, a fine selection of restaurants. I will say though most Caesar properties have the same breakfast buffet items, the Rio was the best as far as freshest product.

Stayed here 4 years ago and just returned this week. Though the room was nice "a premium suite" it was well worn and lacked basic repair. The sinks don't drain, the glass shower door is badly sagging and feels like it's going to fall off, the carpet is ragged. The Keurig coffee makers have been removed from the rooms and now have the bag style makers so if you plan on bringing K-cups... they are useless. The mini bars are gone. We got in early for a conference, checked in and although our room was not available for a $20 up-grade we could get into a room. We were NOT told that there was a $24 early check-in fee as well. At check-out we argued this point and did get the $24 removed "just this once". Other than that, clean, comfortable room. The facility gets a lot of hard use and it shows in maintenance...lamp shades missing or damaged in hallway, etc.
